2025 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

Beautiful weather here - the Rose Parade in nearby Pasadena will be starting soon, likely to some early fog, but that should burn off fairly quickly. As you can see, there's still no rain in our forecast. Happy for that in the short term, but not overall. The long-range forecasters are so far being proven correct that So Cal will suffer a very dry winter.

I hope that your area and my area gets some type of precipitation this month.

Today it wasn't enough to shovel in the driveway. I brushed some off with a broom. It looks like the sun is trying to come out, so hopefully the black asphalt will absorb heat and melt most.

My mom hired a plowman one year and he either didn't show up or showed up when the storm started, then when it was over, never came back to clear what had fallen in the interim. Wanted a season contract, too. Once it's paid, he does it when it's convenient.

Yes, myself.
same here we all have to do our own
That's how it was when I was growing up - and most family's children were the primary labor force. Talk about back-breaking work in terrible conditions, then the frustration of wind blowing it all back in, or it snowing again overnight so you had to start the process all over again. Ugh...

If Greece had a cold weather climate, the myths would probably have played out very differently. Sisyphus's eternal punishment mightn't have been rolling a boulder up a steep hill in Hades while being attacked from behind, but rather eternally shoveling snow in a blizzard while lightly clad.
