Still not well by the looks of it. I made the soup earlier, and just put the lid on it..then the neighbours knocked with some home -made Pizza... and home-made donuts and cream.. even gave me a beer to go along with the pizza even tho' I've told them in the past I don't drink..

I just put them all in the fridge, sat down on the sofa.. feeling really exhausted and fell asleep for 3 hours 😔

It's 11pm now.. I really hope I can sleep tonight becuse I have to go to the dentist tomorrow...

Been up since 4am to get ready for AccessARide pick-up at 8 to take me to be with my grandson ALL Day.

Made an outreach to BIL yesterday on his 80th BD. Was too deaf to hear phone. Texted his daughter, my niece. Thought long & hard about doing this. Seems BIL was main reason for estrangement from my sister, though since she had Alzheimer's it is hard & stupid to place blame. I told my BFF about this. She said I made that call because I am a good person and I agree. Certainly better than them which is not a high bar to reach.

Oh well. What the hell.

Will have precious, great day today which makes up for every suffering in my life. Love this kid so much. Love conquers all.

Not for Tristan & Isolde. Sorry for that reference. Mind still cloudy from sleep & nerves. Thinking medieval keeps me calm.

I have a dental appt later this morning... dreading that....
My dental appointment is three weeks away, I must remember to book an appointment with the optician too. Today I have a haircut booked at midday, the thatch gets ever thinner but at least I still have to take my hat off. Nothing at work today but they have asked me to stop by. I think they want to see what dates I can do holiday cover.

I'm taking my other half to Southampton this afternoon, she wants to visit the Fabricland store and then we are going on to Portsmouth to look in at The Seemsstress of Bloomsbury. The area of London known as Bloomsbury is where I went to college, nowadays land is so expensive in Central London that to survive businesses are forced to move out.

Early morning to all.....woke again at 4am, guess this is my new
normal....mr artritis is visiting me today, esp in right knee, very
painful....oh well....not going out for any reason, only 2F deg out
there, don't know if it will snow again or not...need to catch up
on laundry tho...Mr. Coon is being very quiet this morning, glad
of that LOL.....catch you al latert....;):coffee:

Me too. Yesterday I picked up an old Norah Lofts novel set in the mid 15th century. I read a few pages and sighed, "Yeah, This is where I want to be." So much better than all the books my book club has been reading lately, all with obvious political agendas. Norah Lofts wrote 22 novels set in her fictional area of Layer Wood. I may just order all 22 in large print and stay there for the rest of my life.

Have a good time with precious grandson today.

This has been on my bookshelf for 40 (?) years. More like 45! 😯

Oh Hearlady, that's a good one! My favorites of hers are ones that are centered around old houses like this one:

Going to be a snow day today. Plans include calling my sister, finishing a book I've been reading, and spending some time on HOA matters. Wife and I may watch a movie in the afternoon -- I'm thinking about an old British film called I Know Where I'm Going.

Looking forward to the peace and quiet!

The snow has stopped and has moved out of the area. Right now, I'm not sure how much we got, but it looks less than those horrible predictions!

It was 7°F/-14°C when I got up. They say we will get up to around 20°/-7.5°.

I've seen live videos of the main roads in town. Not a car in sight!!! All businesses, except essential services, are closed. Well, I wasn't planning on going anywhere. I'm ready to stay home for at least a week!!!

I've been tired of not being able to go outside to take my early morning walks due to bone chilling temps, windchills e.g -20,being windy, last time I went outside Sat 2/15
This morning at 6:30 opened my livingrm blinds, noticed the flag wasn't moving, got dressed all bundled up.The temp was 17,wore my fleece hood which covered my entire face except for opening for my eyes/nose.
I couldn't;t walk around the building as I usually do all covered in ice/snow. Instead I walked around the front driveway and sidewalks next to it,they were clear of ice/snow about 5 times. It felt wonderful, cold didn't;t bother me I hope to go out mid morning and maybe this afternoon
Tonight I'll be eating in the dining room at 5:30 with my friend, Connie ,2 church members Val &Bill who I've known for yrs, the highlight of my day

An overcast morning here,, 1 degree,, when we got up.

Hope to get something done today.
Perhaps if I don't mention,, paperwork , dirty floors / house ,,,Maybe I can get something done??

Hubby has the parts to fix Old Shake ,Rattle & Roll truck.
Not sure how long it will take to get it back together.

Good news is we have someone coming Saturday, to look at one of the cars sitting in our big garage.
They want to buy it!

Now If we could find a car collector who would be interested in our Hudsons.

Google is your friend! There are probably a lot of Hudson collectors.

I didn't get up until 8. Can you even imagine? The day is half over. It's sprinkling a little outside but not even close to as cold as was predicted. Fine by me. And we didn't get so much as a single little sNOwflake. "They" lie flatter than pee on a plate.

Thanks for the heads up about Norah Lofts. I made a note on my phone because I really like that genre.

DD is taking me to the credit union to buy some money today. Gotta replenish my cash stash.

Twenty-nine days until spring. Yeeeeeeehawwwww!

I'm back the sun is still semi-shining....at almost 3pm...

The good news ..the great news actually..is that I didn't have to have any teeth extracted. Didn't even need a filling, the filling he put in before Christmas is still holding up well , so not another appointment for 3 months...

It was market day in the town where my dentist is.. so I took a new watch that I bought a little while back..to the watchmaker stallholder, and he took out 3 links for me in the bracelet...just cost £6.00... at the watch shop it costs more than twice that..

I also went to the post office, and posted a return item .. then to the supermarket for some top up stuff... and whle I was there , they were giving a whole load of food out for free that had been saved from going in the recyce bin...all on their last use by date..so I got M&S sliced wholemeal bread, some cans of beans, and some tomatoes for absolutely free..(y)

Then I went to the pub and had an all day brunch at lunchtime... but they had no eggs. This is an 800 strong Pub chain.. and at mid-day they had no eggs.. they said their suppliers are only portioning out eggs to each pub a few at a time because of this Bird flu scare.... yet when I was in the supermarket there was loads of eggs... and all at the usual price..I bought a pack of 15 eggs for £3.00

The good news as well was because it's school half term the roads are an absolute pleasure to drive on, no jams no congestion... so nice...

Good news from the dentist! Yay!
I'm envious of your 3.00 eggs! Ours are up to $11 / $13 for a dozen in some places.

@Georgiagranny ,,Been checking prices online. for the car ,, that might get sold this weekend.

Hubby has TOO many vehicles!
The trucks get used more than any of the cars.

Trying to get him to 'downsize' the cars.
Will ask him what about selling such & such car.

O, that's oldest son's car he doesn't want to sell it.
Well what about the corvette?
Think youngest son might want it,, another that oldest son wants!

By now I'm shaking my head,,,might as well give up.

:unsure: :oops::rolleyes:o_O
