Yesterday was windy and rainy and I didn't venture out at all. Eldest granddaughter texted me a few times telling me about the two plays she and her dad had seen in Stratford Upon Avon. They are coming back home today so am looking forward to seeing them tomorrow and hearing all about their mini trip away.

Weather forecast is good here so I'm going to get the bus to the shopping centre on the outskirts of town. Hoping to buy some curtains. Youngest son and grandson coming round later on today.

damp start to the day forecast is for cloud...

Just had a text from the London hospital telling me I have an appt with the consultant for my knees on Monday... Yikes, I had no idea.. so Monday's going to be a medical day because I have an appt wth my GP in the morning.. then I have to drive into the city in the afternoon.. *sigh*

Anyway at least they're seeing what they can do about the torn cartilage in my right knee.. so that's good...

I'd booked a slot at the garage to have my car battery tested at noon on Monday... so I'll have to cancel that....
 
well after a bit of pushing and prodding and 'greasing the monkey' and then 3 cups of highly asian spiced soups the heavens opened and on the road to recovery from that strange impaction experience!! thanks to all for the suggestion they are not lost and I will investigate them now i have a more leisurely time of rest

For once, we've got good weather. Washing is done and hanging on the line to dry in the sun and wind. I've been replacing glass panels, that were damaged by the storms, in my small greenhouse. Fortunately I had been given a load of reclaimed greenhouse glass and polycarbonate panes, so I just had to buy the retaining clips.

The bad news is that the weather is forecast to be cold and windy again.
 
Good morning. Slept last night from 8pm to 5am. Feel better. Told my son yesterday I woke up at 1:30 am and he went beserk for some reason. Told me he told me I should never tell him that, that it upsets him. Well, he dumped on me and had a wonderful day, but he brought me down with his bizarre reaction, so I felt triggered, sad & angry all day.

He and grandson are coming today! I'm such a boring old woman, all I care about is my grandson, son.

I still like rock 'n roll. Told my son if I'm ever comatose to play the Beatles/Stones/Led Zep, Crosby, Stills & Nash etc. so I could die happy.
 
We went to one of our favorite places for fajitas yesterday. They still have a Friday special of fajitas, drink, chips, salsa, beans and salad, for $9.99. It is so good and good service too! Bonus: If you don't have the chips or tortillas, it is a fine low carb meal.
It's 23°. Ugh. Some patches of snow hanging around in the shadows. Still grateful. It will kill bugs and fungus for the spring.

Cold and windy out there is a good time to think about seeds, plants and harvests. I turned a DVD binder into a seed book.
 
DD has Prime. She is going to order a new Keurig for me. With luck, it'll be here this afternoon. Without luck, it'll be here when it gets here.

It's possible (barely) that I will get my arse in gear and crank up the leaf blower so a little more cleanup in the garden can get done.

Thinking about starting some flower seeds indoors. So far only at the thinking stage.
 
First of all, to all you SF members who responded to my posted report about my having dental surgery... I've really appreciated your well wishes. Thank you.

I woke up this morning to above-freezing outdoor temperature, and the sky was gradually brightening, but was/is also somewhat overcast. The weather forecasters are confidently stating serious rain will be starting by 1pm. While sunshine would be nice, we do need precip because rain at the elevation of our home signals moisture will come down as snow at the higher elevations. We need the snowpack to increase up there, to lessen the possibility of forest wildfires threatening our homesites in the summer.

Well, the combination of ibuprofen and acetaminophen, as prescribed by the dentist, has eased the discomfort of dental-surgery recovery. In the afternoon & evening after the procedure, I was taking pretty heavy doses at about three-hour intervals. Next day, lighter dosage every five hours or so. Yesterday (and today, I expect) lighter & less frequent. Definitely, welcome progress.
 
Weird series of dreams, interrupted a couple of times. Because of the interruptions one of the characters seemed somewhat familiar by the end, as if events had occurred spaced over a couple of weeks.

Mostly in two locations: a furniture store with a cafe in it fronting on a river. Some sort of outdoor music venue across the river from that.

This character reminds me of a YouTuber I find irritating, but somehow we kept having coffee together. I have no idea now what we talked about. It all ended with her invitation to just drop in on her any time, after giving me her address to her new home she'd just moved into.

Very odd for many reasons, but also... who does that any more since the Covid years? Do people just drive up unannounced and knock on the door for a visit any more without even a call first?
