Got off FB in November, looking for places to interact

I got really tired of the algorithms on FB and other social media. So I’m signing up for alternatives like the senior online community at AARP. I was googling and found this forum so thought I’d give it a try. I retired in 2018 from California and since then have traveled a bit and lived in Texas, New Mexico, and now Missouri, where I’m planning to stay for awhile.

My family is me, two chihuahua mixes , and a senior cat. Looking forward to meeting new people.

I never liked Facebook. I always called it Fakebook for obvious reasons. My wife liked to play some the games on it and she asked me to play one to help her in Farmville 2, so I started playing it. I later discovered that you could play it and it was better without Fakebook. So we stopped going there and played the game on the developers server.

Then Mark Suckerborg had a fit that Farmville 2 could be played without Fakebook, and at the same time Adobe dropped their Flash player, both due to corporate greed, so the changes ruined the game. No more Fakebook after that. My wife was bummed out about that as she liked the game, but I never had any use for Anti-Social Media anyway. I was glad they forced her to stop going there with their greed. In my opinion, they did her a favor...

Welcome here. I don't blame ya about FB, I dumped them years ago.

Welcome. That's a lot of moving. I'd consider leaving California if I could. But moving is expensive and no place is cheap anymore it seems.

FaceBook isn't broad enough. It's like a Three Stooges or Marx Brothers film: one-liners that seldom adhere to a theme.
