How do you feel about being the unknowing star on all these surveillance cameras?

Everybody and his grandmother have door cameras, yard cameras, and phone cameras. Then there's street cameras, store cameras, drones with cameras, and even high-resolution satellite cameras. We can't get away from them. How do you feel about being the unknowing star on all these surveillance cameras?
And especially, now, with the ability to digitally alter video?

I never give it much thought. Maybe I might if I were engaged in some kind of criminal activity. Although what really puzzles me is why we still have so much crime (UK, USA and everywhere else) despite having been surrounded by CCTV for around half a century. I thought the cams were supposed to fix all that 🤷‍♂️

They don’t do me any harm and they just might do me or someone else some good.

I do admit that I feel most of them fall under the cool gadget type of spending and technology more than an actual necessity or safety feature.

Most of the time all I see is an unrecognizable person in a hoodie that could be almost anyone under the age of forty in my neighborhood.

I find it funny how some people freak out when they see a first amendment auditor videoing. But have no concern or no idea that they're already on camera and most companies or business.

I kind of get a kick out of walking into Walmart and I look up and see the video thing flashing and it depends on my mood sometimes I'll make some inappropriate gestures or just stick out my tongue and smile and walk away.

I think the problem is is that we have the video we have the proof but people are not willing to punish them which they really should.

I'd love to bring back the work farms where you can serve a 3-36 month sentence out there tilling land and racing crops or caring for livestock.

I have cameras that monitor all the exterior of my house. I usually don't watch the monitor, but when I do (it's on my desk near my computer) if I see people going down the sidewalk, they don't look up toward the cameras as though they're in shock or angry about them.

I have stickers on exterior doors that say "This property under 24 hour video surveillance protection." The installer told me the notice is required by law to be posted on the doors. I don't know it that's true, and I don't care - the stickers may be one extra step to deter criminals.

I also have motion lights at exterior doors.

I don't feel anything. We have built a world where such things are necessary, and it's beyond the control of the individual.

I mind being constantly surveilled very much and have said so frequently. I feel like i"m in a P.O.W camp trying to escape. I hate that feeling.

Somebody used to let their dog poop on my lawn and not clean it up. That hasn't occurred since I put up security cameras. :ROFLMAO:

I intentionally bought cameras that look like traditional surveillance cameras rather than the dome type. I figured it was a better deterrent if it was obvious that people were being surveilled, and I think I was right.

Dont Care …even if we did there’s nothing we can do about it ....cameras on the roads …in shops ..in streets in cars ..in homes..we’ve got them outside for when we are away ….and a camera we’ve never used on the Google home max ….inside

And now some stores have facial recognition technology…...I believe Kmart has it

I don't mind... it's everywhere. I *do* try to keep in mind that I need to behave, though... can't break into dancing down the street in my jammies for a 5 a.m. walk unless I want to see myself in a viral video. And yes, I do have a few neighbors who'd post those videos.
I seen 2 females with their partners in Coles yesterday would have been late 20’s as a guess ….both had PJs on one even had a logo “ sleep in Sunday with a yawing teddy bear on the top “ they looked quite wrinkled like they had slept in them .
My DH said maybe it’s the custom of thier birth country …to wear PJs shopping who knows
