How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

We're having a window replaced and the workers are making a lot of racket. But when they're finished, I'm going to take the dog for a walk around an old college campus that's being renovated into one of those downtown communities with housing, shopping, entertainment... I just want to see what they did with it. The main building was built in the 1800s. I love old architecture, so I'm glad they didn't tear it down.

I thought they'd be further along than with the renovation. They're making lofts out of the classrooms and offices, but as you can see in the photo, the windows are all boarded up. I only saw a few people around the campus who looked like workers. Maybe they ran out of money. :unsure:

I don't think doctors routinely subscribe Mounjaro unless there's a great threat to your health.. so I hope it works for whatever you're getting treated for.....unlike the vast amount of people who are buying it , outside of a doctors prescription...

Yep, could stand to lose 50 to 60 lbs I gained after the hip replacement 5 years ago,
 
gOOD MORNING all folks!!! It is 29F but temps not going to rise today sez the weather peeps!!! Slept fairly well, no big plans for the day....
I NEED TO order the special popcorn gifts for some folks, may do a bit
of laundry....got hung up onto witchy streaming stuff now on tv,

@hawkdon It's our last nice day here...our overnight temp tonight is supposed to be 41 and be all downhill from there tomorrow. Looks like you're sending us your nasty weather. The good news is that the worst of it will be over by midweek.

@hearlady I'm sure glad for my Ladies Loungewear (with pockets!) because I'm gonna need warm jammies. It's gonna get down to the teens tomorrow night. Teens! If God had wanted me to be cold, he wouldn't have led me to the South.

You had to mention biscotti. Soon you will find me on your doorstep, waiting to be taste tester. Couple hundred will require 10 biscotti for me, plus two cups of coffee. I will let you know PDQ how you did. I am ever optimistic, and expect them to taste great!
 
Afternoon peeps of SF..
Well it's once again dark..... it's only 4.20pm..but it always seems to be dark now beause it doesn't get light until 8am.. then it's dark again at 4pm....

Took delivery of a bunch of stuff..hair bands, new hair brushes and combs .. etc.. got the little set of cushion handles Crochet hooks as well that I ordered last week.. going to be brilliant to use with no pain to my fingers... and it means I can exercise my injured hand by crocheting again...

@Della , I hope you're having a fab birthday...

Mine freezes up when I sleep. This morning I woke ay 8:06 and couldnt hobble to the kitchen until 10:15. I'm just so thankful that it eventually lets me move about. I drove myself and two housemates to the store and we stocked up for the weekend. I picked up both pizza and wine because I deserve it.
 
I've cleaned every inch of my home. I'm sitting here procrastinating on the last thing. The kitchen floor. I need a break.
Our dryer went out today. 😕😯 Luckily I hadn't started the load of wash that's in the washer. I was going to knock wrinkles out of a tablecloth and realized there's no heat. We'll deal with it after the festivities.

2 hours with your back seized ?..oooh no.. that's too much.

(((Babs))) I suggest you get an electric heating pad, and sleep with it on your back if you can, so it keeps the muscles from seizing up during the night .. if you can't manage to sleep with it, keep it on your bedside cabinet next to your bed, and reach out and switch it on the moment you wake, heat it up for a few minutes and apply it to you back..

Having back issues myself..I'm so upset to read that its taking 2 hours of pain before you can get out of bed... :cry:

Thanks HD. I have a heating pad but I haven't tried it in months. It's time to give it another try. Usually it only takes an hour and I distract myself as best I can with crossword puzzles.
 
preparations for Xmas all seems like a load of nonsense to me - you come and we drink and chat and then you finally depart - wots the big deal ? - do you wanna xmas tree and fairies and decorations??
