Sometimes ya just got to be happy with what cha did. Lol
I know it's not that I physcally feel I've done little today... for some reason my mind has it that I sat around today..

I'd been watching tv this evening, and for example, and I went to get up after 2 hours which believe me is a long time for me to watch TV..and as I went to get up my back really hurt, and I thought to myself this is what I get for sitting around all day... for some reason my brain was telling me I'd done nothing all day...except I had done a lot !

Yesterday I hauled a 5-drawer dresser to the Granddaughter's new place 65 miles northwest.
Driving rain most of the afternoon. We had to unload in the rain. We got dampish wet but laughed.

Most likely you need to do slo-streatching, and thas what you telling yourself too ? Muscles need to stretch. we can get lazy with that.
I try to work on those 4 different times during a day, but I forgot yesterday.

My limited experience dealing with people in health care is most are professional , outstanding people but there are a few who should have been fired long time ago .
This guy was REALLY young, like fresh out of med school young.

well this forum has suddenly become quite exciting and rapid and all about religion and I think it has all been stimulated by the guy with the stand-up fuzzy technicolor hair!!!

Early good morning folks!!! Up at 4am again, so what....47F deg

I've been wrestling with this decision for years now, but I finally decided to pull the trigger and cut down a Japanese maple that has simply grown to the unmanageable point. Probably 12 ft high, trunk about 7 inches in diameter. Too close to the house and my days of standing on ladders with a hedge trimmer in one hand and desperately hanging on to the ladder in the other are OVER. I don't bounce very well any more and while the tree isn't guilty of anything other than surviving, it's gotta go.

This ain't my first rodeo with trees and shrubs that the previous owner of this property put in. Crepe myrtle bushes I got rid of years ago. Damn things grow like weeds. Another couple of trees planted within a couple of feet of the house (that's REALLY stupid, IMHO) I cut down 7 years ago.

An entire assortment of shrubs which led to incredible crowding in the same area as the Japanese maple I got rid of a couple years ago.

Did I mention today that I hate yard work and gardening? I don't mind a little bit of pruning, but the guy who planted all this stuff was a lunatic.

Well I was surprised that the Picanha steak does indeed taste like rump. I cooked it medium rare..more on the rare side.. and it was very tender . However it's much more expensive than Rump.. so I might not buy it again...
I must admit I've never heard of Picanha steak. I can get a very nice Aberdeen Angus steak from Aldi, but I see that the price has gone up quite a bit recently. It's become an occasional treat.

On the point of taking blood samples, when I lived in Hampshire, the nurses at the health centre were useless at getting blood from me.
Here in Scotland, they have no trouble at all, so they must use a different technique and/or different needles. I still don't like it.

I've been guilty of planting things in the wrong place. I put a pampas grass in a little space next to our garage. It grew way out of that space and the worst part is how hard they are to dig out!

Just rolled outta the bed. Sitting on the patio with my coffee, all bundled up because it's only 43. Brrr. The sun is out so yay for that. After two days of sitting on my dead center, there's a lot to be done in the garden.

I haven't worked up enough nerve to ask DD to take me to drop off the application. She's gonna raise Cain about it.

My early morning walk at 7,went around the building twice a,heard a couple of robins along the way, temp was 53
Today, I invited my former boss ,Andy from the pharmacy dept we worked at in local hospital for lunch. I've stayed in contact since I retired in 2011,last time I saw him was 3 yrs ago,he's now retired. At first,I didn't like him,but over the 27 yrs I was there, we became friends. I'm looking forward to seeing him
The rest of my day, hope to take afternoon walk,if its not raining, read today;s NYT,after dinner do the crossword puzzle

Start with coffee. Then move to the rest of the day. It will get better.

We're on what they used to call a "death watch" today. The Spousal Equivalent's brother, who just visited us last week with his wife, had another heart attack yesterday and is in very, very bad condition.

He had to go into the hospital the day after they got home from Florida but they sent him home a couple of days later, wanting him to come back later this week for more tests. Last evening, his wife found him nonresponding and she didn't know how long he hadn't been breathing.

He's in the hospital on a respirator, heavily sedated. Tests show more serious damage to his heart. So far, they don't know how much brain damage he has suffered.

We're just waiting for updates. Vacation is on hold.

For most of their lives, the brothers were estranged (they never got along as kids), which was a great source of sorrow to their mother. When their mother died, they actually started talking, which segued into visiting and now they talk on the phone at least once a week and get along well. I am quite fond of both him and his wife and enjoy visits from them.

Today is a Bank Holiday Monday to celebrate the anniversary of VE day. The pity is that it's such an overcast day after 2 weeks of glorous sun, and heat...
I've put the pictures on this thread.. Celebrating VE day in the UK Today

I just wanted to show this picture... Prince William is 6 feet 3inches tall.. his son prince George is about 2 inches above his fathers' shoulder.. he's only 11 years old... can you imagine how tall he's going to be ?

After a cool morning, it's been a great day. We dumped a load of garden waste - surprised that the recycling centre was open - and then went to the May fair in town. A tad disappointing, but it's only a small market town. There were plenty of stalls, but nothing too exciting on sale. At least along with bagpipes, there was a very good silver band for entertainment.

I didn't mention in my OP about pampas grass, but since you brought it up that's another scourge that I got rid of about 4 years ago. Cutely arranged around the electrical box and two commo towers (not to mention the ridiculous "picker" bushes that remained within), that pampas grass is no more.

God, I hated that stuff.DSC00377.JPG

Woke up with left leg sciatica today. I'm blaming it on a new blanket.

Picked up prescriptions, including higher-dose Mounjaro for 4 weeks. So far so good, copay was the same. Can't wait to feel the symptoms though.

Got a health insurance mailing showing great deals on hearing aids covered. Almost makes me sad that I'm not deaf. Ok, not really, just FOMO.

Is this enough to keep me registered for the Old Fart Olympics of Aches and Pains?
