@hollydolly

I saw your doppelganger today! We were driving along, in an area called "the beaches", when I spied a woman exit a storefront .. I immediately recognized YOU! The only thing different, was, she had a fringe (bangs) .. but, it was definitely your clone.
weell I used to have a fringe , in fact I keep changing from having one and then getting fed up because it needs regular cutting, and growing it out... let me see if I can find one.. how about this one..?

I heard the British have a stiff upper lip. I am not British but also have one: a wasp tried to crawl into my nose. When I stopped it from doing so, then I got stung. Now I also have a stiff upper lip.

Left: I don't need to take a shower; my little girl takes care of that. She is getting increasingly enthusiastic in washing me.
Right: I have lived in our small town for some 50 years, but I just saw the first time a cow in our neighborhood. What else can I expect?

Today I have a crew cleaning our yard, like taking down several insect infested trees. We also need a new gas water heater. I read the longer the warranty, the better the quality. At Home Depot I found one with a 12 year warranty; that's it. Now I am seeking a plumber to hook it up to the gas line, etc. At the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) I posted under accredited "plumbers" a note about what I need, and I am waiting now for what's coming up. At the same time, I also want finally to have an earthquake gas line shutoff valve installed.

That was a bust! 3 scrappy inches of powder put the monkey wrench in the ski racing today. They had mechanical groomers and humans foot packing the course all night to no avail. The downhill races were delayed twice and finally cancelled around 2pm due to high winds, it's currently gusting to the low 40mph's due to the front passing. Unfortunately the race was actually cancelled and not postponed to another day. Tomorrow will be womens and mens super-G; I'm sure it'll come off as scheduled.

It was a hot sweaty day; now sunny and 38°F. Mobs of awful skiers and my tired legs had me download on the gondola rather that risk skiing all the way down. Only the 2nd time I've ever dowloaded.

The spud had a dusting of sour cream this morning. Note the fog.(n)

This was taken before cancellation.

The epicenter of the alpine ski racing world is the bottom of Warm Springs. This is the bridge over WS.

I had a lab appointment at 8:30, so we left at 8:00, plenty of time. I was apprehensive, as always, because I hate needles. Sometimes I bleed so slowly that they have to fiddle with the needle or (a couple of times) stick me more than once. But today, things went better than expected. Check in was a breeze. All I had to do was click the link that was texted to me before we left the house, instead of using the check in device on site that requires scanning the front and back of my license and insurance card.

Evelyn, the young lady who took me called Ronny to draw my blood. I greeted him with a smile and said “you’re going to use a butterfly right?” He said “this is big girl territory”....I said…”You don’t want a piece of this. They say “don’t start no rootin’ and tootin’, won’t be no cuttin’ and shootin’” He said..”I like that!” then we all cracked up laughing. Positive energy filled the space.

I was so busy talking with them that I hardly noticed when he inserted the butterfly. I had made it a point to drink a lot of water this morning and that seemed to help with my blood flow, though it still flowed slower than what’s normal (I gathered). I appreciated Ronny's gentle touch, Evelyn assisting him with getting the blood to flow faster so it wouldn't hemolize and not having to be stuck twice.

Speaking of drinking a lot of water, Evelyn also provided me with what they call a “hat”, the device that goes on top of the toilet seat to catch the urine. It’s designed so the sample can then be easily poured into the sample container. That was another thing I was apprehensive about because I have difficulty providing samples using those little cups. This time I provided more than enough...more than I ever have.

After we left there, we stopped at Home Depot. I wanted to get another heater to replace the one I inadvertently broke. They were all out of the kind I want. Then my son stopped at a supermarket along the way home. While he was in there, I ate the half cream cheese sandwich I brought from home and the Trader Joe’s dark chocolate sunflower seed cups (similar to Reese’s peanut butter cups) that my son gave me. We got to the lab about 8:20 and after those errands, we got home about 9:40!

I ate again, then took an impromptu nap. My son and I sat and talked this evening while he sorted beans and I refilled two pill cases. I had a build up on the dining table of mail and other papers that had to be cleared first. Once again there are more things that will be left undone today because I’m going to relax the rest of the evening, catch up with posts here on the forum, call my BFF, watch T.V. and at some point, eat my mini fudge sundae. 😛

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

We went to our Daughters Spring musical play. They sang for 2 1/2 hours. With another concert at 7 Pm. Those thing cost around $8000 to purchase the rights to perform. Momma Mia. A very difficult act to follow I easily add.

