Learning How To Live Life

As soon as this present container of coffee is gone I'm switching to tea. I will of course still get the caffeinated tea. I have a box of black tea bags and a box of chamomile in the cupboard for when the coffee is gone.

I don't need as much sugar and cream with tea and I can drink it plain if I want. I can't do plain coffee. I've tried. It's disgusting. Tea bags are cheaper for me anyway.

A while back I switched to unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I love that stuff. Friday at work I had some 2% milk and I'm so used to almond milk that regular milk tastes disgusting. I like the almond milk because it keeps forever in comparison. Like I can have a jug or carton of that stuff for a month or more and it doesn't go bad.

When I was drinking regular milk it was always going out of date in the store either that day or in a couple days and I had to end up getting rid of it cuz I couldn't get it drank that fast. Even the smaller containers.

I do like some fruity teas as well. Also lavender tea isn't bad.

Air quality is at 44 so far but there's still fires in other states so hard telling what that will bring. One the AirNow map we're still in the yellow.

I had to call the EMS place and have them put the remaining part of my ambulance bill through my other emergency transport insurance. So I shouldn't owe any on that.

Had to call the pulmo's office today to let them know I'm ready to try the next dose of Roflumilast and see how it goes. Hopefully I can manage it cuz it's helping a lot.

Temps will warm back up now again. Ugh! We've had very little rain this summer so far.

Not looking forward to seeing what the unit looks like since I was off for the weekend. The guy that covers it on my weekends off doesn't do the best job.

What a day. My behind feels like it's draggin the floor. LOL! I'm gonna look into a 2009 Honda Accord and see what it costs me and see what the insurance would run on it. I have to see if I can afford the expense. If not that 401k will go to pay bills and the rest to ride with Uber I guess. HAHA!

I have been doing some thinking and I'm trying to come up with ways to save some money for myself. I'm gonna get some different phone plans that are cheaper and a 2nd phone in case one breaks down. I'm gonna see about a Mint Mobile plan and a Visible plan. I'll have to purchase a second phone. Just a cheap one will be ok for the Mint Mobile plan.

If Cox raises it's internet rates I will likely cancel them because I'm not paying all outdoors just for internet. So, we'll see.

Goodnight.

My coworkers brother passed away so I won't see him til this weekend. Poor guy. He lost his sister to copd.

It's going to be a busy week I think. Yesterday we had 5 people out. Two on vacation and two sick and one funeral leave. Made for a busy day. Surveyors are due anytime between Monday and Feb. That's what they told us. Oy! Usually they show up shortly behind the fire inspector.

I did not sleep worth a darn last night. Kinda sucks. I think it's cuz I slept 11 and 10 hrs over the weekend. Plus I went to bed early Monday and slept another near 10. I even had a second melatonin and a glass of milk. Nothing. Finally closed my eyes somewhere in the 4 hr mark before the alarm went off.

A girl at work has been giving me rides home so payday we're gonna hit Poncho's on the way home from work. If they have it I'm gonna get a chicken taco salad I think. Hopefully she'll be ok with taking it home cuz I wanna put dressing on it at home and eat it that way. Plus it's kinda expensive so I don't wanna pay for a drink or anything. I have stuff at home.

I'm hoping we don't have to spend the rest of the week teaming out two areas. I'll be wiped out by Friday.

Well an hour later I have an eye appt. the 25th. I will take the prescription to Walmart and get some glasses made. There's a pair of $9 frames I could live with if I had to. I'm such a cheapskate. LOL!

I will be getting $14,000 after taxes from my 401k so maybe I can get a decent car for $10,000 & have some left over for insurance and paying my medical bills off. We'll see.

Started watching Bob Abishola. One episode in and it's kinda funny. We'll see.

I'm making Knorr Creamy Garlic pasta for supper. I have a couple hamburger patties thawing for tomorrow night. They had a package of chicken cordan bleu with 2 pieces of chicken in it. I got that but didn't wanna fire the oven up til it cools off some more.

The tap water keeps turning orange every so often so I've gone back to bottled water. I don't like the idea of drinking rust water. I've been drinking distilled and I'm ok with that. If it gets too costly I may hafta invest in a Brita water pitcher.

I don't have a lot of time this morning. I have to be ready for an Uber ride by 1:00 so that I can get a blood draw done before work.

I made a payment for all my dr. bills from around the time of my hospital stay. Sheesh!

I hope I can find a decent vehicle and have enough left to pay something off so I'm not as bogged down. I'm so sick of riding with other people. I miss hopping in my car and going. Not that I'm not thankful to coworkers for playing taxi. And I'm glad Uber is available for those in need of it. Our taxi services in this town are horrible.

