Gentle posts for gentle folks

Thank you so very much, my friend.

It was an exhausting transition,
But I am home!

I worried about my sleep, if it would continue being disrupted, after the rehab experiences ....

But I did sleep!!!!!! Sleep 😴 πŸ’€ πŸ›

Sleep, glorious 😴 πŸ’€ πŸ›

That's my good news for today, for you and for all of you my friends!

And my husband is different, but he is still himself. And back here.
He's forgotten some things but not everything.

He hasn't forgotten me.

I'm happy you have each other! πŸ’•

It's good to know you're getting on alright @Kaila. Each day you'll be a little stronger and always on the receiving end of my best vibes being sent your way. 🌹
I love being on the receiving end of your best vibes, RR!
Thank you!
They are still needed and much appreciated!

As is the support of others here.

I am needing and trying to find new ways forward,
to incorporate some of what huz and I have loved in the past;

And to do new simpler tasks and actions and activities.

A lot has changed for both of us.
A huge sudden life change , as we've both had major medical issues ,
Requires serious recalibration.

Not easy at all to do......
But essential.

And thankful that we get another chance to do it.

I'm very glad to no longer be at hospital or rehab!!!

Yesterday I cleaned out dear kitty's ears.
She's an older cat and they get terrible,

and though she was fed while I was gone, she didn't get all her needs that I cater to, for her health and comfort.

Today I cleaned her toes and nails, and clipped her nails. They were so needy of attention.

Tomorrow I will comb and brush her very matted fur.

I also did my little special additions to her foods today.

She's a sweet companion.
I'm happy to be able to take good care of her again.

Neither she nor I ,were up to catching up on all of those in 1 day.
But I feel glad to be doing it.

I don't know your living situation but if you can when you feel up to it cook a few dishes that freeze well and divide into portions. Soups are great for the freezer. Put in smaller zip lock bags and freeze flat, they take up less room in the freezer. There are very tasty, easy ones that can just be made from canned stock, canned or frozen veg, canned chicken breast, or browning up some ground beef. Google the internet for 10 can or 8 can soups, they are great in a pinch. When you feel better you can go from scratch.

When I do scratch soups I take all the veggies to the table with my knife, peeler and cutting board. Pull the trash can over for scraps. I sit to peel and chop. I do it in order, cabbage, celery, onion, bell peppers go first into the pan with the stock or tomato base. Then carrots, potatoes, green beans, corn. Whatever the two of you like with meat of your choice

Beans or lentil soups are always good as well!!

My favorite, just a quick and easy simple potato soup with a milk/cream base. Some add other things but my Mom, it was just russet potatoes diced,in water till tender, don;t drain the water Then butter, milk and half and half, salt and pepper, simmer. This was the house sick soup, for any illness, anytime of year she went straight to the kitchen to make it. It is the same in my home. Son grown and married will ask me to make him a pot of potato soup when he feels bad.

One day at a time, don't push, do the best you can, much love!!

What a good cat-mama you are! ❀️

Thank you all very much, for the wonderful posts and positive reactions!

I had some discouraging things happening, this morning, and am trying to pull myself together, now,

And start my day over again,
And your caring is very uplifting!

I think that these special gentle hugs multiply:

Each hug given would be 2 people, so each have 1 extra to give....
And each 1 of those ,then have another 1 to give...
And so on.....

So please, everyone who needs or would like a soft hug, take one, and pass it along.
There are plenty, here.
