I've got to be at the hospital tomorrow morning for 8.30am..... I'm having a minor surgery done ....

why would you want your missus to meet Lech Walesa...?.. i thought he was dead by now..
He's still a bit of a hero of mine from back in the 80s. His leadership of the Gdansk workers through the Solidarity movement helped to set off the breakdown of the USSR, and freedom for the Polish people, as well as the other European countries held under the sway of the Politburo.

The saddest thing is seeing the way the EU is now trying to emulate the USSR by trying to force all the constituent countries to conform to one set of laws, just like the Communists did back in the old days.

Good afternoon everyone. It rained all day yesterday but not a lot of rain. It is cloudy today and will be cold tonight (42 degrees). We will have some nights that cold and then warming up again. No wonder people have colds.

@Trila I hope you feel better soon. 🤗

@hollydolly wow, your weather sounds horrible. Please drive carefully tomorrow and best wishes to you.🤗

Have a good day, everyone and I hope all of you stay well. :)

21°F, winds at 21 mph, gusting to 30, they slowed the top lift since the wind was perpendicular to line of travel. Note the flag on the skimobile.

Made a few laps and then stopped for coffee at the original, now decrepit Lookout Lodge. The other 3 lodges are magnificent. I leave a jar of instant coffee in the employee break room so I don't have to pay $6.00 for ordinary (weak) coffee.

How fabulous, I wish I lived there .....

Quiet(ish) day today. Likkle Grandaughter was with us for the day. Did a session down on the prom photographing high tide waders while Mrs Oy took here to her 'Reading Fairies' session at a local community centre. Spent most of the afternoon being a grandad and also editing photos from our trip to Cambridge at the weekend. This evening we went down to our fave craft beer bar for pie, mash, peas and gravy with a couple of beers - cheers!

I had Ham & mushroom Tagliatelle for dinner..very late almost 10pm...

It's 10.45pm now..I've got to be up around 6am.. but I'm not tired, so I've taken a sleeping pill in the hope it will make me tired enough to get at least a few hours sleep before I have to get up.
These early morning appointments are a nightmare for night owls.. cuz my regular bedtime is about 3am, so trying to get to sleep before than is very difficult if not impossible..

I took an Uber to my PCP appointment today. After I signed in, the receptionist told me I did not have an appointment !! I told her yes I did...I made the appointment online in their portal. She said it must' not have gone through because they would have called me to confirm (which dawned on me is true). I told her I had taken an Uber and was taking one home and certainly wouldn't want to have incurred that expense for nothing. She called in the back and the doctor told her his nurse could take care of me. He was busy with patients and was due to leave out right after that.

My PCP and I have love for one another and consider ourselves friends and fellow musicians (he plays a Clavinova like I do). Both our sons are in the music business and we trade stories. I would have been so disappointed if I didn't get a chance to see him before the holidays. I heard him talking when he left an exam room and after the PA left the room (she took all the preliminary information and did the tests they do before the doctor comes in), I peeked out and he was sitting at the desk right in front of the exam room I was in.

When he saw me, he smiled, came in, gave a quick hug then closed the door and whispered "tomorrow is my birthday, I don't want them all to know". He told me about the surprise party his wife (who I also love) threw for him last night at a nice restaurant. His wife's big surprise was that she invited a friend who used to play in the band with my doctor, and his wife (who sings) so they could perform. They invited my doctor to play a digital Wurlitzer piano on one of the songs. My doctor thought it was so cool that his friend happened to find this piano and got it in shape to be played at his party.

He also showed me pictures of his two grandchildren....boy and girl aged 4 and 1 respectively. I can't believe how they've grown so fast. And they are so cute. I told him the little boy looks cunning and he confirmed he is indeed a con artist. :D He was over the moon about the party and we were happy we got a chance to see each other before he went to the next patient.

I was seen by the nurse who was nice and thorough. She commented on some of my bloodwork; the results were good. She sent the new prescriptions I needed to my pharmacy. And although I was initially told I might have to wait for quite a while until other patients who had appointments were seen, I arrived home about one hour and 5 minutes after the appointment time that I was given on their portal. Because he takes so much time with his patients (takes 45 mins to 1 hour with me), I remember when the wait time might have been an hour. He was striving to reduce wait times and based on my last few appointments, he's succeeding.

Is your surgery tomorrow outpatient?
yes it's outpatient ..removals of 2 Basal Cell skin carcinomas one on my leg the other on my arm...

