I chose the Slade version because it always reminds me of my late husband. I met him when he came up here with the Royal Navy (Submariner) and he took me to a listening booth in a record shop and this is the song he wanted me to hear. We only had about a week together before he set off again and thereafter it was mostly a long distance romance with a few weekend visits. But somehow it worked, we married a few short months later and had 28 years together before he died.
