Our version of retirement: Living a childhood dream

No
My son may go solar up at the
but
At our age, we considered it too much of an investment
to realize a return

Here, un town, our elect is quite economic
Thanks I asked because one of my daughters somewhat lives on outskirts in California and they swear by solar but yes I agree the return at certain age is not there .

We considered solar after my California son had panels installed and now he runs his whole house and powers both his electric vehicles with solar.

A lovely gentleman came by to give us all the info but it soon became obvious that we wouldn’t live long enough to pay it off and realize the benefits, unlike my son who paid for it outright, plus he’s young.

Precisely

We pay $60/mo for elect

The total quoted price amounted to $50k

That's a 60 yr time period to realize any 'savings'

The lads moved on to the increase in home value

I moved on to 'home value' when the units (firmly fastened to my roof) became outdated

Igave them a sack of plumbs for their efforts and wished them well
