It's time for tea...

I can't believe that I've never seen this topic before. I've been a tea drinker for years. I hate coffee. I love iced tea, that's my favorite of course. I drink it 12 months a year. In cold months, I also drink hot tea, mostly herbal, but I do drink regular black tea also. I think I get my sense of humor, and my love of tea from my British ancestors.

When I was living in N.Y.C., a lot of stores would stock the entire line of Twinings teas. Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Prince of Wales, English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast etc. Here in the states, I have always loved Celestial Seasonings herbal teas. This is getting around hot tea season again.

@Paladin1950, I just started this thread Aug. 3rd so no worries. I love Earl Grey. Never tasted the Lady Grey. Never even seen that at the store. I usually just drink whatever cheap black tea I can find.

I read yesterday that Chamomile is from the ragweed family? I'm allergic to ragweed. So I guess I'll hafta stop drinking it. :(

I love coffee but it's getting too expensive and I think it would be better for me to drink tea than coffee so, once my coffee is gone I'm just gonna be drinking tea.

I can't drink Earl Grey because the bergamot in it cramps my stomach. I tried Lady Grey once and it had no adverse effects. Because of that, I thought Lady Grey was a different type of tea. I researched it and found that Lady Grey is actually a branded version of Earl Grey.

@Fritz, do you drink chamomile tea to help you sleep? I do that in the evenings sometime. If that's the reason, you may want to check out if you can drink lemon balm tea or lavender tea to help you sleep.
I will have to drink Yogi Breathe Deep tea. Ordered some just now. It says online black tea is good too for COPD.

Lady Grey Tea ~ Lady Grey tea is a variety of tea which was created by Twinings in the early 1990s and named after Mary Elizabeth Grey, the wife of Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey to appeal to Northern European markets, which apparently found Earl Grey tea too strong in flavour. The name is trademarked to Twinings. Lady Grey differs from Earl Grey in that it contains additional lemon peel and orange peel. It first went on sale in Norway in 1994 and in Britain in 1996. ~ Wikipedia ~

Maybe because it is less strong than Earl Grey (though this writeup doesn't say how it is made less strong) is the reason that it did not hurt my stomach. I wouldn't try it today though, because I have eliminated citrus from my diet for now.

My previous related comment.

It says it's a more delicate version which is likely why. It still has bergamot just not as strong.
