All that was stored in totes on closet floor are now on the floor near me.

Before hubby came in I tossed some ' damaged 'stuff.
Found some really nice men's shoes that he has never wore.

Got a pile of my used sneakers to sort out some, will go to thrash.

Mac wants out to try getting a woodchuck.

I wonder if he can't see very well.

I was watching one 'sun itself' not far from us.
Not sure he saw when it moved.
He did check the den entrance & did "back off ' when I told him to.

I napped a lot today. But in between naps, interesting things occurred. My online bestie aka "Li'l Sis", who produced my music videos, helped me make sense of Ancestry. I had started my tree but hit a brick wall a few years ago. I renewed my membership a couple of months ago and am just getting time to delve into it again. She's an expert geneaologist and knows the ins and outs of maneuvering Ancestry to bring up all sorts of information.

She found a new relative, a first cousin once removed, who must've just joined. He must be a descendant of my maternal grandfather who I never knew and only have a nickname and surname for. If anyone can dig up more info about him, Li'l Sis can. Tonight my HS#3 picked me up and we rode up to the mountain to see the fireworks, but cops were turning people around, saying no fireworks. Funny thing is, I was wishing I could do that tonight but never mentioned it to him or my son. So we rode to another park, where the lots were full so he parked across the street. Turned out to be the perfect spot for more reasons than one!

As we were leaning against his car with a perfect view of the fireworks, a van pulled up and double parked right where we were. It was there for several minutes when he noticed the driver was someone he had connected with about a month ago over a music discussion. The young man "P", who is a music producer, was supposed to give him a call but never did. Tonight was the third time they had a chance meeting within a month and even "P" said this couldn't be just a coincidence. They had a nice talk about getting together and working on some music projects. As usual HS#3 always includes me in the mix. "P" has a million YouTube followers, something HS#3 certainly aspires to have. Perhaps with this collaboration.

Well today's not started off good for me.

I've just got £100 parking fine for parking at the hospital, and not paying to park... however patients don't pay to park, instead we put our regstration number into a machine on the reception desk when we arrive, which I did...

I've tried calling the parking company but no-one is answering...

Good morning, such a relief not to hear fireworks last night for the celebration of the 4th of July. All the noisy neighbors have moved.

Today is a new day and I am going to enjoy the weather with no rain, I hope. Lots of rain yesterday.

I hope all of you are well and enjoy your day. :)

I should be down at the project house. Would like to spend a complete day there…but my son wants to go too. My son has an internal clock worse than any dog…and i am lucky to compleat a few hours work whin he comes. Plus I would love to visit the back lot neighbors….and my son chomps at the bit to leave. Ahhhh….the joys. Meanwhile…another hot day…

DD and I went to Aldi early to see if there was any of their 30-50% mark-down meat left. There was, but none that we needed/wanted. The expiry dates on all of them isn't even until Monday, the 7th.

When we came out, there were three backpacks that were unattended near the shopping carts. What? By the time we got to the car, there was a lady sitting with them, obviously homeless. Neither of us had any cash, but DD was going to McD's to get something to eat so she asked the lady if she wanted something, too. Her face lit up, and when DD asked her what she'd like, she said "Anything. Just food." So DD got her a breakfast meal and a bottle of water. When we got back, she thanked DD profusely and dug into that sack. Wonder when her last meal was? It hurts my heart to see homeless people, especially older women :(.

BTW, the Jergens cherry almond lotion is working so far. No mosquitoes. Yet.

Good morning, all!

I had a delightful afternoon/evening at a 4th of July party. Great people, traditional 4th BBQ foods, and breathtaking fireworks from a very nearby park. Added bonus? We didn't even have to go to the park. Just lined up chairs on their quiet street and watched the spectacular 30 minute show 25 feet from our friends' front door.

Rode up a drainage that's behind locked gates all but 2 months of the year and I brought back pics. Did see a fairly large black bear, but no deer or elk or even grouse.

This area burned both in 2007 and 2013 so I'm not quite sure which fire killed these Douglas-fir trees in the foreground.

Fenced off area to protect a spring from cattle and sheep. Dead sub alpine fir in the background.

The tourists are back in full force, road construction and building everywhere, and next week it's Allen & Co (and their obnoxious security.) In other words a complete circus around town, the order of the day is get moving early and get home asap.

56 days till archery elk season and the of worst of the tourism will be complete until Christmas.