Cya later!

good morning!
last day of the weekend. i'm off monday and have a few items coming from walmart. i'm gonna try some of that lume deoderant. it's ridiculously expensive but, i'm gonna see if it works. the regular deoderants off the shelves at the store just aren't cutting it. i hate to say it but i wonder sometimes if these companies don't purposely design stuff to be crappy to get us to buy more.

so i have stardew valley on my phone. i think the game originally cost like $12. well worth the expense and the dev did an update last year. there's no ads and no other purchases to be made. i love it. so i was looking for another game that was small and didn't have ads or purchases and found one called pocket city. it's a city builder game and it was $2.99. i love it and i'm totally addicted. lol!

so the rest of the games i had that had ads and wanted to be pay to play are gone. i'm happy with that. i usually have a hot beverage when i wake up but i think i'm dehyrated so i'm gonna keep on my water for a few days. i might have some tea tonight after work.

the bosses all have their panties in a twist over the surveyors being on their way as they are every year. this year we are being threatened with being wrote up over every little thing and i think the staff is starting to get mad. then they don't do it just to be defiant. can't blame them. the new boss is being a real b*tch. then i heard she sits and laughs about it. what kind of person does that?

hoping it won't be as hot today. we got a nice thunderstorm last night and must have rained good cuz it was still wet outside when i woke at 11 this morning.

I don't miss going through the accreditation that we had to go through like you're doing. In the beginning during the first couple of those, the Accreditation Staff (what the office was called) tried to keep everything to themselves. Then they found out they had to have us grunts involved in order to do it & pass.

Once we knew the process, we kept copies of our records that we HAD to send to the Accreditation Staff them so we had them ourselves to show the inspectors when they asked us for them. We found out real quick, that the inspectors wanted to talk to the actual workers & not the AS staff or the person the AS "designated". After that, it went much easier & faster.

It also got better because the original AS staff was replaced by people who were themselves grunts once.

@Lilac yup. in order to remain accredited for medicare we have to document everything and go over all the policies and procedures through online tests every single year. if we don't get the tests done by the due date we get pulled from the schedule and forced to finish the tests first. i get mine done asap. the rest dilly dally.

this year we had a shooting in the lobby. some guy killed himself but, the staff never called an active shooter and never left their work posts to hide or escape or anything. then when the kdhe came to investigate and asked a staff member what they were supposed to do they said "i don't know."

that caused a crap storm of rage for the bosses so then they had to make up all these task cards and laminate them for everyone's area and have meetings to re-educate everyone even though that is all covered in our tests every year. good grief! had it been me i'd have gotten the hell outta there.

despite the surveyors coming the staff still does their lazy version of cleaning. i've been having one hell of a time trying to get the er cleaned up and keep it that way because whenever i'm off the people that cover for me don't clean for crap. it's horrible. morale is down because the new boss threatens to write us up all the time and some of them just flat don't care.

it's a shame to have people in the housekeeping positions that don't care about their job because you can visibly see they don't care. it's frustrating for those of us that do care.

this morning i'm waiting for a few things from walmart. i'm trying to spend the day getting caught up on water intake since i'm pretty sure i'm dehydrated. i gotta start taking the time to drink more water at work. especially in the summer. i'm having some chamomile tea at the moment and i have my water bottle with some packaged electrolyte mix in it.

i'll probably chill and watch tv and play my video games today.

I had a two supervisors over the years that you had to watch who thought it was their duty to write someone up to justify their position when it was them that should have been written up for not doing their job. Sad these people seem to be all over no matter where you work. I liked it when I seen people who worked their way up from the bottom up & became supervisors. They were really good to work with & for because they knew what they were doing.

Most of our training was in person at the Training Center. We would have a few videos we had to review through the year. Sometimes if they were short it was done during roll call. If they were longer, during slow time you came into the office or break room & watched them. Some supervisors did this during paperwork time so they knew the "problem children" watched them.

i'm having a burger and salad here after a while for lunch. i bought this powder mix for water called true lemon. it's little packets. sugar free and says like fresh squeezed. i'm gonna try them and if i like them fine. if not there's a young lady at work i'm gonna give them to. lol!

Have you ever tried just putting only lemon juice in water?

When I was in the hospital, I had a nurse who said she did this because they couldn't do anything about her kidney stones that showed up after she was pregnant. She was just in the habit of doing this ever since.

I love lemon so I tried it & liked it. I get tired of plain water sometimes & this is a way to drink more water for me. I'm not a sugar-holic & I find most drinks that aren't made with cane sugar can be too sweet for my taste. I also don't like fake sugars & they don't like me, so they aren't an option.

i did call the landlord. it never lasts for long. sometimes it's because they flush the hydrants. sometimes the old city pipes do that when the weather changes. like that one day it was really hot and then the next it had gone down like 20 degrees or more. they say online that when that happens it loosens the sediment in the line. it's just rust but i don't wanna drink it.

it's cleared up now but i think i'll just stick with my distilled water. lol
