"normal life heh - wow there's a heavy topic to throw around!!

Glad to hear it .

You will have to take it easy for 2 months BUT especially first 2 weeks and you might want to ask for stool softeners just to play it safe first 2 weeks .

I have had friends who had it done after few months all went back to normal life some even labor jobs .
Two months? Of course it depends on the individual, but I was told not to do any heavy lifting for 4 weeks. I had opted for a local anaesthetic which has a lot of advantages over a general one, especially in recovery time. I asked about a laxative, and was advised to use one only if necessary.

A long day yesterday. I was tasked with walking about 5 miles of improved public footpath down in the old home town. It used to be a mineral railway line but had got very muddy and in generally bad condition. Now widened and surfaced with good access and drainage. A shared route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders - through open land and woodland.
I photographed it all a couple of years ago when the proposals for improvement were made. Now the work is complete my job was to photograph the finished scheme. And what a gorgeous day it was. They always want end of schem pix on a nice sunny day for some reason :D Five miles of photography - each way. So - this morning I'm leading a group Tai Chi practice in the park and not much else :)

Been up since one am. Not complaining, slept Wednesday night 7am till 5am Thursday, due to anesthesia. I'm okay though, got to watch my new soap on demand at the hour. So much laundry has piled up again............at a loss for words about how little clean stuff I have on hand. Got to do something about the mess of this apartment. I need a wife!

One of my four daughters drove me to Ohio yesterday for my 84-year old sister's funeral. Two of my other daughters joined us plus one son-in-law. (One of them had taken me to Ohio in March to see my sister one last time before she passed away.) My 88-year old, wheel-chair bound sister was also there. Both sisters have very large families and many of them were there as well. (They both have great-grandchildren in the same age range, infant to 14 years old, as my six grandchildren.) We got there in time for the wake, and the funeral was today. Then we drove home; daughters jobs prevented us from staying longer.
To make it worse, the husband (he's 65) of my niece (daughter of my sister who died) is in the terminal stage of advanced cancer. I expect to be going back to Ohio in the near future.
what an emotionally charged day it must have been for you and your family , and will be again in the near future.

Daughter will be coming over to visit for the afternoon. Her s/o will be at an all-day seminar at a nearby College, and will pick her up afterward.

It's daughter's birthday weekend. First year that she will be away for it. We will make up for it, later
on.

Have a good day, and weekend, everyone!

Postman just been.. he was telling me that now they're only allowed to deliver mail every 2 days, and in between they have to become a parcel service..... , and he's tracked everywhere he goes, the time his engine is left idling, how long it takes him to get someone to asnwer the door, and they're penalised for it...

No wonder they're short staffed at Royal Mail

Gardener is coming around in about an hour to cut the hedges... and I'm going out before he gets here... he's ok to work while I'm out...

It's Friday. What to do, what to do?
I dunno. What?

Good morning, y'all. It's gonna be a nice day and probably the last of the 80-degree temps for a week or two. I'm hoping DD is willing to cruise the garden centers for a few plants that I'd like for filling in some bare-ish spots. If not, I'll probably just sit around on my dead center.

Well "April showers bring May flowers" and pretty much on cue my apple tree is seeing its own begin to open. Redbuds have been out almost a week and crabapples, ornamental pears, and such about the same (some a little longer). Lots of less familiar tweeting as migratory birds join the native chorus.
