I'm back from my trip to Italy.

It was beautiful (flowers blooming everywhere, trees laden with oranges and lemons, gorgeous statues, etc) and the weather was perfect the entire trip (except for a few minutes of fat sprinkles one time when we were all waiting to get on a boat).

I ate a lot of pizza and gelato!
It wasn't too crowded (mostly). I particularly liked Rome, Florence, Venice, Amalfi, and Pompeii.

What a perfect trip you had honeynut.
Loved your pictures and it's that you in front of the cathedral ,,,,,you're so very pretty.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us and if you have anymore pictures I'd enjoy them too and tell me, Did you like the pizza?🍕

The forum knows my circumstances, but I've not written about all of the ramifications, etc. In fact, I've not written much about the resolution.

Life isn't plain sailing, is it? What I can do is accept change, and set a goal of ensuring my partner is happy and content, as much as it is in my power.

That said, I look at some things and think........... What's up with that? :D
Please leave room for yourself.

This morning removed the incision bandaging, leaving just the Steri-Strip tape. Then took my first long shower in a week though have felt clean all week. Continuing to feel less sore moving about but GI tract is a bit yukky due to a med and the adjacent healing that interferes with neural controls. Took smartphone photo of incision area that at least to me looks ok that expect to show to surgeon tomorrow morning during his KP week after surgery follow-up video appointment. Really nice guy that likes my lifestyle.

Bite-sized shredded wheat breakfast then skinned a russet potato to make a mashed potato lunch as will continue to eat softer foods for awhile. Have lost weight this week. Normally me at 65.5" about 137# and as much as 142# over the last year after binging, but now only 132#.

Spent most of the afternoon looking at customizing pc desktop builds, first with Dell and then HP with both looking to be about $1.6k including loaded software. At this preliminary point, am likely to go with a ceramic white HP Omen 35L chassis with an HP micro-ATX motherboard with an AMD Radeon RX 7600 graphics card. Omen is HP high end gaming model with plenty of expansion slots. Won't commit till my health is more normal in maybe a week.

This last week have suddenly been receiving a few each day annoying telemarketing phone calls that all have different numbers likely using VPN and a few types of sales pitches all likely from the same business phone system bank. At this point just answering without saying anything, noting how long they have patience to hold the line before ending calls.

Somewhat depends on the size of the incision, scope of internal repairs, and method of surgery with robotic least invasive. My surgery was "Direct Open" . If a hernia is caught early, there may be little tissue cutting. In my case, I waited 4 years so the herniation was large.
I hope you're up and about soon. I didn't wait to see about my hernia, but the NHS being so inefficient, it took 3 months to see a specialist, and another 3 months wait to actually have it repaired. I have no complaints about the medical staff, but the admin was terrible. There was no follow up on the op, just a case of call them if I had any problems. I was encouraged to get mobile as soon as possible to reduce the chance of DVT. Fortunately, recovery was quick and I have had no problems since then - a few years ago now.

Good morning everyone... A glorious sunny morning 🌞 🌞 🌞 I supposed to have my ultrascan this morning, but I'm just not feeling well enough to face it, so I cancelled and they made me another appt for next week

I do have to go and get some groceries... just some fruit because I've run out completely but otherwise no plans for today

Hope you all have a better day

It's a great looking day here too, but it's still been cold overnight. I'm hoping that BT will fix my landline which has been faulty for a week. I thought it was being fixed yesterday when I saw one of their guys working on a telegraph pole in my neighbours garden. It turned out that he was a 'pole inspector' and it was his job to check on the condition of the poles. Ironically, he was Polish - so, a Polish pole inspector. Nice guy.

I asked about getting fibre broadband here, but he was very sceptical, saying that they had cut back on installation staff. He agreed that once the major towns and cities had fibre broadband, villages had a vary low priority although geographically, that meant most of Scotland.

Good morning friends@@@ up since 3am for some reason...ah
well....got housekeeper coming today, plus she will drive me
to bank for some cash....I ,keep some on hand for tips etc...
Texted the lawn guy to do my lawn again, but it looks so good
I hate to have it cut!! Be good to each other and yourself!!!:coffee:

Good morning to all. It is a bit foggy today. No rain in forecast and the little it did rain didn't help the lawn from being so dry. The only thing that grows are the weeds. I am not looking forward to hurricane season to have lots of rain and wind. :(

I hope all goes well with you, hollydolly and if not feeling too well, it is best to cancel your appointment. My husband had his C-Scan last Tuesday and have not heard the results, yet. Fingers crossed for him and hope it was not serious.

Hope everyone keeps well and best wishes to everyone.

This morning at 7:15, I walked my neighbor, Cathie's dog' Rudy' around the building. It was 40 no wind, the sun was out. I do enjoy walking him,he's a sweet/ lovable dog. The next time I'll be doing this is Memorial Day weekend
My friend, Mary is picking me up at 9:30 we going on our weekly 'road trip' to local grocery store, Wegmans, need couple of items. She'll be getting her usual reading material, NYT,last Sun's Buffalo News, couple magazines
The rest of my day take advantage of this beautiful but cool day, take 1or 2 walks. I'll be having dinner again tonight at 5:30 with friend, Connie ,2 other residents

What an absolutely glorious sunny day it is. with just enough of a breeze to keep it from being too hot... 🌞 🌞 🌞 🌞

I went out and picked up a prescription , and bought the fruit.... ..

How much do you pay for fruit... for example I bought these today...

6 small apples cost 0.69p in Tesco... a Punnet of seedless cotton candy grapes ( 1/2 kilo= about a pound) £2.70...
a Whole Watermelon £4.00....
6 Bananas =75p.... and a a bag of satsumas ( 10) ...£2.00

How does that compare with prices outside of the UK /

I'm feeling better today, but still dealing with some eye pain. Naps seem to be helping the most. I did do a little in The Fairy Garden yesterday, but Ma Nature put me to bed with a rain shower....she knows best!

I'm hoping to go to the skating rink tomorrow, even though I expect to just take it easy while there.

Well just took a shower without falling down!! But, boy, does
it wear me out...came out and after drying had to get on
the nebulyzer machine for several minutes as I was out of
breath it seemed like....ah the golden years!!!!! WONDER how
long I can keep this up@?@?
Hawkie... you're doing great... you're stilll looking after yourself despite the brethlessness and the occasional fall..

My ex husband is 20 years younger than you and he has COPD so bad, that he can barely walk a few feet without having to get on the nebulizer. He can't go to the toilet, without standing for a good 5 minutes trying to catch his breath, ... he can no longer leave his home.. but yet no-one will help him..it's very sad..

The more I hear about NHS the scarier it sounds to get sick or have an accident in the UK. How do people with children deal with this?
