Didn't do much today except nap and watch T.V. I did start the liquid soap making process, which is easy. I cut the soap into slices, much like you would do butter and boil them for about 25 minutes, stirring a few times. Now I just have to let it sit overnight. Tomorrow I'll add a little bubble bath and use a hand blender to break it down until it's smooth. The boiled soap starts out looking soupy then turns into a consistency similar to lard when it's left sitting for hours.

Off to see ‘Twp and Tamping’ this evening.
Another( Comedy) play about the residents of Cwm Gelli written by Julie Lewis.
if it is as hilarious as the previous two instalments I’m in for a treat.
The theatre is a matter of yards from my local Wetherspoons so I’ll pop in there for tea first.

Day seven of new adventure.
Continuing staging of house before we list it.
Second coat of paint on a door.
Three of 5 rugs with pads arrived: two runners and one 8x10. Was leery of ordering a large rather expensive rug online but it is nice, like it, looks good for the room setup.
New 55" TV arrived, put it in place. Rearranged some furniture in same room as TV and looks good, ready for photos.
Emptied out my huge 38 drawer, 1901 oak roll top accountants's desk, took all the drawers to storage.
Rented a 10' uhaul truck and found two men to move the rest of the desk (top and bottom) into storage tomorrow morning.
Cleared out the closets in 3rd bedroom, hallway, moved all the storage boxes out of the room to storage.
Put together two large chrome clothing racks on wheels in the rented storage facility to transfer extra clothing in closets, to clear those out somewhat.
Fed Ex let me know the other two rugs will be here tomorrow between 11-3.
Two Stickley bedroom end tables and Stickley fall front desk ordered, to arrive first week of April.
Two matching bedside lamps ordered, and a Tiffany Craftsman style stained glass short end table lamp ordered, to arrive late next week.
Two wall pictures ordered coming Feb 11th.
Granite and tile installer to call me; tiling the back patio to match interior tile; putting in granite in master bath double vanity.

Tired but getting there. Hoping to list the house by April 15.
Need to work on income taxes this week.

I saw a commercial now touting the product as "easy as pie." What? Where did that saying come from. How easy is pie? From where I sit it's only easy if it comes from a grocery store.

And that made me think of another silly saying. Happy as a clam? How happy is a clam and how would we know that a clam is happy? Do clams smile?

Okay. I admit it. There's too much time on my hands👐. (GG exits stage left to wash dishes.)
I use the expression "happy as a clam sometimes" and have thought about that too GG. ROFLM*O!

Can't believe this. Still sick, though I'm trying to pretend I'm not. Now my son has it and he must be off work. He keeps asking if I need him and I say No Dummy, you must get better yourself! Me & his wife wanted him to go Urgent Care, across his street and No. I notice he's gotten stubborn about things. My mother always saw a stubborness streak in him. It began when he refused to learn the proper spelling of 'have to.' Funny memory, too sick now to retell it.

I'm trying to stand up more, not sit, to feel better.

Raining here and 47F.

Somebody 'splain to me why my home page is loaded up with debt consolidation ads when I have no debt.

Or why the home page is loaded up with ads for McAfee when McAfee is what I already have.

There is no plan for today. I'm just going to wing it since there's nowhere to go, and I have all the time in the world to get there.

Raining my here too.
Ugh, I have to take some curtains back to Walmart. They looked great in the store and I need new bedroom curtains. Got them home and they are shiny and not the color match. Should carry a swatch with me.
I hate to return things but I need something else.
Now trying to put them back in package just like they were.........thought it would be easy..........😒

After all the staging yesterday, slept like a rock from 2100-0600.
39F overnight, clear and cold, high today to be mid-upper 60s.
Sitting here with first cuppa J, listening to all the generations zooming off to work, school and daycare.
Thankful it is our time to do as we please.
Continuing to stage is in the cards for today.
Hope ya'll made it through the night and have either an eventful or uneventful day depending on your situation. 😇

Morning all folks!!! A sunny brisk day in missouri, temp is
19F. going to 45 they say.....no precip hopefully....watched
fireworks last nite via my front security camera, peeps were
whooping it up due to chiefs winning the football game, big
deal...not......dunno yet what plans for today are, brain still
slowly waking up with influx of caffiene....late feeding squirrels and birds this morning, so better get to it....hope all have great
day !!! ;):coffee:

Training event #1 for the day: read WSJ and sip coffee.
Training event #2: watch DH get his skivvies in a twist, due to his anxiety. He was a bachelor way too long. It wasn't even 0700 and he wanted me to help him load packed boxes from the pantry into Dash 2; and then accompany him over to the newly rented storage unit 5 minutes up the road and unload said boxes.

