The house you grew up in

It was torn down and a new, small single story house built in its place many years later.

My nephew lives in it now. He is the fourth generation to live on that property, which was the small dairy farm my paternal grandparents bought when they came through Ellis Island.

The house never was anything of historical value.

What really upsets me is when my brother told me the ancient bank barn fell down. It takes a lot of money to keep things like this standing. He just didn’t have the money when he was younger, and I didn’t make enough money to help him with it.. By the time he did have the money it was too late to save it.

I live 2 blocks away from my childhood home, looks the same from the outside
4 yrs ago the house was for sale, young couple with 2 kids bought it from the woman who bought it from my parents. A couple months later, as I was walking by,I introduced myself to the husband, he invited me in to meet his wife. She was happy to meet me,I saw kitchen, dining room, living room, it basically looked the way I remembered it,with a few changes.

Torn down and a small 3 or 4 story apt built there. I guess we couldn't afford the house anymore and my mom had to go back to work. This was late 50's. Also I lived there until I was 5 and don't remember much of it. The next place was a 2 bedroom house and I lived there until 1972 when I left to get married the first time.
