I'm exhausted from the Game last night. OMG. I'm spent. Have serious appointment with PC tomorrow. Important tests to take, decisions to be made based on the results. I'm ready for it.
what , ?.. what have I missed, what important decisions ?

See this is the major problem for us all in the uk regarding the NHS.. we've paid for it all our lives directly from our salaries, but those who have never paid, and immigrants legal or illegal are also entitled to free treatment, so they are absolutely filling up the hospitals.. they're using it like a general practitioner ( GP)...further to that the govt are just not building new hospitals to meet the demand.. we have just 2 NHS hospitals in this county for a million and a half people.. each hospital only has 700 beds...
How infuriating and frustrating this must be. I'm infuriated and frustrated on your behalf from 5500 miles away!!!

All the whoo haa this doc caused me in September when last blood results where taken. He acted like hysterical little baby, pushing me on to specialists before he gets a chance to actually be a doctor. We will have a confrontation about this tomorrow. He has not been giving clear answers and opinions, just moving my case along to specialists so he can do as little as possible. I'm having it out with him, he caused me a nervous breakdown.

I'll be more specific when I get blood results, probably at end of week.

good grief... ! for various reasons both countries have problems with medical systems...

Made it out of the house today. Commissary to pick up regulars, some ready made chicken meals for DH until I can get over to Costco for roasted chickens. I get two roasted chickens every other week and cut them up for DH's dinners.

Overcast nearly all day, barely made it in to the 70s. I think our few days of very nice warm 80s is going to disappear for next ten days with more overcast days. Hopefully it will rain this month, heralding Spring in the Southwest.

DH went shooting three times this week. He was in his lair cleaning guns this morning.
Nothing more soothing than a Marine who says: "I love the smell of bore cleaner in the morning....".

I never know if he is speaking of coffee or gun cleaner....until I get closer to him: ahh this morning it was Eau de Hoppe's 2.

Today I ignored all calls from my VA doctors. They had me every day last week and checked me in for 24 hours. They think they can just call me and I will just pop up on demand. Nope, I needed a break from them.
@Oldeagle66 Me and DH feel for you.;)

What gets me is the VA will call ONCE, and then you get a silly letter in the mail that says they have made "repeated" attempts to contact you.
Right. They have left ONE message with the main VA number on your phone and I can't understand a word of the rapid fire garbled message that lets me know who they are, what they want, and what is their extension number? Each one calls as if they are the ONLY one calling from the VA.

Last week DH went for his q6 month macular degeneration appt on Tuesday. He got a letter on Friday reminding him to come to his macular degeneration appt that was back on Tuesday.

Elon Musk would have a hey day saving billions in paper at the VA : on the CYA letters produced and the pharmacy inserts alone! :ROFLMAO:

I have a standing order to get my knee x rayed. Am afraid to drive 20 miles and "just show up" like they told me at the CBOC; with my luck I show up and the radiology dept is shut down due to a water leak...

I let my voicemail fill up so they can't leave anymore messages. One guy from radiation calls and expects me come in right away......and pretty forceful about it. NO ONE BULLIES ME. Besides I also have a landline just for important calls he never uses. My other doctors told me to rest for a few weeks and pack on some pounds before chemo. I can't do that running back and forth all week.

I'd be losing weight from worrying.
Did they ID the cancer type? Stage?

Radiation department is a trip.
They have their own scheduling system of some sort...and our radiation dept never answer their phone, so phone tag is set up.
Or you leave a message and they never call back.

Hopefully you have a specialized nurse monitoring your cancer care with the VA?

Yes, stage 4 throat cancer. And yes the stress had me losing weight. Doctors told me to take it easy for awhile. Plus I have had problems with that department before for prostate cancer. I ended up going to a community hospital the VA paid for.

A) 20 miles is not a road trip.
B) VA on OKC is top notch from scheduling to referrals to outside specialties.
C) He likes shooting. Buy him a sonic gun cleaner!

Last Friday, a phone call from work: "Could you come in on Monday, about eight am. Eight o'clock? Since retirement I had forgotten that there are two eight o'clocks in a day.

This morning saw me covering the morning duty manager, it's a role that I am well used to. There are fifty delivery vans and a dozen or so large trucks that have to be loaded and on their way before nine. A quick check confirmed that all were present, at least I didn't have to deal with that incurable illness: Monday-morning-itis.

Most of the van drivers were loaded and ready to go, I got the last one out of the door by eight fifteen. The big trucks take more time owing to their palletised loads needing fork lifts. Having a fork lift licence I was able to give a hand and speed things up. We had the trucks out by nine.

Following that I ran one of the smaller trucks to our servicing company about ten miles away. It was a quick turn around as a previous repair on a similar truck had been completed, I simply switched trucks and returned. Back at the company I must have been on the phone to so many of our customers my ear was phone shaped. It goes with the territory.

Finally got away around two pm, a text from the lady, had me stopping by at the supermarket to buy chicken for this evening's meal, owing to me in forgetting to get the chicken out of the freezer.

My cell phone has been somewhat busy. My new blazer will be dispatched today, the courier manager phoned me to ensure that someone is in to sign for it. The tailor also texted me a similar message, then work texted me to go back and help move some articulated trailers.

It was about half four when I finally got home. At least they won't need me tomorrow and I can get to pose in my new blazer.

Things have begun to grow in my window Italian herb garden. There are teeny-weeny little green sprouts in the Oregano, Basil and Thyme pots. Waiting on parsley and sage. There is also one little dot of green in the accompanying mint pot. The excitement is palpable! Just hope I don't kill them.
