Well it finally happened, this morning I went over to winco to do some shopping. I checked out and I went to my vehicle and put away the items and then pushed the cart into the corral. However I seem to have forgotten to take my wallet out of the top basket. So blithy I went over to the park got everything situated and decided to lay down and sleep a few more hours.

So long story short I found out I was missing a wallet at 8:45 a.m. . I waited till 9:00 then I called WinCo and they confirmed that they had received the wallet (thank you stranger I appreciate it!) and so I went over there and collected it. All the time of course cursing myself for being so forgetful. I think now I'm going to get a chain and clip on my wallet so I know that it's with me at all times.

I guess this old dog still has some tricks to learn.

My sister in law and father in law were shopping and found a wallet yesterday in the grocery parking lot. After they finished shopping they went to the wallet owners house. They viewed the driver’s license to get the address. The wallet contained money and a credit cards. When they got to the house, the wife said her husband had gone to the bank to cancel all his credit cards. The woman was so happy.

I haven't taken my wallet out and laid it in the top basket, but my problem is with the cell phone. It's too big to go in the front pocket, so I put it in the back pocket when I get out of the car to go into the store, but part of it sticks up outside the pocket - about an inch or so.

If I stop to look at things while shopping, someone might be able to slip it out of my back pocket without me knowing. Then, I have to make a mental note to take it out of my pocket before sitting down in the car to go home.

The only other choices are to carry it about in my hand, and I will not do that, or leave it in the car, and as hot as it is right now, the heat could damage it.

Don't feel bad. This happened to me about 6 times about 10 years ago. Fortunately, either I remembered I'd left it in the basket and drove back to find it or a couple of times some honest and nice person turned it in. It happens! Glad you got it back.

Mack, my husband will put the phone in the cargo shorts if they have a velcro closer.

Other times he wears this on his belt.
Adding, that’s the price in Canadian dollars. It would cost less in the US. He also carries a few emergency meds in it.

Those are good ideas, thanks - I had a leather holder similar to your picture that went through the belt for my previous phone, but it's too small for this one. I need to stop in at a cell phone specialty store and see if they have one that works; would solve the problem.

I left my purse at WalMart about 5 years ago. Didn't realize it until I got home, but I went right back, heart pounding all the way, and, thankfully, it was at the customer service counter. Miraculously, nothing had been taken. Money can be replaced, but it would have been a hassle to have to replace driver's license and other "cards" like for health insurance. Since then, I have removed those items from my purse and leave them in the glove box.

Mack, this was the only one DH could find that was large enough.

I have used a fanny pack since I retired in 2012. There is nothing I need to carry these days that won’t fit in a fanny pack. I have a biker’s key fob that snaps my keys to the fanny pack, so they don’t take up any space.

that said, when I parked at the grocery store and went for a buggy, someone had left a sack of groceries in a buggy. Probably $12 worth of groceries and it was already bucking hot out.

After checking with two ladies nearby, I took the bag into the store and turned it in. I did not check too close, but I do know there were two jars of spaghetti sauce, some macaroni, and a few other things so it looked like that was somebodyā€˜s supper they weren’t going to get tonight🤯

You could get a fanny pack that straps to your waist. I wear leggings that have a side pocket made just for phones. When I don’t wear my leggings, which isn’t often , I wear a small fanny pack , making it impossible for anyone to steal it.

In Ohio, concerning Lost property like that, the finder has all rights to it except the true owner. Now if the true owner can be identified, and the person keeps it, that is theft. If the true owner can not be identified, then another process takes place. They did a good deed.

Now, say they found it in a cart outside on the store property, then it would be considered "Mislaid" property, and the store has rights to it to ascertain the owner. I found a purse in a cart once, so it turned it over to the service desk, did not even look inside.

there are phone holders you can loop into your belt. My husband has done this for years.

They said they considered returning it to the store but didn’t. It was one of those huge parking lots meant to serve a variety of stores. They clearly did the right thing, since the rightful owner got the wallet.IMG_9878.jpeg

There are I phone belt holders that attach to your waist belt . The holder has a retention device, that you need to manipulate to remove the phone and use it. Mine is mounted in the horizontal position, so movement is not restricted. Mine cost me about $40 at Best Buy. JIMB.

keep your hands free , and your phone safe at all times while out and about

I told this story on here at the time it happened. About 2 or maybe 3 years ago..I left my handbag on the trolley in Aldi car park trolley bay...

It had everything in it.. money, phone, cards..the whole 9...

It wasn't until I pulled up outside the house and reached for my bag before getting out, I realised what I'd done.

I spun the car around and drove at breakneck speed back to Aldi, just as it was getting to be sunset, and rush hour traffic....

I sped into the car park, and the trolley corall.. of course my bag was not there...

heart in my shoes, I raced into a very busy Store, and asked the first assistant I saw.. and I nearly fainted with relief when she said, someone had handed it into the office.. and not only that the man was still in the store, and she pointed him out as he stood in the checkout line.

I couldn't have been more grateful to that man !
