How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I was up in time to make my before sunrise prayer. For the 4th time in 24 hours, I had to sweep the bathroom. "Little Girl" made a couple of litter messes covering up and/or jumping out of her litter box. After eating breakfast and watching a little bit of TV, I fell asleep unbeknownst to myself. I slept until 1:30 p.m. I finished loading the dishwasher (which I intended to do in the middle of the night) and ran it. I need to wash another load of dishes in there tonight. I made a quick lunch (2 cheese blintzes and tea) after which I had a nice conversation with my son.

This evening, I decided to download the H & R Block program I purchased on Amazon last week. I'm glad I didn't experience any of the issues others had reported in the reviews. I registered it and got started with the basic information required. So far it doesn't look like the information from the 2023 taxes transferred over like it was supposed to when I uploaded the PDF. The font was too small for me to be able to comfortably see what I'm doing and that forced me to finally figure out how to change the size of program fonts and desktop icons. What I had done previously only worked with websites. I'll work on my taxes "along and along", as my mother used to say. No more tonight.

@Mike

I think we may have shaken off the side effects of the shingles vaccinations although both mrs.L and I are still experiencing some pain round the injection sites. For Sunday dinner, I cooked a baked side of salmon with feta, pine nuts and herbs topping. The wine I bought to go with it wasn't the best choice, but it was OK.

Weather lousy today - rail and sleet forecast for today and tomorrow before things improve.

Good to hear you're feeling a bit better..Capt (y)

I really need to get a pneumonia jab to be honest.. I can't afford to get pneumonia for a 3rd time

Sunny morning -1 deg c.. cars are frozen up, but I don't think they'll stay like that for long....

I've been up all night, because yesterday I was really not well, and I spent just abut all day until 7.30pm in bed... trying to keep warm, and amazingly I slept most of it... I feel a bit better today , not hugely well, but we'll see what the day brings, I need to be well for this week, there's a lot happening...

Thanks Hollydolly, hope you're feeling better soon. As for vaccinations, sometimes we feel like pincushions. Dont know what it's like in England now, but here it seems like there is a policy of offering various inoculations by age. Now in our early 70's , we seem to be getting offered jabs for everything.

Mrs. L was very miffed when she received a letter from a company that had been outsourced by the NHS to provide at home eye tests if she was unable to get to the opticians. She felt like replying that she's not a ###### cripple.

9:45 and it's freezing and the sleet has started. Winter's not over yet. Stay warm.

Morning all folks....been awake since 4am, prob due to arthy pain, joints and so on....it is 17F deg out there and got a moderate snow coming down...next 3 days supposed to be very
cold and a lot of snow piling up....yay, not......no big plans for
the day, may be another pain day off......catch u later.....:love::coffee:

Good morning, Invisipeeps (and Graylings). It's cold here, but the sun is out.

Somebody point me at the shower, please, so I can get started.

Just so you know, no, I didn't make the bed yesterday. I'm still trying to figure out a way to get the job done without wearing myself out. Maybe use a regular thermal blanket instead of my weighted blanket? What'll I do without my weighted blanket? It makes me feel like I'm being hugged all night long. >le sigh<

So far there's no plan today.

This morning I woke up at 4, went back to bed next thing I knew it was 7am
Another day when I won;t be going outside its too cold, temps in the teens,windchill-20 winds gusty over 40mph My exercise today will be walking the hallway couple of times this morning/afternoon
Tonight I'll watch Kids Baking Championship at 8pm on Food Network, then to watch some of USA vs Sweden in "4 Nation Hockey Tournament', on TNT from Boston,Mass

Good to hear that you and the Misses are over the side effects.

Take it slow. This sounds like coffee, house coat and watching the outside from the livingroom.

Have you tried making it in steps throughout the morning?

Sunny, cold and Cardinals in bright red wedding coats at the feeders.

SO cancelled a medical appointment for tomorrow. If half of the weather man's dire warnings come true it will be a .was out there tomorrow. Have cat food, bird food and Merlot.

Off to the cookie production. Then breakfast and snack burritos for 12 days. Need a batch of chorizo for variety.

I did it! Showered, dressed, tidied (except for the bed) and ate breakfast. Pin a rose on me.

The grass I planted a couple of weeks ago is sprouting nicely in most places, daffodils are about ready to bud, camellia is blooming. DD has daffodils in front of the house that have budded already and are about to open.

I was today years old when I learned that it's not the critters that have kept my tulips and hyacinths from sprouting and blooming. They don't like to be planted near daffodils. I've kept planting for years in hopes that they'd grow. Who knew?

Errands today. We may get ice on Wednesday. 😒
DH was doing the low-carb with me and his blood pressure got low. He is on blood pressure meds so that is not good.
He's going to wait on diet until he speaks with his doctor. It would be nice if he could get off meds but let the doctor determine that, not his YouTube influenced wife.😊

The daffodils I replanted by the mailbox last fall are coming up! Yay. The others have already come up weeks ago so I thought the squirrels might have gotten them . These will get more sun so hopefully more flowers.

I watched some of SNL last night, and it all came back to me.

One of those larger-than-life moments: When DH and I were on Donahue a zillion years ago, we got off the elevator, and directly in front of us we saw the big red double doors that you see on SNL. We just looked at each other, speechless, thinking "How on earth did we get here?"

You ever wonder what would have happened had you turned left instead of right? Taken a bus instead of driving? Gone on that blind date instead of claiming a sore throat?

I got really weirdly tired on my walk today, and had to sit down on a bench for a while, then came back early (a few thousand steps short of my usual goal).
Now I'm suspecting I had cyanide poisoning, apparently Lima beans have to be boiled for at least 10 minutes and the water drained off, and I'd prepared mine last night in the microwave. According to chatgpt I ate one ounce beyond the safe quantity if prepared in a microwave.
Seems that it takes 24 hours to the body to get rid of the cyanide, and it can cause a low heart rate. My heart rate wasn't low on my walk when I got tired, but maybe it needed to go higher and couldn't get up there easily. But other symptoms would be dizziness and stuff, which I didn't have. So, maybe I can't blame the Lima beans.
I've never heard of this. Very good to know - thanks for the info. Did you happen to check the package for cooking directions?

I like lima beans, but usually buy them in a corn/pea/lima or other veggie mix. I can't remember the last time I bought plain frozen limas.

Now at 10am is 55F with a forecast high of 61F, so cool. Will immediately get dressed and put 2 loads into a washing machine, then start working on replacing 2 low beam headlamps on my old Forester Just watched a 2 minute YouTube video on how to do so. Had spent $40 at an Oreilly's Auto Parts last Tuesday buying a relatively bright set of Sylvania H1 bulbs, but only getting around to installing them now as will drive from dawn tomorrow 220 miles to Tahoe.

This afternoon will stage all my ski gear at the front door. Some last minute battery charging to do. Also need to power up and add files to a cheap Windows 11 laptop I use for travel but have forgot how to use. And in order to capture some skiing videos, need to review how to use the new GoPro Hero 11 camera I received via Amazon Saturday that complements my older Hero 8. Was supposed to receive the camera tomorrow Tuesday when I might not be home but contacted Amazon that contacted the vendor who then without any message, expedited the shipment, thank you Amazon appreciated.

Since it's a Presidents' Day holiday weekend, I'm not expecting to go anywhere beyond a long walk around the 'hood. 72° for a high today, so perfect weather for that!

I plan to do a little business work - invoicing and helping set up DH's new desktop computer, but those won't take too big a bite out of my day. Also want to make a batch or two of biscotti. Might mop all the floors...

It will be a mostly kicked back, play it as it lays, kind of day.
