How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

It is chilly here today. I had to make a deposit in the ATM so my account wouldn't overdraw. I had to lean on my car until the line was gone. One lady let me go ahead of her. Sometimes I feel so pathetic. But I got it done.

Pooch news.... Pixie is home from the hospital, and she's back eating again. They've put her on a bunch of meds including steroids ..but she's back to being a happy pup again.. she just needs now to put some weight back on. The total cost for my daughter over this last month with Vets fees and hospital fees.. over £5k ...just horrifically high... but she doesn't begrudge one penny of it, if it means her little Princess is saved.

Stop Stop with the bagel comments... Y'all are killing me! O M Gosh, I miss real bagels!!

Worked today, saw 5 patients, finished all documentation (including 2 recerts--extra work) and now home waiting on veggie pizza to come outta the oven.

This weekend (includes Friday) will be a take-down-Christmas and general thorough cleaning... house smells stale (yuk) but we haven't been able to open the windows like other years to allow the fresh breeze to blow through in the fall. And I sure ain't opening any windows with the temps we've got.. BRRRRR

I had a fairly ecletic day... I did some painting of the woodwork in the foyer.... I wrapped the car up against the ice.... and I spent about an hour reducing £32,000 photos from my phone down to...8.800.....

That's as well as doing the laundry...clearing out some big drawers of excess hair products ready to donate to the womens refuge centre in the next town ... vaccing the inside of the drawers... and refillng them with new winter clothing...

Cooking dinner. ( chicken curry and rice)

That on top of being fairly unwell today... ..I feel I've done my share

I hope you'll feel better asap 🌹
Thanks, RR. Whatever it was, it passed quickly. Guess the karma gods read my earlier post and decided to give me a break.

I had an especially terrific day with TGS who's at an adorable, energetic age. He squeals and giggles, begging, "Catch me, Tootsie" before running through our circular floor plan. After a few rounds, he turns around to chase and catch me. I love toddler years and wish they weren't so fleeting. Am savoring every moment and so grateful we have so much time with him.

I'd long hoped to someday have grandchildren to chase, but can't say I expected to literally be running with them at age 72. What started out as an iffy morning turned into a spectacular day. 😁

I am taking about 85 individual musical pieces, in written form, and applying a highlighter (usually yellow) to to repeats and del segno signs to alert me to those things when I read them in rehearsal and performance in just a few days. Some of these charts kick serious butts...

All of this is preparation for the Windjammers, Unlimited, convention which I'll be attending next week. We're talking CIRCUS MUSIC, baby.
:)

I want a medal 🥇and gold stars ⭐⭐ and pats ✋on the back because I actually got dressed and donned warm clothes, went outside and finally picked up the debris from Tuesday's wind.

Does anybody besides me ever read those online articles about all the stuff we're supposed to get rid of right now? Geez. According to the writers of the articles, we have to unload this, that and the other thing from our kitchens, bedrooms, family rooms, living rooms, dining rooms...yada yada yada.

As if that's not enough, we're all too old to wear anything comfortable, a color that's left over from last year, shoes that aren't trendy or anything that hasn't been seen on a fashion runway. And our hairstyles! Omigosh! Our hairstyles have been out for at least 20 years and not only aren't flattering, they never were.

So for all of you going through your closets or decluttering anything, check out the articles. They'll tell you what you can and cannot keep, how to dress this season, which of your kitchen appliances you need to dump and everything not to donate so as not to embarrass yourself.

After all that's done, there will be plenty of info on which thrift stores to visit and what to buy...so you can fill the closets back up and clutter up your home again. Until the next time some nameless, faceless person whom you've never met decrees what you should and shouldn't have and do and wear.

And let's not forget for a second that veggie trays or meat & cheese trays no longer exist. They are charcuterie boards. We're even told what to call things!

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Damn influencers!!!!! 😁

I'm supposed to pick up TYO (three-year-old) grandson for the day, but my stomach is a little wonky so I'm in a wait-and-see mode for now. I'd barely pay attention to it if norovirus hadn't hit virtually every family I know (on both coasts!) this holiday season.

Just had a little oatmeal and will see if that settles ok. If so, he and I will hit a couple of grocery stores before coming back to my house. If not, I'll be canceling. 🤞

Truly I can't complain too much - I've dodged the flu that DH (and seemingly everyone else had), also the noro that didn't hit DH or me, but all our kids and their families and friends had it.

Thing is, on the rare occasions when I'm sick to my stomach nowadays I'm very resentful about it, having thrown up way more than my share during my pregnancies. By all rights, the universe should consider my lifetime nausea/vomiting box fully checked. And then some.

Still, if given the choice, I'd take 24-48 hours of yucky noro over the flu and its longlasting residual cough. (This is just between us. Please don't tell the universe I said that.)

Will advise...
I heard norovirus was going around. 😒 I had it several years ago and never want it again! Horrible stuff!

Doc diagnosed cracked ribs. MRI is scheduled for the bump on my head.
SO took me to a small jewelry store in New Castle. Buzzer entry only. He will do some repairs and gave us a guesstimate on setting diamond flush in an existing bolo. Cleaning out "the box". A quick stop at a Mexican Western wear store was a bit strange. Mostly small sizes, lots of bling and fancy boots. Nothing spectacular
Cracked ribs are so painful! 😕 Sorry.

I'm glad you didn't go get that the picture today! Ice is dangerous!
We don't get much snow here but ice can be a real problem.
apparently it'll be like that tomorrow..even worse probably, we're forecast for up to a foot of snow..and the lanes don't get gritted like the main roads do.. so the packed ice under the snow is a real danger
