What time does it get dark where you are today ?

Texas is on daylight savings time, so our sunset will be at 8:24 PM. If we were not on daylight savings time, it would be one hour earlier. I'm surprised to read posts about sunsets occurring anywhere at 9:20 PM.

yes we're on daylight saving time as well... and sunset is definitely at 9.22pm precisely..altho' it doesn't actually get dark until 10pm

The sun sets at 9.20pm here which is 5 minutes from now... and it's still very light currently.. even tho' the sun sets at 9.20pm it doesn't actually get properly dark until 10pm...

What time does it get dark where you are ..at this time of year ?

9:02 pm tonight dark is about 10:15 or so.

Sun sets at 9:37, dark around 10.
ah..so I think my supposition is right then ..being further in the Northern hemisphere gives us longer daylight hours ..at least in summer... you're sunset is just a little later than ours... and we're both in the Far Northern Hemisphere

I've just asked AI what time sunset will be on Christmas day here... and it said 3.54pm and sunrise will be 8.07 am ........and just as an example I asked what time sunset will be in Alabama US.. and it said 4.46pm ..sunrise will be at 6.49am .... giving 2 hours more daylight than the UK in winter.....

Australia of course is exactly the opposite to all of us..their winter being our summer and Vice versa....

Sunset at my location today was 9:06 pm. I'm at 40.5* north latitude.
London, UK is 51* north latitude.....so yes, being further north the summer days are longer there.
I once visited Iceland in the summertime and 9:00 pm there looked and felt to me like 4:00 pm where I live.