Training even #3: try not to let DHs twisted skivvies become my skivvies in a twist...to be continued....

@Pepper, since @RadishRose already provided the chicken noodle soup, I'll send along some virtual ginger ale (Schweppes--I like it best)... Take care and feel better soon...

And that goes for all you sweet folks not feeling well (@timoc +++) Here's to a spring in your step and back to your best life ASAP!

So after cleaning 1/2 the kitchen cabinets with Murphy oil soap + the front of the stove this AM, I'm now sipping apple/cinnamon tea and crackers with nut spread while I rest my back. Friends of the Library meeting today and visiting Ed. A few groceries to pick up.

Looks like rain on-and-off today... I have veggies prepped for lunch and soup already cooked for supper. Look forward to finishing my new library book today (it's a good one, I'll share in the "What do you read" thread) and maybe watching an episode of "Unforgotten" on Prime.

Had some really exciting news over the weekend.. My older daughter closed on the house she purchased and is already lining up crews to come in and paint the living area/kitchen + has the nasty carpet pulled up and getting ready to put down new LVP flooring. She had an extra blessing Saturday which I am really thanking God for... the realtor from whom she bought the house also has a sideline of buying and flipping houses in the area. He called her Saturday AM and said he'd just bought a house that was full of nice furniture and offered, "Come pick up whatever you want." So she has most basic furniture necessities provided gratis. =D

Y'all have a great day!

I'm proud of myself, so far.........managed to strip off sick room sheets & blankets to change later, letting mattress air out. The best is I managed to take a shower! It was hard, I kept on dropping the soap, kept telling myself, be careful, don't fall. I'm clean, in body at least!

What I will do today is write out my DIL's BD card, go out & mail it and then go to pharmacy, not CVS, to my Russian women's collective and go home to tackle the bed.

If I didn't have to do these important chores, I probably would have stayed filthy and lazed around all day, but I managed to will myself to get moving. I'm still alive, afterall! :ROFLMAO:

Great gifts from @CinnamonSugar & @RadishRose really helped!

Miserable day, cold and wet. I find this weather so depressing. I spent the morning preparing and freezing some chicken joints. We can usually get whole chicken and portion them much cheaper than buying prepared chicken joints. I've boiled the carcasses to make stock for chicken soup.

Tonight I'm cooking Scotch egg with potato and lentil salads. Not exactly seasonal, but we like them at any time of year.

I used to make scotch eggs in a deep fat fryer but, got rid of the fryer and baked them in the oven instead. I haven't tried them in the air fryer yet but, apparently you can and recipes look good so, I am going to try that out soon. :)

Glad you're feeling good enough to clean up the icky sick sweat! Do you have the flu? Type A is particularly nasty this year. It's going into bilateral pneumonia quickly and is vaccine proof. We've lost two residents this month (both vaccinated) and I have a ton of significant weight losses to deal with this week. Our 103 YO toughed through it!

Got my new laptop set up! Dunno why I hate doing that, but I do and am glad to have it done and it's so nice to have an uncracked screen and a touch pad that works! Must try not to drop the new one but do always buy the four year service plan because I'm hella rough on them.

Sunny and 54 F is the forecast for the day! Got to finish packing the van for out of town work and head out around noon.

Well what an afternoon it has been...

First I drive in the sunshne to the next town... I can post my parcels, get the pharmacy, and the supermarket all right next dor to each other...

The roads were all flooded , because of last night's torrential rain.. I get to the town, go and park in the multi storey.. maxium 10 minutes , and walk outside and in that short time, it's black as coal, and absolutely torrential rain, thunder,, lightening the whole 9 yards.. black like midnight seriously.. at it was only noon...

I had to walk about 300 yards to get the Post office and my parcels got wet.. fortunately I'd wrapped them well so not soaked, but the wind was so strong it just kept blowing the hood down on my Parka..
In the supermarket which is 2 storeys high the sound of the rain on the roof was like God drumming....

I got the flowers for my neighbour, and the other stuff, and drove home, by now the storm had stopped and the sun was out again.. except the roads were almost impassable for floods.. and several roads were closed..

What was really weird tho'.. all this is in a town just 5 miles from here.... but when I got home.. it had snowed.. there was snow everywhere.... 😲😲🥶
