Strange Coincidences?
This past Tuesday, February 25 was the 38th year of my daughter's passing. It is also George Harrison's birthday, he would have been 82 I believe. That's important to me, as George was this little girl's (me!) favorite Beatle.
Anyway........
On Tuesday, I had a doctor's appointment. Then I had shopping to do, two different stores. I was going to go home after doctor, watch "Young&Restless" then go back out to do the shopping, BUT, my doctor made a special effort to get me in and out quickly. So, I left being able to shop at at least one store, go home, watch Y&R, go back out. However, the one store I went to surprisingly had both the items I needed, so finished my shopping in time to watch my show and did not need to go out again.

The weather was so nice I thought after Y&R I would go out and read. Then, being tired, I changed my mind and decided to stay home.

Unexpectedly, my woman's collective pharmacy called to say they had already filled my prescriptions given to them just an hour ago from my doctor visit. This is most unusual, it usually takes them a whole day or even two. So, I decided to pick them up, drag myself out, though tired. They are only a block away.

Leaving my apartment I immediately ran into Robert, my favorite of the crew who work in maintaining our co-op. He said "You could use a girl." My mind flew to my daughter, but I thought Robert is saying I need an aid to care for me? Then, he said again "you could use a girl." So, I asked him what he meant and he said "You should have had a daughter as well as a son."

Well, I was shocked. I told him what day it was. Of course, Robert never knew I had a daughter. We were both shocked.

I left the building, went to the pharmacy. At the counter, they had filled a bowl with European chocolates. I was urged to take one. When my order was filled, I was again urged to take one when, unexpectedly the pharmacist takes back my bag of prescriptions, dumps ALL the many chocolates in the bowl into the bag. "I want you to have them all," she said.

I left, stunned. My daughter said hello to me, then gave me a gift...........

Didn't she? Or am I just a silly old woman who mourns the loss of her daughter? Those were coincidences, right? Strange coincidences..........

Saw Robert Wednesday morning as I was leaving for AccessARide to visit my grandson. Robert thinks he was "used" to send me a message of love. Out of the blue, picked out of the blue for my girl to say "I love you mommy."

"I love you Mommy, and I send you this gift of chocolates, your favorite."

Nah. Can't be real. Just strange coincidences.

Good Morning, Everyone. :)

Yesterday was a beautiful day here and it's looking like it will be similar today. So, Yay!

Husband and I took a scooter ride to the salon yesterday where I had about 6 inches (maybe a bit more) cut off my hair. It is just touching my shoulders now and I'm loving it!

Hope everyone is feeling good today. Have some coffee.

It's 3.20pm now ...i went out , and was out for 4 hours, and that was not dawdling anywhere. i drove the 40..turns out it's actually 45 miles..but hey.. round trip to return my item.. very easy , no problem at all.. honestly that makes such a change these days..

It was very sunny, but it was bitter cold, absolutely everyone was complining... ooled by the sun everyone was dressed with lighter clothes...mistake !!!

I passed a nail salon, so I stopped there and had my nails done ...

came out of there and went inoto the charity shop next door...and couldn't believe my eyes, spotted the exact chest of drawers I've been looking for , for weeks, and is really expensive.. and they were selling it for £45 in excellent condition ... with £20 delivery charge.. so I bought it of course..

While in there...look what I saw.. a wooden Ewbank carpet sweeper from 1920.. over 100 years old...

In the town i was in, you can't prk anywhere ear the shops that you need to get to... o by the time I'd bought a few things, they were heavy tocarry all the way back to the car. The town was really busy..probabaly borught out because o the sunshine... but anyway by the time I got back to the car I think my one arm was 3 inches longer than the other

The I went into the supermarket to get some bread & milk..and while in there got some of this pink cheese...

@hollydolly passes a nail salon and takes advantage! Reminds me of my Ma, who, when she would call (at least 3 times a day) she would say "I just passed a phone so HAD to call!" I loved that. LIke the two of you have no will of your own!

I passed a chocolate shop and Had to go in!
that's funny..lol... but the point was actually that my usual nail salon is 10 mile in the opposite direction to where I live so being as I was almost 30 miles from it , I thought I may as well have them done there. Actually for Vietnamese they were very friendly.. they even brought me a bottle of water..chatted about where I lived, impressed I'd come ino their salon frrom such a distance etc.. nice people.

Cranberry and cream cheese seems a nice mix.

Springtime in Southern California ==> birds in our garden

German Children's Songs - Alle Vögel sind schon da (English translation # (1st verse)

All the birds are already there
all the Birds, all.
What a singing music playing,
Whistling, chirping, tirilern!
Spring wants to invade,
comes with singing and sound

Alle Vögel sind schon da,
alle Vögel, alle.
Welch ein Singen, Musiziern,
Pfeifen, Zwitschern, Tiriliern!
Frühling will nun einmarschiern,
kommt mit Sang und Schalle.

The Blue Jay is throwing seeds to the ground and then flies down to eat them............a bird is picking the mirror of our car

IMG_7787.JPGIMG_7794.JPG

Hummingbirds come every few minutes; we even had them breeding under our carport.

Hawks are breeding in our trees every Spring.................................a Heron?

Such a lovely bright day, it looks like summer until you go out, it's very cold!

I went to the supermarket and there was a lady at the customer service desk wearing sandals and a light summer dress, she must have been freezing. I'm not going out without my winter woollies, remember the saying: "Ne'er cast a clout til May is out". To be honest, when I first heard that proverb, I had no idea what a "clout" was other than a clip round the ear! But, apparently, it's an old English word for cloth or clothing. Makes perfect sense now :)

Anyway, as it was so nice out and I was well wrapped up, I went for a walk and the only money I spent was in the supermarket, goodness I have been good lately!

Apart from a bit of tidying up and empty the Dyson, I haven't really done much else. It's been a nice laid back sort of day and it's now 15 minutes past 5pm and still light outside. For the first time in a long while, I just thought, once upon a time I would be finishing up a day's work soon and looking forward to the weekend instead :)

I don't know @Pepper but, sometimes things happen which make us pause for thought. Robert mentioned a daughter, the pharmacist gave you a gift of chocolates, which brightened up a sad day. Sounds like a gift to me. ❤️

I noticed something today I haven't paid attention to until now. I was out looking for a new type-c charging cord my phone, and there are no more phone stores in my neighborhood....NONE. Seems like just yesterday there was one on every corner. And I definitely wasn't paying $13 for one at CVS or Amazon. I just found one online at Walmart for $6.
