How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

After all of yesterday's rowdy music and dancing activities, am a bit ragged this early Sunday morning. Managed 5 or 6 hours sleep. Had bought a big cherry filling filled donut that I mic'd a bit and ate at sunrise for a high sugar breakfast. Now time for a hot shower, dress, grab gear/food/drinks, then will hit the road on a 45 mile drive north. First up is an Eagle's tribute band, then 90s grunge rock, and finally a mix between an Ozzy tribute band and a Dead jam band.

Little 12 week old puppy Lenny started training school today...:love:

Today's recap, Sunday: As I emerge from the dungeon passing by the front door I hear an elk bugling from my driveway. If that doesn't get you pumped at 4:20am nothing will. Get up stairs and make a few calls on the patio and 2 or 3 bulls respond. The rut in ON.

Proceed to the parking spot, it was quiet. I tried to savor the moments on the hike, taking some short breaks to look at the stars, blackened cottonwood trees in the burn, and to listen to the sound of the river trying not to overheat in the 48°F air. Get about 1/2 way to my tree and there is a bugle to the west which makes me think the elk have already crossed the river and have bedded down. Not a great sign.

I was in the tree about a 1/2 hour and heard bugling from the river. It didn't sound like an elk, more likely than not it was a hunter. I had already made my mind up to not bugle, and stick w infrequent, soft cow calling. Another hour went by and all was quiet. I got bored so I started my lost calf calls in a effort to get a mtn lion to respond. Unfortunately shortly after that I spotted a 🤡 - my arch nemesis. He's northbound on the N-S trail that's w/in a few feet of my tree.

I hide my face and hope he doesn't spot me. When I peaked after 15 mins of hiding my face, he was nowhere to be seen, presumably he did an about face and left. I stayed an extra 1/2 hour hoping for a miracle.

2 more days!

Still no replacement car - but the coutesy car is very nice - but no fun! It's a brand new Honda Jazz Hybrid EV. Very smooth and quiet with the gearboxless CVT drive. Feels like a very expensive and comfy milk float :ROFLMAO: Had a drive in a 2022 Honda 2L Type R Civic yesterday. Now THAT is a car! Can't afford to buy or run one though #sulk

Likkle Grandaughter went to her first Hartbeeps session for 'confident sitters' this morning. She had a great time

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:50 was a tad cool, 52 as I went around the building once before breakfast
I'm taking the Gates van at 9am going to be dropped off at Walgreens getting my flu shot. I may walk home since its going to be another sunny day, temps to be near 80
I've invited my Tudor PLaza friend, Janice{we lived on same floor} for a rescheduled lunch at 12:30. The last time she was here was last yr, look forward to seeing her
The rest of my day, read NYT,afternoon stroll
Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning to all. It will be another nice day except a few showers this morning. Tropical Storm Imelda in the Atlanta is moving far away from the US coast. Now, I hope there isn't any more storms but who knows.

We had blueberry waffles from Waffle House yesterday for dinner and they were so good. Sometimes breakfast food is just as good for dinner, too.

I hope all is well for everyone today. :)

Good morning. Waiting for Visiting Nurse, who will replace the bandages on left AND right feet. I believe the intense pain of left foot is lessening!!!!!!!!!! Haven't been here due to pain; have been consumed by it.

After nurse leaves, have telehealth monthly visit with psychiatrist who manages meds. Has been such a hard month with infected left toe; meds need changing. Only have 15 minutes with him, hard to really get anything out of it. I like him; he is very young guy. He's too cautious with meds, I have to remind him I don't have much time left and don't want to spend it depressed and anxious.

I have been walking every day. Medicare gave me a free walker. Keeping it for emergencies. My 97 year old friend, Pat, told me I probably won't get much better and don't know when it will get worse. She wants me to apply for an aid, not to be ashamed to ask for help.

That would hurt psychologically. I'm stubborn. I do need help though. I do.

Have missed you guys last two days.

Chilly morning in NW PA 50*.

We seem to be dealing with trucks that won't operate as they should.
And mechanics that don't show up when expected!

Hopefully hubby will get one truck back in operation.
He has several orders for fire wood.

Expecting one of our sons & his daughter coming for this weekend.
Haa, I'm going to try doing 'some' of the house cleaning that I've let slide.

Should start with living room curtains as the dog likes to look out the window.
The couch is in front of those windows,,.

Hope everyone has a better day than they expected.
Elk hunter gets his elk,, those see or talking with healthcare, get good news.(y)

Hey guys, still hanging in the tree. Wx is warm and breezy, winds out of the north carrying the smell of wet, burnt sagebrush from the 300 acre fire we had yesterday afternoon. Dumb camper burning cardboard, people are so careless. Probably cost a $200K to put out w multiple aircraft involved.

Saw 3 cows moving n by the river and then nothing until 2 spikes appeared s of me about 70 yds. They were eyeing the bedding area making sure no lions were about. I knew I had zero chance to get them to move closer to me. Soft called a few times, but they wanted sleep!!!

I’m getting down soon, 1 day left!

Oh yeah. Breakfast for dinner is delicious, and nothing beats Waffle House! I missed that place during the 34 years I lived up north. There was one, just one, 2 hours from where I lived. It got terrible reviews. I'm like, of course it did!
