The Farmer's Almanac predicts the Northeast (I'm in NH) to have a brutal winter. It's been quite cold lately with little relief in sight.

One of the meteorologist on a local TV channel posted this climate prediction map for the last half of December. It appears there is some hope for some of us.

yesterday, December 8, had to be one of the worst weather days I can remember since retiring south of the Mason Dixon line. My dogs were depressed. My horses were depressed. It was just a nasty nasty day that never got out of the 30° temperature range. Our average is middle 50° for this time of year. It wouldn’t have been so bad if we had sunshine, but it was thick cloud cover all day and tries as it might, the sun never could break through.

Even my normally yippee skippy happy self was not happy yesterday. I was a regular Grumpy Stiltskin. This map at least gives me hope that my portion of the United States will soon be back to average temperatures, which is why I moved down here in the first place.

Storm Bram is bringing heavy rain and strong winds to parts of the UK, with the Met Office issuing several “danger to life” weather warnings in parts of Wales and south-west England. Forecasters say the storm could damage buildings and cause power cuts and travel disruption tonight.

It's been terrible here...biblical rain for days...floods everywhere....
Today however was dry and sunny.. not enough I suspect in the short daylight hours to dry up many sodden places.. but a welcome change from the last week of torrential rain and storm Bram

However it's not cold.. it's dark and 10 deg now at 5.5pm

It's been snowing lightly all day. Supposed to continue until around 1am tomorrow. I have to deliver meals tomorrow, so need to shovel the driveway. The meals were cancelled today. Since today isn't my regular day, I wasn't notified, but that info is easily obtained online. I just checked to see if it was.
