The Seinfeld tv series

Kramer was unique, and found his stride a few episodes in. Watch episode one, and you will understand what I'm talking about. It's like the director put a lid on his assets, and episodes later let him out.

It would be hard to put together a cast with that much chemistry. Times have changed. They often flirted with controversy that may not work for general audiences in today's polarized society. Could they find other topics? I can't imagine it. But then I never imagined Seinfeld before it happened either.

I have always loved the show since it took place in New York City where I lived for 15 years. Also it took place in my favorite borough, Manhattan. Plus all of the eccentric characters in it. New York City had more eccentric people than any other city I have ever lived in or visited.

In those bonus commentary files that always come with disks, there is one that talks about how the final episode came about. It seems that there was a debate about whether they would end the series leaving the four characters as the losers they were, or whether they would have some kind of redemption and a change of life. Seinfeld's partner, Larry David, vetoed the idea of any kind of redemption, and the four end up in a jail cell together having the same pointless discussion that opens the first season's episode at the coffee shop, where they are discussing the way George buttons his shirt.
