How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

After sloughing over multiple dirt/mud roads (heavy rains made for washed out roads and the need for creative driving to get to patients’ houses) earlier this week, I tackled washing/ vacuuming out my car this AM. It was a full work out

Now I’m having lunch under the tulip poplar tree. It’s a bit warm but a cool beeeze is blowing, thank goodness

Later I need to get some more blood meal from tractor supply and put it around my day lilies… I’ve had them under wire cages but now they are getting ready to bloom and I don’t want the deer browsing the “salad bar” and nipping off the ready-to-open buds. Apparently it’s a deer delicacy 😑

So a woman comes on her own with a pre teen son.... he's wearing the usual garb of that age of boys, inlcuding a headset... for all the world looking like a boy.... she steps in and says, oh this might be too eavy for us perhaps we should have waitied for dad, and I sad if your son takes the drawers out seperately to the car...... ''She not he ''' says the mother, sharply...... .. I thought ok... whatever...

.....but you'd think if the child we'll say he/she was 12... wants to be known by another gender, it might help if they dressed less like the gender they're discarding...
My 13 year old grandson has hair down to his shoulders and is often mistaken for a girl. Many girls and boys dress similarly these days, and not all girls wear makeup - even deep into their teens.

No doubt you're not the first one to think she was a boy, HD.

It would seem about everything prepared for us, packaged and purchased at a Store, well its just plain bad for us.
Medicines / Herbs in plastic capsules etc. I like Golden Seal but break the cap and put the herb in coffee to seep.
I seem to hardly ever get a cold if I do Golden Seal couple times a week.

Its 85F. here now and heading for near 90F by 4pm. CDT. Heading out soon to get the deluxe Turbos wash to remove some
of the millions of bugs hit last weekend. Mississippi River valley was thriving.

Today is my angel's birthday. I took my motorcycle out and made a 187.9 mile round trip to visit 3 off my fur babies gravesites. Glad to find they are all still around although someone took the statues and fence from the sinkhole property. (house is still there, but condemned). I can't visit daughters ashes as they are scattered in the Gulf, but I think she's smiling knowing she's looking after my fur babies.

@squatting dog

I'm sorry the statues were taken, as they had so much meaning to you.

Peace to you on this meaningful day 🤗

More house cleaning and rearranging this morning. Emptied several kitchen drawers and cupboards, washing the insides and contents. Lots of containers without lids then found mating lids for. Small same category things into Ziplocks. After putting everything back was surprised how much more space there is in each. Even found a few items I'd bought and totally forgot about that speaks to the 2 identical mashed potato tools haha.

My old 1971 condo is 2 stories with about 450 square feet on both floors. Units now given inflation selling for 9 times what they were in 1978. Much of that increase has to do with being in a prime business district one can walk to much where all newer properties for miles are way over $1m in the nation's leading high tech county where wages and real estate pressures are high.

One of the 2 upstairs bedrooms has been my storage room that is my next project but not likely starting that soon. All this once a decade level spring cleaning is more about preparing for then being stuck at home from the surgery, and my laptop HD dying so a need to rebuild all that equipment in a clean organized manner when the new desktop arrives.

Overall today has been a fairly eclectic day, without me even going anywhere.

I was quite poorly this morning... but by about 2pm I was better... I took delivery of something that was damaged and spent ages talking to Amazon customer service who refunded my money and told me to keep the item and dispose of it as I would like

In the meantime, I had someone come and collect a piece of furniture that I sold to them on Ebay... ..

After they'd been I was able then to put my new furniture piece which I bought weeks ago in place where the old had been, that was quite an effort because it was very heavy,..

Then I took the damaged new item from amazon outside and tried to make it look better..( the item was a smoked glass table and was scratched up) ... and I seem to have improved it's appearance somewhat ..

The I restrung the newly washed curtains onto their poles to hang back up...

Then I had a shower, and made dinner... but not before I probably gave it too much personal information on the forum regarding the Menendez brothers situation.. in company with other survivors of abuse...

Now it's 10pm... I'm starting to feel a little weary so I might go and watch some TV

The day went away fast at 3 pm. Tornado warning and
70 mph straight-line winds with small hail. Stopped in
a parking lot behind a tall fence, tail of Turbos into the wind
and large tree above to slow the hail down. Truck buffeted'
Windshield cracked, some small dents on hood. I can pop
them out with my trusty hail dent puller kit. Think I will
trade the truck to keep insurance costs down.

Thanks Pinky. I have some plans for stuff we can do. Take her to places she remembers with fondness. Like Friar's CRag at Keswick where she spent her honeymoon with Dad.
Oy..I know you have much to think about now in the coming weeks , but if they've given your lovely mum such a small window of time left.. do you think she's going to be capable of going all the places you'd want to take her... to make memories ?

Going to DS's place for lunch yesterday reminded me of how much I miss being able to go anywhere alone. Anywhere at all. Even going there, it's door-to-door via Uber and return. I wish I could just go somewhere by myself, poke around, do whatever I want.

Maybe that's one of the reasons I want a job?

Poor pitiful me :(.

it really IS pitiful because you're healthy, most people your age are not, yet you're essentially locked up as tho' you were in a nursing home, depending on someone else to take you to the garden centre and back or the store and back... that is very sad...

@Georgiagranny, did you quit driving because you felt you could no longer d.o so safely, or were there other reasons?
I decided long ago that when I turned 80, I'd get rid of my car. Had I known that I'd remain in command of my faculties, I'd have kept it. I just didn't want to be one of those old ladies who went to the store for a loaf of bread and got found weeks later in a cornfield in flyover country ;).

From time to time, I've thought of calling an Uber to take me somewhere...but where now that the malls are all ghost towns? And then there's DD who'd pitch a hissy fit if I were to go off somewhere alone.

Now if I had a job...at least I'd have somewhere to go and something to do and wouldn't mind so much having to ask whenever I want to go to the garden center or to Walmart or wherever.

Ask to go back to being the biscuit bitch where I used to work years ago? That's the job that starts at 4am so the only way to do that would be via Uber, another thing that DD would put the brakes on in a heartbeat. Not to mention, of course, the cost. It would cost half a shift's pay, but truth to tell I wouldn't even mind that because at least I'd get to go out and be among the lights and the people.

I made sure to be up to see my son off. He left at midnight. Wasn’t happy that he was walking to the bus stop on his trek to get to LaGuardia airport (bus then Uber from NYC bus terminal). Dusted and Swiffered after he left.

Had to choose a one minute clip from one of my songs to use during the break for tomorrow’s broadcast. Also had to read through the format of what Honorary Son #3 (HS#3), the host, and I will be discussing. The show is a half hour and since other features besides the main topic are included, time passes so quickly that it seems like 10 minutes!

This evening HS#3 persuaded me to go to Amazon Fresh again. It’s dangerous because they have Haagen Daz for almost $3 cheaper than the supermarket, but I resisted tonight. We had a chance to discuss more about what we’ll cover on the show as well as other topics. He's such an interesting, brilliant, driven young man.

After we left Amazon HS#3 decided that it was such a lovely evening he’d drive through the mountain. I was surprised at how many people were walking the trails. Didn’t have to cook when I got home because I got a container of salad from Amazon. It was a lovely day.
