How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

It's 2:30pm. I haven't dressed today. Not going to bother now. I probably look like one of those cartoon pix of Maxine wearing a robe and slippers and with uncombed hair but still being gazed at adoringly by her faithful dog, Floyd.

@hollydolly Freeze some of that delicious-looking food so that I can have some when I get there😋
I am freeezing it Gigi..I've had a few bits of it now.. but the rest I'll freeze, ...

LOL...images conjure up like this....

but I can't imagine it...you're too glam to look like that even in gown and slippers

@hollydolly …how frustrated you must be! Can’t (well actually i can) believe what you are going thru. Once I had a similar experience….took me 20 years to go back. Nothing like being almost there….then not. Still no rain here. Got house trim painted…concrete staining not yet to my satisfaction so another day…

Got my chores done, went out because it was sunny but too cold yet to do much. Got in the car since I hadn't driven it for a while. About 30 miles to a little touristy rock and crystals shop, off-season so most of the small eateries are closed but I did get a fresh-made sandwich and coffee.

I didn't need it on but the navigation can be entertaining.

On the way back:
  • 🎶Stalled vehicle off the road on the left.
  • Sure enough, some idiot tried to use the emergency vehicles turnaround, missed it, and drove down into the freeway median which is quite a bit lower than the roadbed on either side.
  • 🎶Is it still there? "Yes" I replied.
  • 🎶Do they have assistance? A minivan had pulled off and the drivers were talking, so "Yes."

I haven't had it go interactive with me like this before. Anyone else seen this? Or is it common and I haven't noticed since I rarely use it?

I've just been saying this..that the roads just feel to be full of idiot drivers lately.. I don't if it's because we have had a massive increase in Immigrants from Europe who drive on the opposite of the road.. or what it is.. but there certainly is a whole new dangerous bunch of drivers on the roads.. these days

I'm beginning to wonder about kids. Maybe they are more inexperienced than ever due to Uber, etc. and the pandemic years?

see, here that argument wouldn't work because unlike the USA all kids have to take a very involved theory test and then take driving lessons from a professional driving instructor, before taking a test which is very extensive...so they will be getting taught the same things we their parents and grandparents were taught.. which makes me think it has to be either immigrants.. or more people drug & drink driving.. apparently since the onse of WFH... there has been more than double the instance of Drinking and drug driving.. people work at home drinking a few glasses of something as they go through the day then get in the car to go to the shops or pick the kids up from school.. and they're way over the limit

What I do think is that there should be a limit to the age or length of time someone has held a driving licence that they can go onto motorways.. for example 21 and over before you drive onto a motorway... and or held a full driving licence for minium of 2 years..

Thank God the palpitations went away. I was up in middle of the night and noticed they had stopped. I went to sleep, probably around 6:30 a.m. and slept until 11. I tackled the kitchen and loaded the dishwasher. I then started getting ready to go out this evening. My dear friend Hunter performed at this venue we'd seen him at before, but this time he was in the ballroom, which is much bigger than the lounge. The acoustics were better and he sounded fantastic! Tonight was probably the last time I'll see him because he and his wife are moving out of state in a couple of months and he cut back on gigging.

The food was okay but could've been better and IMO, for the price there should have been a larger portion. I intend to leave a review to mentioning those things online. Despite that, it was a lovely evening. Some of Hunter's family were there and the ballroom was full of other faithful fans who love him. My honorary daughter and me watched people dance and I danced in my chair a little bit. I needed this night out. Now I will have a snack, take my meds and watch TV. Good night and sweet dreams.

I'm back..for those who haven't read the other thread... here I am back on my own thread, to tell you all ..go read the other thread, and listen to my sad story....I don't want to be tedious about it and write it everywhere, so here on my own thread, I'll not bore you with it...

Hoping everything goes well, hollydolly!
Oh Hollydolly, I'm so sorry and so angry to hear what's happened. Apparently the NHS was once said to be the envy of the world, now it's dying on it's feet. It must be very frustrating for the medical staff who are unable to do their job because of lack of facilities. If I had a magic wand, I'd cast a spell that sorted everything out for you, but alas, the best I can do is to to give you my best wishes.

I have been lost from this thread for some reason. So I didn't know what you were going through. What an awful experience to have when you are already worried about having an operation. So sorry you had to be put through this.

Good morning, Invisipeeps.

Last night I pretended not to know that diphenhydramine is baaaaad for old folks, threw caution to the winds and took a benadryl so that I could get a decent night's sleep. Eight hours...ahhhh.

It's supposed to be sort of warmish here today. I can handle that.

53 days until spring.

On my early walk around 7 temp was 32 but a tad breezy, so I didn't walk far
This morning my friend, Marcia is picking me and Bill {next door neighbor/church member}to go to church. I haven't been there since Dec 22nd.I couldn't attend the following Suns due to having pneumonia or the weather wasn't good When I get back, having brunch with another church member, Val
The rest of my day read the paper, talk with my brother as we always do
I don;t watch Buffalo Bills football games, though I would love them to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. If that happens it will be the 1st time in 30 yrs the team will go to the Super Bowl. It would certainly would be a positive change for the city& die hard fans of the team

Sourdough day. I've gradually used up lots of things from the holidays like recently expired foods and impulse buys that continue to sit in my cupboard.
Time to get back to more healthy eating and walking. If @moviequeen1 can get out and walk at 32° I should be able to get out at 50°! 😁
I made bread last night in the machine but used a better recipe for a somewhat softer loaf. Someday I'll try a sourdough.

@hearlady Remember when I crowed about the Ladies Loungewear (with pockets!)? It has occurred to me that I haven't ever put anything in the pockets. Maybe it's just having pockets that tickles me, not actually using them. LOL!

The sun is out, and since I'm going to take the trash out anyway, thought I'd put on the gardening boots and take a turn around the garden. Now that the really cold weather is about done, it's time to deadhead snapdragons and see if there's anything else blooming that I haven't noticed.

It has been so cold here that even the blooms on our camellia froze:(. I hope it doesn't warm up too much too fast and that we'll still get more blooms for a few weeks.

42 days until DST. I wish we'd just go to standard time and be done with it. I don't like getting up in the dark in summer and going to bed in daylight.

Still cold but daffodils are insisting on growing.
SO is at a play date. The big one in Phoenix, AZ is getting closer.
Izzi was somewhat of a pest last night but there is no way to be angry with her. After all her humans watched a movie with cats. Are they planing on bringing another attention getter hom? No, but the idea is very tempting. A stray - any day!
SIS has been very ugly to Mumsy again. There is nothing we can do as she is like a puppet on a string.
Cat grass on the window sill has tiny water droplets sitting on the leaf tips. Diamonds for kitties?
Time to finish the pot of coffee and face the world.

Well, put a Kleenex in the pocket like a proper old lady! 😁
