Do you ever feel like there are too many "coincidences" in your life?

So, I saw an interview yesterday on the news with the owner of a Lexus dealership in New Jersey. It made me think of an account that used to own an Infiniti dealership in New Jersey. They sold it and went into the travel business. They were great friends, but they had an account manager that was horrible. I used to hear about it all the time. I couldn't remember her name.

Today I went on LinkedIn for shits and giggles and scrolled through the names of people that it suggested I connect with. That particular account manager came up! I could have never come up with her name, but there it was.

I have also had several occasions where I have been playing Wordscapes and watching TV and the particular word that I entered came up at exactly the same time it was mentioned by the TV personality.

I can't explain it, but these situations happen often. Has anyone else experienced the same? If so, why does this happen?

I remember times when a certain person has been on my mind, then very soon after, I see them out in public. Whenever that's happened, my first thought is there must be a reason (maybe they need help, etc.) but generally, that hasn't been the case. So, I just chalk it up to coincidence.

Yes. More than a few times. I remember once when I was 14 yrs old; my family was packing up a U-Haul truck to move to another state. All of us kids were involved but late in the afternoon, I was given permission to go to a neighbor/friend's house. We were sitting on their back porch listening to music when suddenly I knew I had to go home, right now! Jumped up, said, "I gotta go. My mom needs me." Ran all the way and when I got there, found out my baby brother had hit his head and needed to go to the ER for stitches. I stayed home to watch the younger siblings while Mom and Dad took him to get fixed.

It doesn't happen often but when it does, I listen.

Here are a few of my coincidences(?)

One time I dreamed that my sister-in-law (SIL) called the house and I said that my wife wasn't home and she said, "I'm calling you."
When I woke up, the phone rang and it was my SIL. I said my wife was working and she said, "I'm calling you. We want you to come over my Dad's house for a picnic." That was weird.

A recurring coincidence is when I post something on my Facebook page, one of my Facebook friends comes to mind and that person is the first to "LIKE" the post.

Then there's the recurring 159 on the clock. So frequently when I check the time it's 1:59 either am or pm. Why is that weird? That was my time clock number where my wife and I met and once worked. My wife used to like to reminisce about that to me because it brought a smile to her face to think about those days when we first met at the same place of work. She would look at the schedule, see when 159 was scheduled, and trade hours with a coworker to make sure we were working the same.

Someone mentioned Carl Jung. I'm reading his writings right now. I'm fascinated by his observations about intuition and the unconscious.

I remember one time when I was coming out of a store, I passed by a girl. After we walked a distance apart, we turned our heads to look at each other at the same time. Another time, I was passing a very narrow road that only allowed one person to pass. When I was walking, the person on the other side also walked over, and we both made a gesture to let the other person pass first, and then we walked towards each other at the same time, and then we both made preparations to let each other pass first again. If the other person hadn't stopped this later, we might have kept repeating this cycle... And I also saw

Sometimes more than others. It seems to come in waves.

Sometime in the early 80's, was visiting my moms house one clear, bright, sunny Sunday summer afternoon. Mom happened to be out visiting friends and relatives that afternoon. So I was at her house alone. I had a key to her house and would often go over on Sundays to raid the refrigerator and read the Sunday paper.

The Sunday paper always included a news magazine called, "Parade", which I usually found very interesting and enjoyed reading. In the back of the Parade magazine insert were classified ads. One ad in particular caught my eye. A "scam" ad. The ad was for a physic said to be in New Jersey.

Out of boredom, I concentrated on that ad for several minutes. I tried blocking all other things from my mind with the excepting of one repeating thought ... "Call me ... [my moms phone number]".

After several minutes and on a clear, bright, sunny afternoon, the phone started ringing !!! ... it startled me fiercely !!!

I answered the phone and there was nothing but static on the line. A sure indication of a faulty phone line but unexpected and without reason on such a clear beautiful Sunday afternoon.

I put the phone and the paper down, thinking what a weird coincidence.

Couple of hours later when my mom arrived home, I asked her if she'd tried to call home. She hadn't. I asked her if she'd been having trouble with her phone recently. She hadn't. I told her about the phone ringing and finding only static on the line. Mom said that's strange. Hasn't been happening with the phone. I didn't tell her about the physic ad or my concentrating on the phone ringing. Figured she'd find that pretty strange too LoL.

The phone had started ringing out of the clear blue only the one(1) time that afternoon and while I was concentrating for it to do so. Coincidence? ... of course.

Carl Jung introduced the term
synchronicity
long before our devices communicated with each other. It has always fascinated me. My ESP also seems to work on occasion.
@Babs2u thank you for the word! 🌹
"synchronicity"
Hahaha I knew the word started with S but all I could think of was serendipity...wrong of course.
