Holly, go ballistic on them and keep demanding to talk to supervisors or management until they correct this stupidity.I then asked, why are my callers getting the message saying the line is temp unavailable.. which gives the impression the line is broken and will be back to normal soon.. their reply was.. ''it's just the number is temporary unavailable until it's assigned to someone else
fell in love with a woman once and never got over it we where even conversing over the oceans - damn it!oh yes.. but also he was a master at hiding things..
Precisely that Jules..absolutely, this is what I kept saying to them when they said I must have been informed..Holly, go ballistic on them and keep demanding to talk to supervisors or management until they correct this stupidity.
It would be impossible for you to contact everyone, especially medical care, that needs notification.
easier hide to things from people if they're on opposite sides of the ocean.. my husband managed to hide so much from me while living in the same house...and in the meantime as I discovered later, he was telling everyone at work , and his friends that he and I lived seperate lives ....fell in love with a woman once and never got over it we where even conversing over the oceans - damn it!
We hide our evil well .oh yes.. but also he was a master at hiding things..

would that mean you didn't exist ?Weird thought out of left field, not even sure it's original.
Just had the notion that "RoosterTeeth" would be a good username.
Your experience comes as no surprise Holly, but it's quite understandable why you are so shocked. Big corporations do ride roughshod over us. The Octopus Company provide our energy, both gas and electricity. Our monthly bills have been rather high, but given that it's winter and our house is rather big, I have paid the bills as soon as they arrived. You're not going to believe this...I can barely believe it...
I got a bit of a frantic message from my DD via whatsapp asking if I was ok, as she couldn't get hold of me by landline.... I text back and said that I was here, and I would try and ring her ...which I did... it rang out ok, she picked up, and she said.. who are you ?.. and I said pardon..?..it's mum... she said not on this number you're not...
I thought she was losing her mind ..I said of course it is , it's me calling you at home using my home phone .. she said no mum... not on the number that's on my display... which is a completely different number to yours...
So I rang the internet provider with whom I have my landline as well as my Mobile phone .. and said what's going on.. anyone calling me is getting a message saying my number is temporarily unavailable.. and I haven't had any calls for 2 days on that phone.. and when I call out people are reporting that it's coming from a different number, unrecognised to them
Well it took 3 people.. and an hour and a half to tell me that without my knowledge when they installed the new fibre optic.. they changed my landline number... no-one told me in advance, and no-one told me when they were changing it, and certainly no-one gave me the new number
I was furious !! I absolutely almost lost the plot.. that's my landline number i've had for decades and they've just removed it without my consent.. or even informing me it would happen
I then asked, why are my callers getting the message saying the line is temp unavailable.. which gives the impression the line is broken and will be back to normal soon.. their reply was.. ''it's just the number is temporary unavailable until it's assigned to someone else
I'm still in shock !!![]()
I will watch this space HC becuse I am also with Octopus, because they are the cheapest providers.....thus far anyway...Your experience comes as no surprise Holly, but it's quite understandable why you are so shocked. Big corporations do ride roughshod over us. The Octopus Company provide our energy, both gas and electricity. Our monthly bills have been rather high, but given that it's winter and our house is rather big, I have paid the bills as soon as they arrived.
Yesterday three invoices dropped out of the envelope from Octopus Energy. Gas was £325, Electricity £117 and a third, bill, for what I know not, for £1120. When I called the number on one of the invoices a pre-recorded message informed me that I was not phoning the correct number. Try arguing with a pre-recording voice that the phone number was the only one on my bill.
After speaking to a human voice, and much background keyboard clattering as my account is looked up, it turns out that I am in credit, quite considerable credit. I couldn't get a satisfactory answer as to why I was invoiced, I suggested that their incorrigible practice of over charging was tantamount to corporate theft and that I will probably be pulling the plug on them. I was promised a cheque for the full amount of credit. Watch this space.
Love is blindwasn't there an old saying "love is blind?"
We hide our evil well .
yes I remember reading that..... very , very sad.. but the phone companies have to reallocate numbers unfortunately....A rather bizarre story that appeared on the news some time ago... When a certain lady died, she was buried along with her mobile phone.
Her daughter still phoned every week, although she knew that there was no response. Imagine her shock when one day, the phone was answered. Not a ghost, but the phone company had re allocated the phone number as it hadn't been used for 6 months.
Sadly, I can relate completely, @hollydolly, as I've experienced the same .. 10 wasted years of my life. Much longer for you. It's disturbing to come to the realization that some people can live a lie, not showing their true selves for years.you have got that right... absolutely on the money....
I don't even think he presented as the real person during our marriage, that I've learned he is this last almost 4 years I think he's ultimately quite evil.... ...and I didn't know that all through 2 decades of marriage ..and 10 years friendship before that ...he hides it so well...
...and yet.. casual aquaintences said to me 30 years ago or more ago, when he was just a friend, nothing more... they said to me there's something about that guy that is very unsettling, they would often say that he gave them the creeps.. and I would think...how , what are they seeing, they didn't even know him properly, most of them had only spoken to him once or twice,,, ...
I'm not a person who is attracted to creepy types, . not that I was attracted to him then, he was just my friend..I was already in a relationship, but to me he was just a nice, pleasant, albeit quiet guy... .... but as those friends predicted ... he is what they said he was.. they saw something in him that I only got tiny glimpses of during 2 decades of marriage... How ?..I'll never know...
it's incredible isn't it, Pinks..?...3 decades he hid his real self... I keep thinking how was I so easily fooled when normally I can pick up on people very easily...Sadly, I can relate completely, @hollydolly, as I've experienced the same .. 10 wasted years of my life. It's not your fault you didn't see. What you saw was the good you had together, you weren't looking for blemishes on a fair face. You didn't see because you didn't look, and why should you have?it's incredible isn't it, Pinks..?...3 decades he hid his real self... yep that has to be it..I can't say I thought he was perfect, far from it.. there was times when it was terrible, but I always made excuses for that after all he is a human being, and mostly he was a nice person .. I didn't realise what was lurking beneathIt's not your fault you didn't see. What you saw was the good you had together, you weren't looking for blemishes on a fair face.
