I am glad to see you here !Of course. I did so for more years than not, before it became and everyday thing.

Phones can be useful in many ways. I have very few added apps to my phone. But do have excellent grocery app used for years. I log doctor and other apps in the calendar. I use alarm at 9 pm to remind us to take nightly pill. A few other needed things. What I do not do, is waste time taking useless selfies, use phone while I have company of any kind, or at a restaurant-and do not use while driving in anyway other than GPS. Oh and sometimes I call people! The voice is a dead give away as to how you or they really are![]()
Since my phone is archaic , sometimes I simply take it out of the old leather protective pouch I carry it in and act like I'm speaking but quietly , so many look like a deer caught in headlights when they see it .Could I live without my phone nor internet?
That's an easy answer. The alternate is not to live. I want to live.
And it would probably be the healthiest thing that ever happened to me.
Only in Miami will you go to a wedding and the Bride and Groom are texting while up on the Alter .I don't have a phone. When I was working, I had a phone and was on call 24/7. Never again...
I do use the internet and enjoy it. Although, I could get along without using the internet... Our landline phone used to work fine, when that was all, we had...
you can switch them off , when you don't want to be disturbed.. I often turn mine off.. especially if I want to have a lie in , and don't want people calling before whatever time I'm going to get up.....or if I'm having a quick nap during the dy...I don't have a phone. Holly...if I had one it would be switched off all the time! Point being I don't want to be interrupted. When I worked, I had to put up with it, but no more...you can switch them off , when you don't want to be disturbed.. We have to turn our phones off in the Doctors waiting room etc as well
Marriage as is has its difficulties with people growing apart , etc but I think technology has made it that much worse for younger people as they do not live in reality and lack of communication .they are Doomed before they even get started![]()
Yes .I could go back to life without a cell and the internet. found that people spoke more... Strike up a conversation anywhere with anyone... Now, as I wrote, people are always staring at their phones... Just found like more personable... back in the day...

WTH is wrong with people???Only in Miami will you go to a wedding and the Bride and Groom are texting while up on the Alter .
let me add that native Miamians are not that friendly .'' Strike up a conversation anywhere with anyone ''
I do that now especially with tourists from other countries as many here , try out my jokes .
I think it has to do with so many having an addiction to take photographs of every thing they do to post it on Facebook and Instagram.Yes .
I go to a few places to get take out food and all kidding aside sometimes you see the entire family sitting at the table on their phones be it texting , videos , chatting with someone else .
You go to the beach and people are in knee deep water on their phones .
Lol great video thanks , worth watching and what he points out is so true . He did a great job .I think it has to do with so many having an addiction to take photographs of every thing they do to post it on Facebook and Instagram.
I do also, but it was a lot easier when they didn't have a phone in their hands...'' Strike up a conversation anywhere with anyone ''

Exactly. I too would feel very disconnected if I didnāt have my iPhone. Family and friends I can keep in touch with via text or yakking on the phone. I also like keeping in touch with people here at the forum. Iāve met a lot of nice people whom I keep in touch with. .That's one of the best things about our phones/the internet, the way it connects us all. If I didn't have access to the internet, I would feel disconnected from the hive.
well that's me then... I won't be visiting Miami..if people are so rude..that would complately spoil my holidaylet me add that native Miamians are not that friendly .
You open a door for them and they give you the finger but tourists from Europe, Australia , Canada are great .
what's worse is people these days are talking as they're walking along the road..alone ! They don't have a phone in their hands they're talking into a Bluetooth piece..which you can't see.. so it looks like they're demented..I went out to my backyard and just out of the corner of my eye I noticed a young man walking around on the apartment deck next door. Suddenly, I heard him say something & so I turned and looked up at him to ask him what he said to me. Turns out he was talking loudly to someone over his cellphone! I felt a bit stupid and a lot peeved at the same time at him for talking so loudly!![]()