It's 5.25am now...I didn't get to bed until 1.45am... the heavy rain woke me at 4.20 am... 🌧️ 🌧️ 🌧️ and I couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up and showered, and now I'm having a cup of tea... . When I get back from the hospital I might be tired enough to have a little nap...

I hope it all goes well HD. 🤞

I went to bed last night at 8.30pm (instead of my normal midnight to 1am), and was up at 4am to take the missus up to Luton airport. Got her to the Luton Parkway station for 5.30am and from there she caught the shuttle train up to the airport. The train costs a fiver, but going up to the airport itself costs £7, so dropping her at the station saved us £2, which is more than the cost of the petrol to get up there and back.

There was some rain in the air, and a lot of standing water on the motorway. So visibility was not great, and I noticed that even in the fast lanes, the traffic was down to 60mph instead of the normal 75mph (despite the 70mph speed limit)

Got home OK, and missus texted to say she was at the airport and meeting up with her mate Sarah.

Since then I've sat and done the crossword in this morning's Metro, and had a cup of coffee and a donut. Now beginning to flag somewhat and I might take myself off to bed for a couple of hours, just to get my body clock back to normal.

I'm up quite early today, around 3:30 am, in the border between "Should I go back to sleep for a bit?" and "Should I just get up and start my day?" I'm choosing the latter.

I have nothing terribly exciting on the agenda today, just work and various mundane tasks. We're supposed to get freezing rain and winds up to 55 mph (~89 kmh) today, so I am not venturing outdoors. 🌧️ 🌬️ I got my errands done yesterday.

I hope everyone is having a good day (or evening). :)

I'm back from the hospital... the rain has stopped it's still very wet, but on the way to hospital it was torrential rain and of course it was rush hour, school traffic everywhere.... I got to the hospital and give that the outpatient dept doesn't open until 8am.. and appointments start at 8.30am.. there was only 1 space left in the car park, and I was lucky to get it...

When I came out after my surgery.. 2 hours later there was a queue of cars waiting for spaces..

Anyway I'm numbed up stitched up.. and bandaged up.. They say the numbing injections will wear off within 3 hours and that's gonna be another hour yet.. and that it'll be quite sore... so .. a joyful day to look forward to..lol

I called my GP surgery (office).. and made an appointment for the stitches to be removed in about 2 weeks

@BJintheUK ..you did right to drop your wife at Parkway... cheaper as you say than the drop off at the airport.. but also less busy... and it meant you didn't have to drive all the way up to the airport..

Did you go in via the M1..or did you drive along the lower luton road.....the lower road would likely have been flooded... , and my concern is always that if the B roads are flooded, you can't tell where the potholes are.. not that you would have been able to see them in the dark at 5am anyway...

I think she's crazy.. getting up so early.. just to fly to a Christmas market in Poland....but whatever she enjoys .. then all power to her elbow...I hope she's landed safely and in her hotel by the time you've had your nap

It's now 2.40pm here... and I'm just sitting here thinking of all the things I've done this morning... without breakin a sweat ..

I first drove in the pouring rain and rush hour to the hospital, and had surgery.. which involved cutting out a substantial piece of my skin... with several painful injections included..then I drove myself home after ...

When I got home.. I made a cuppa tea, and the phone rang and it was the insurance company...still talking about the vehicle crash..

Next I washed up the dishes.... and then took delivery of a package..

Then I ordered new prescription night driving glasses..online...

Then I called the dr's surgery to make an appt to have my stitches taken out iin a couple of weeks... a little while later the surgery rang me, with an avaiable appointment for the shingles vaccine..next week

Then my dd WhatsApped me...

Then I went out to the shed to get food from the freezer to defrost for later... and found the dehumidifier needed emptying, so I did that

Then I made lunch... and posted on the forum

.. and now I've made another hot drink...... and I'm astonished that I've done all that on just 2 hours sleep...:D

I just woke up, so I'm not really sure, but I seem to be well enough to go to the gym today. I'll cut back on what (or how much) I do, depending on how I feel at the time. Temperature seems to have the biggest influence on how much my sinuses hurt. It was good to hear that, starting today, we will be having nicer/warmer weather for the rest of the week.

We have a few quick stops to make after the gym, then home. And, of course.....it's pizza day! 🍕

Another snow day here. Currently 28 degrees Fahrenheit. Went with wife to visit daughter at the market where she works. Bought ingredients for meatloaf tonight. Picked up dog from her house (we trade back and forth.)

Plan on swimming later, also drawing/painting and reading.
