A Popular Toy You Had

I think my favorite may have been the Erector Set. They were too pricey for my family, but a cousin, 10 years older than me, gave me his as a hand-me-down. They came in different sizes, some with additional parts and more of the basic parts that made things you could build that were powered by an electric motor. My cousin's was the deluxe set. I see they are still available, but are more modern and perhaps more lego like. this was mine.

As a second thought, I considered my electric train, but I don't see those as toys, but rather expensive hobbies that get into the thousands of dollars that only adults can afford.

A spudgun. 😜
Not around anymore? I had pop guns that shot corks out, and cap guns. I don't think those are around anymore.
I had a ping pong ball gun. There were different kinds. Mine was a single shot, but more powerful than the repeaters. You could shoot at mirrors and windows, and they wouldn't break anything, even though the ball was traveling at a very high speed.

Been trying hard to think of something but most are still around or morphed into a new updated version
of itself.
Chatty Cathy, toddler sized doll that talked, back then is the nearest I could think of, That and Cap guns
I wanted a certain type of cap gun to play cops and robbers with my friends. It was called the Hubbley Automatic, but it was not available so I bought a Roy Rogers six shooter, which my friends who were serious about their game laughed at, but they let me play anyway, but the Hubbley was much more authentic. It cost $1, but the stores were out. I guess my friends had bought them all.

Over the years, I never got over it, but last year i found one on ebay. Most of them on ebay were damaged and abused, but I found one from the 1950s that was still like new, and I bought it. This was not a stupid impulse buy, I thought about it for months before I bought it. As an antique, it cost me $75. But I finally had a thing I always wanted. Caps are no longer made for it, but the caps available today still kind of fit in it, and every 5th cap or so in the roll lines up by accident so that it fires once in a while.
