How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Well it's 7.30pm it's been a glorious sunny last 3 hours compared to the greyish start to the day...

I bagged up 2 bags full of things to donate to the charity...

I've done the laundry and and I'm just about to go and put it all in the dryer...

For dinner I had a portion of the meal I cooked yesterday.. Swedish meatballs.. beef & red wine gray with red onions and a medley of mushrooms..with broccoli.. and there is Still, another portion left, so I'll freeze that.. so that was a very cheap 3 meals...

l may have to start using pen and paper and postage stamps. Microsoft has informed me that
l'll have to buy a new pc because my current one won't accept Windows 11. ls this even legal?
Can l make them buy me a new pc? Check your mailboxes often.
Ditch windows, load up a Linux distro - I use Ubuntu, but others have their favourites. It's free, fast and doesn't hassle you with updates. No need for antivirus, though it is available. Most applications are available and Free. I think that most people who switch to Linux, never go back to Windows. Give this some serious thought - most machines, even my ancient Dell Latitude will run Linux.
BTW, you don't need to remove Windows, Linux will run alongside it.

I don't know about the legality of Microsoft notices. They may make suggestions, but cannot compel you to stop using your current operating system. I have one laptop still running on Windows 7, which hasn't been updated in years.

Windows operating system versions used to be supported for 10 years. Microsoft changed their policy with the release of Windows 10 by placing an end of support date of 2 years of less. If you're on Windows 10, you will no longer receive security updates or other fixes after October, 2025, but the operating system will continue to function, only without standard security protection. If that's a concern, you can still protect your system by installing third party software like AVG, Avast, Malwarebytes, etc.

Yes it's very legal...... I was fed up with Microsoft, so I changed to a Mac about 7 or 8 years ago ... there's hardly ever any problems.... it's like night and day

Thank you @Irishdude but I only have two hours left to do everything which includes testing my blood, taking over 10 medications and eat and meet AccessARide. It's too much, I need about four hours for that, not two. I've run out of time and I feel exhausted in body and soul. It's too much, everything is just too much; I'm too tired to fight; I'm too lonely to fight; I want to give up.

You are right on this, but I just can't anymore. I'm a loser. I've lost.
Hey Pepper, bad enough you feel too lousy to go, but piling it on for that is just unnecessary self-punishment. I do NOT agree with the people here posting you should just suck it up and go; I think you'd be better off by graciously accepting whatever you feel, and going with that. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the way I am. Whatever you ultimately do, it does NOT make you a "loser"!

Good Morning folks!!! Hopefully you are starting the day
better than myself...dang it....woke at 3am with terrible achy
pain in BOTH hips, why, why, why not, hell these bones are
85 yrs old...most of those years spent as a laborer in various
jobs that didn't use white collars....took a pain pill and setting
with heat on both hips...dang.....No plans at all for today, as I
doubt I could finish any project......gonna be a looooooonnggg
day !!!!! Take care all.......;):coffee:😭👿

@Pepper 🤗

Family dinner yesterday after having DGS for a few days early in the week. It's been a lot of hustle and bustle around here.
My FU mammogram and ultrasound came up clear. I felt that it would be but it's good to be certain. Everything is in two or more appts now. 🤔 I am grateful no matter what to have healthcare. I hope AI may change it all for the better.

Verdict for the Karen Read trial today? I hope so. Yes, I have been down that rabbit hole for the last month. Fascinating!
Reminds me of the Murdaugh case in all it's twists and turns. One pure southerner and one pure yankee. Except, in this case, I think the defendant is innocent! We'll see.

Happy Monday!

It rained again last night. I think I'm to the point where I would be surprised if it didn't rain! (sigh). Anyway, it's not raining now...just heavily overcast. Hopefully, it's over for a while, and we won't have to drive in any rain today.

I guess it's coffee, breakfast, and then off to the car dealer. There will be a lot of things that we'll need to get done before we get home (plates, taxes, etc) today. It's going to be a loooong day!
I hope everyone has a good day, with lots of sunbeams! 1750074704912.jpeg

Aching and creaking from the gardening over the past few weeks. That work is just about done so we're squaring up the house before we head off on holiday to Mainz, Germany. Really looking forward to the break although it's forecast to be pretty hot there. Cases are partly packed and we'll probably take too much, but that won't stop Mrs. L having a good look round C and A. We've rented an apartment in a good central location and we know the area quite well.

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:50,temp was 62 as I walked twice around the building, saw 2 runners ,,1 person walking their dog, birds were chirping
This morning I'm dog sitting my 'buddy boy', Tage for couple of hrs. Marcia is picking me up at 10:30,she is a docent/giving a tour at Darwin Martin House. I'll be bringing my lunch,I know Tage will be happy about that
When I come home, try to get another walk in before it rains, read NYT
My friend, Connie invited me to dinner at 5:30 in dining room, along with 2 other residents
A perfect way to end my day

Have doctor appt. this morning. The cardiologist who searches for blood clots in my legs. Will be picked up at eleven. Am afraid to leave home, I'm scared. Something so wrong with me. Took .25mg Risperidone to help me. It didn't.

I guess I need positive experience with this, perhaps it will give me the boost I need.

I'm not long back home..iit's been soooo hot and humid..... 🥵 I don't have AC in my car so I had the fan on full, the windows open, still so hot. I've had the AC regassed a few times but it never works...

Firstly I went to one town to drop off 2 big bags of items, because my ultimate destination which was in the next county doesn't have any charity shops near it... so I did the detour and dropped them off at St Elizabeths hospice ...then I had to drive another 5miles to get a garage that had air pumps so I could pump my tyres.. in the end they really didn't need much put in them..

from there it was 20 mile drive all through country roads to get to my next destination.. very hot.... I had to go to several places when I got there, and it was only when I was at the last place I saw my petrol cap door which has a lock, was slightly open. when I checked, my petrol cap was missing.. I realised then that I must have left it at Costco a week ago when I filled the tank .

Costco is 40 miles from where I was...so instead, I came home and called them, and they were great they said they'd found it and had it in the petrol garage office... ... as it's another 25 mile round trip from my house.. and the schools are out now and the rush hour traffic is building up.....I'll wait until tomorrow to drive over and get it...

Great news tho'...kind of them to keep it...(y)

OBTW.... In Lidl's today... I saw this ice cream... I couldn't resist taking a picture because there's something fishy....:sneaky::D it say's it American..... I wondered if you guys knew of it...

....also I only noticed when I uploaded this picture, looks like they're not so great at following instruction in Lidl... look to the right, and the cheesecakes clearly say ''Keep flat''... :D

I've been away so am behind on this thread. Skimmed a bit, but it seems you did fine without me.

DH & I spent a relaxing week camping (RVing) up the coast a bit last week. Unfortunately, en route home our truck quit on us. On the freeway. Aack! Was able to get to the shoulder, but had to order two tow trucks. One for the truck, another for the 5th wheel. Towed the truck to a repair shop and the camper to our daughter's house. Fortunately, we were only about 15 miles from her.

Even with AAA it was a $400 expense by the time we figured in tips for both (excellent, helpful) tow drivers. Found out this morning that the problem was a fuel line sensor. Could have been worse - and pricier - but still meant another $400 to fix that.

Yesterday, our 3 year old grandson spent the day with us. He loves going in the garage with me. Yesterday, I was doing laundry and seated him on top of the dryer so he can help put the clothes in the (top-loading) washer, then add the soap, then push the buttons. This time, he noticed the hoses coming out of the wall and into the backs of the washer. Thought it was so cool that the machine's water filled up through those hoses.

It's lovely to see anew the world and all we take for granted.

Hope all have a great day!