My early walk at 7am ,temp was 25 as I walked around the building one time before breakfast
This morning at 10am Marcia will be picking up me & neighbor Bill to go to our church service at 10:30. Afterwards I've invited her & hubby, Dave for brunch at noon, Bill will join us. I don;t see Dave as often as I do Marcia will be a great chance to catch up with him They are my 'Buffalo family' my brother& sister live far away,John in Greenwich, CT, Mary 'across the pond' outside of London, England
The rest of my day read local paper, may go for afternoon walk

Another Sunday where a neighbour is driliing and hammering, and wood sawing .. and doesn't believe those who work all week deserve a rest on a Sunday... every Sunday without fail... Thank goodness they are not next door to me... they're far enough away that they are just an irritation when I have my windows open, but the poor people who live next door t them get this every Sunday !

Good morning all!! I had a WONDERFUL time at the rink yesterday!!!! I did fall (on my bad knee, of course!) right before leaving, but I'll survive. The fall was caused by the same woman who, 20 years ago, was the cause of my broken wrist, while skating!!! Needless to say, I was really upset with her...AGAIN!

( This is where I go into a name calling tyrade! #*^@~*)

It's expected to be a beautiful day, so I'll be outside, continuing with the cedar tree removal process.

It's morning again. I swear you can set your clock by it...happens every. single. day.

There's more to be done in the garden today while the weather is warm and sunny. Who wants to volunteer to come and help? Hello? Speak up! Rain tomorrow so this opportunity is only for today.

My hometown in Michigan's UP is getting a storm. By the time it's over, they'll have about 12" of new sNOw. So glad I'm missing it.

That has to be exhausting for the poor next door neighbors.

There is a medical center directly across a small street from our house. The early morning landscapers in spring/summer and snow shovelers in winter can be annoying. At least though they are a business and really not thinking about the houses across the street, just doing their jobs. Somehow that helps a bit.

Good Morning, Everyone 🤗 :coffee: 🌻

I have a little more planting (really, potting) to do today as my wonderful husband has found me the blueberry bush I wanted. Yay!

It’s Sunday so I can walk the dog around the medical centers for a more secluded walk. Ooo, and the car stops across the street are all mine!

Hope everyone is feeling good today. 🙂

It's lashing down of rain here... not cold, I even have the windows cracked open a little bit, but very heavy rain 🌧️...⛈

DD just rang she says I sound much better than on Thursday.. but of course the congestion is driving me nuts along with the cough, I don't know how to clear the congestion...

Coffee, sunshine, risk looking outside, determine rest of the day:>)

Still working on my pot of coffee!
Izzi went back to bed. SO is off on a play date.
I got 2/3 of the front beds cleaned up and will tackle the rest today. A friend will come and get Holly Hock plants. They did really well last year. Up to seven feet, full of blooms. SO used rebar as stakes. Rosemary is blooming!
Had a long call with a good friend in Alabama. I really miss our 5:00 am walks rain or shine.
Laundry is dry.
It will be a good day.

I'm following, with interest, the brouhaha that's going on in the Spousal Equivalent's motorcycle riding club.

I'm a little short on details but apparently there has been a power struggle with a new faction wanting their guy to be the Supreme Exalted Grand High Excellent Poobah and the present Supreme Exalted Grand High Excellent Poobah not wanting to step down.

Feelings have been hurt, sides have been taken, accusations have been made and some, including the SE, are moving over to another chapter.

It's like being back in Junior High School and everybody wants to be homeroom queen. You know how to separate the men from the boys? Have them join a motorcycle riding club.

Some LONG overdue yard work yesterday (which my back complained about non-stop and definitely let me know this morning that she was NOT pleased), but apart from a few leftover functions (bag-hauling and hedge-trimming which I've also procrastinated against for some 2 years now -- the damned hedges aren't even in my property, but they've encroached to the point where I've gotta cut them back to the fence line), I'm good with yard work until...

...tomorrow.

It just never goes away.

*Sigh*

Have I said this week that I hate (and I mean absolutely HATE) yard work?
