No this was the appt for my maxillofacial consultant. They say Oral clinic..but it's not oral for me its for my Jaw, and side of my face because for many years I've suffered with Giant Cell Arteritis... and I'm on high steroid medication for it, so they have to keep an eye on it on a regular basis.

My appt was for today.. and on friday they sent me a very curt Text cancelling the appt,,... which I;d already waited a year for... now they've sent me a letter in the post giving me a new appointment for June.. 6 months from now..so that will be a year and a halfsince my last appt...
Am sorry you are suffering from GCA; my younger sister was diagnosed with it two years ago. No picnic.

This morning I had one of those scam calls about expenditure on my bank card. Scammers please note, I am one of those who still pay by cash, simply because it's anonymous. Nonetheless I drove to the bank and had it checked out, simply for peace of mind. Whilst out I stopped by at the supermarket for mushrooms and a few other provisions. My turn to cook this evening, the lady has requested Mushroom Stroganoff, so that's what it will be.

A text last week, from work, could I help out today? That has been changed but as yet I have not heard what they want. That unexpected time gave me a chance to chase up my tailor on the progress of my new blazer. "Soon," is all he would commit to.

Did I mention previously that we have been invited to a rather grand birthday party? It's a friend's (60th, 65th 70th,) does it matter that I can't remember? Old age and amnesia are common bed-fellows. The party will be held at The Verwood Hub,

Last night birthday boy, knowing that I live near the Verwood Hub, asked me to stop by to pick up a package for him, which I have duly done, and dropped it to his home, which wasn't too difficult, given that he lives near the bank that I called on earlier.

Now I am back home ready to peel mushrooms, chop onions and crush garlic that will go into the Stroganoff later. But first, coffee!

Morning folks...are we feeling like popscicles today??? -4F out
there today, brrrrrr....not going out for anything, course usually
don't anyhow....not much going on for me right now, aches n
pains of course....but hell it is to be expected....just noticed how
disgusting this desk is with clutter and dust, so may clean it
off a bit today....or not....LOl...CATCH U LATER!!!!
;):love::coffee::alien:
Take is slow. How are your furries doing?

More... I did get those gel nails taken off while I was out which saved me another journey tomorrow.... and when I got home there was a letter from the hospital , if you remember they cancelled my appt for today.. by text... I'd already waited a year for the appointment...

This is the letter they sent me ..all identifying names removed..

you'll notice that the new appt is not for another 6 months... but you may also notice that the appt they cancelled was for today Tuesday the 21st ... but they couldn't even get that right ... instead they write Monday the 21st of january......what hope is there for the NHS..?
What do people do who are really sick as in needing attention now?

Tile work is done and turned out better than expected. I shooed him out at 6:00. Now it is clean up time! The whole house has a fine coating of concrete dust. It could be worse than dark wood floors and blinds:>(
6F and with windchill in the negatives. Garage heat and fireplace are on. Regular heat has not kicked in yet at 68F. I am so thankful SO insisted on spray insulation everywhere. Hot tub happy hour was pleasant. Rosemary is growing.
Roads were mostly clear at 8:00 but socker mom's live in a world all by themselves once they are behind the wheel of their tug boats.
Eggs $7 at Aldi. No, we will not get chickens!

My wits didn't get gathered this morning. How can I tell? Well. I replaced three batteries in a clock this morning. It's a nuisance process because after removing the old batteries, then the clock has to be turned to 10 minutes before one o'clock, batteries replaced, clock turned clockwise to correct time. Okay. Did that. Climbed back up the kitchen ladder and rehung clock over the back door. Climbed down, returned the ladder to its storage spot, then discovered that I'd replaced the old batteries with same old batteries that I took out. Oy:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You'll not believe this... it seems the ineptitude doesn't only lie wth the NHS these days.

The item I went to collect from the store, which was ''lost in their system''.. I called their Customer services team, and spoke for once to a person who seemed to know what she was talking about, and she apologised for it being lost and said that the only thing I could do was to cancel the order as I'd not be able to drive for the next few weeks to go and collect, and they could only hold it for 5 days.

...When I got home, I ordered it again but this time to come to the house even tho' it meant paying a high postage cost. A little later I got a email from the woman I spoke to apologising again for them dropping the ball...

...and now... I've just had an email telling me they've sent my latest order to the store in the next county ! 😩😩😩

While there's not much snow management to be done these days, on the other side the weather is getting colder. I woke up this morning and it was -7C (19F) just outside the door. Just the lightest bit of snow sifting down at the moment. It will probably be a while before our cross-country ski track along the retired rail bed can be established. It requires firm snow.

Ten days ago, a small committee from the river restoration group I volunteer with met, and we rearranged our finance tracking and reporting system. Doing that has been a "shot in the arm" as the old saying goes. We seem to be re-energized. I was on the phone yesterday working at sourcing funds for the mapping we need to do. Nothing from my efforts is actually committed to us yet — but I'm a realist, and it looks promising.🙂

Well, it sure has been an interesting day...

Headed to visit Ed this AM; saw an older lady walking on the sidewalk-- she was only wearing chino pants and t-shirt and socks! the gauge on the car dash said 36 degrees and I know the wind-chill was colder than that! I wondered if she was a dementia patient.

I pulled over and offered her a ride. She declined. I said, "It's awfully cold to be outside with just a t-shirt on, you sure I can't drive you somewhere?" Her face became tensed, she pointed at me and said, "I've dealt with you before" (never seen this lady in my life). Alrighty then, she feels threatened.. I told her good day and drove on, praying she would get somewhere warm soon. Mental illness? don't know but I couldn't *make* her get in the car =(

Had my first physical therapy appt... I like the therapist and he's giving me some good tips. We'll see how this goes.

Home and had lunch. Now curled up with a Kristen Hannah book and a cup of coffee (bliss!!!) We're possibly going to get 5 inches of snow. Everyone around here has their knickers in a wad, all concerned. (having lived in New England, I'm pretty blaze about snow) I just plan to stay in, stay warm and stay safe.

You did not call 911 non emergency?

That clock is still ticking and still on time. Go figure.

There is no sNOw north and west of the city, but all the schools in our county are closed again tomorrow. More go figure.

In the UK the emergency number is 999 the non emergency nnumber is 101... for that you report obvious non-emergencies....stolen items, property damage, drug use etc... we also have a number 111... this is a number to contact a doctor out of the GP surgery hours if we feel it's something urgent...but doesn't warrant a 999 call for an ambulance..

I sure don't know what to say to you about this medical care where you are. I wish you could get better care and attention; it just seems sooo screwed up. I know I complained a lot about the level of care I got last Sept when I went in, but the care from the actual doctors was excellent and I was in and out in 2 days. Take care and stay strong,

You poor thing...hang in there.

Been up since 0245am, no clue why.

My plan and achievement for today is enjoying this 2nd, no...maybe it is the third? glass of Cote de Rhone.
A nice red wine. Merlot or Pino Noir were my go to in the past but Pino tends to be on the dry side and merlot is boring compared to the Cote.

Cheers.

It's a dreary looking morning but, I don't care, I have plans for today which do not include standing outside all day :)

I am looking forward to meeting up with my friends later which is always fun. Today we are meeting at an Italian restaurant we have been going to for years, it's great for groups of people as they have big tables and a nice bar so, after lunch, customers can go and spend the rest of the afternoon in the bar, It will be a long afternoon :)

Hope everyone has a good day (y)

I hope I get a picture of my grandkids waking up to a few inches of snow! They are on the coast of NC and got a bit more than us.
I'm waiting for the sun to come up and I'll get some pictures here. It's 21°.
