STILL NEED TO FIND MY SOCSEC CARD, AND MEDICARE CARD...DUNNO HOW I MANAGED TO LOSE TRACK OF THEM...
GOING TO BE ANOTHER HOTTIE TODAY, HAD TWO T'STORMS
LAST EVENING. VERY HUMID OF COURSE....TAKE CARE ALL...:coffee:

Getting out of bed took longer than usual today. I did the entire LA Times crossword while sitting on the side of the bed. It does distract while the pain subsides. My body is still fighting me after last Friday's CPR. I inched my way to the computer and found the Youtube breathing exercises sent by an exercise coordinator from my local hospital. It looks like help may be available. I begin physical therapy on Monday.
Not sure you needed to hear this but it helped to say it.
It is now time to eat after waiting an hour after taking pantoprazole. I have not been hungry but oatmeal and banana should work.

Look in a book; a book is where I misplaced some money. :D

Good morning to everyone, today is sunny and will be hot but not as hot as usual with heat index in three figures. Rain again for this afternoon.

@Babs2u, I hope you will feel better today and that your physical therapy will help, too. Try to stay well and my best wishes to you.

@hawkdon, sometimes lost items show up in the least looked places. Maybe try your kitchen or bedroom drawers where you might have put them.

Have a nice day today and all my best to all of you. :)

Good morning, kids. It's sunny right now and cool. Our high temp today is only supposed to be in the upper 80s, and the Daily Deluge isn't supposed to start until around 4.

I've been out in the garden moving some flowers so that I can get a better view from my patio chair.

Surprise surprise. In GA the governor gives back up to $250 to single tax filers and $500 to joint filers. For whatever reason, I've never gotten any back before, but this morning there was a deposit from the state for $229. What? I'm not proud; I'll take charity. It'll keep the wolf from the door until payday on the 16th.

No plans for the day except to sit around on my dead center and veg.

Well very sunny , and hot,. 🌞🌞

dire warning about the level of heat we're going to experience over the next week.. temps to be up to 95 deg..... currently in Spain and Italy temps are up to 116 deg.. roads are melting......however at least they have AC unlike the majority of us in the UK

Wildfires tore through parts of Greece due to the heat...

Temperatures are also soaring over 40 degrees in Italy, the Balkans and Turkey.

A motorway in Northern Italy was closed yesterday as burning temperatures caused roads to melt, local media reports.

Italy's health ministry warned residents and tourists on Friday of soaring temperatures across the country, and issued a red alert for 21 cities this weekend - including Rome, Milan and Venice.

Conversely , France & Germany have been hammered with ferocious storms which have left several people dead ...looks like you got out just in time @Capt Lightning this was Paris last night....

Came home yesterday after 4 days of RV camping about an hour away. DD and her friends were tent camping in the same campground so we enjoyed some time with them.

It was about 10° cooler there, but now I'm back to the heat. 88° for a high today, though it's only 60° at the moment. I woke up at 3:30 AM and couldn't go back to sleep. Gave up around 4:15 and figured I'll compensate later on with a nap or two. So frustrating to not be able to sleep, isn't it?

To not totally squander my early awakening, I started a load of laundry and did some other things that aren't affected by a fuzzy brain. Spreadsheets can be updated after nap or tomorrow...

In the meantime we've been bombarded about how our phones are going set off a siren alarm to warn us of impending war... Good God.... !!

The UK will test its emergency alarm system for the first time in two years, as the government warns Britain to prepare for war.

All UK devices will blast out an alarm tone later this year in a new test of the 'Emergency Alert System'.

First launched in 2023, this system is designed to warn the public if there is a danger to life nearby.
This latest test comes as the government's security strategy warns that the UK homeland could come under 'direct threat' in a 'wartime scenario'.

The renewed testing of the emergency system also comes at a time when escalating conflict in the Middle East has sparked concerns of a wider war between nuclear powers.

When it was first tested, the emergency system sent a message to phones which read: 'Severe Alert. This is a test of Emergency Alerts, a new UK government service that will warn you if there’s a life-threatening emergency nearby.

'In a real emergency, follow the instructions in the alert to keep yourself and others safe.
Once the alert is sent, all phones in the affected area will make a loud siren-like sound, vibrate, and read out the warning.

The sound and vibration will trigger even if your phone is set to silent.

The government does not need to know your phone number in order to send the message, and all phones will automatically trigger the alert.

Listen up, y'all. For instant cooling (this won't work in bed at night, @hollydolly!), peel a cucumber and rub the inside of the peel on your neck, forearms, wrists, behind your knees. Cuke doesn't have to be cold for it to work. You can also simply run your wrists under a cold water tap.

If you sleep on your back, a wet washcloth on your forehead helps.

You can hang a wet towel in front of a fan. It won't help with humidity, but it will help with cooling.

@hollydolly you take the prize for the worst possible news - not just for today but the entire month.

We are still under the miserable heat dome but I think it might be out in the Atlantic by next week. Dewpoint is still in the high 70’s🤢

My claim to work fame this morning is that I cloroxed the horses water tubs and finally lifted their #50 salt block out of the car’s trunk and put it out for them. They weren’t without salt, they have three water stations and generally a salt block at each station. One of the three stations was missing its salt block, so I finally felt froggy enough to get the new one out of the car.

I need to run the vacuum but———-

Glad to reach Friday again after 4 quiet, productive days this week at home. My just purchased used Trailblazer LS, is now fully insured and set up for use, including my reading key sections of its intimidating 358 page, user guide while playing with all the knobs and adjustments. Have disabled all its OnStar system, GPS, and SeriusXM options. Today will drive 30 miles north and be dancing to a late afternoon free outdoor street concert with a top national touring Foreigner tribute band. Then tomorrow mid afternoon, a 58 mile drive to a San Francisco outdoor street concert with a Jimi Hendrix tribute band.

Sounds like you'll have a fun weekend David!

Think how many flowers you can get for that! Fall garden? 😊
