A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Sorry for you doggie's pain. :( I saw a thread about Cortisone for dog's so I'm hoping you're getting some good advice there. ❤️

ETA: Meant to say that the icy river pictures today are awesome.
Thanks Medusa. I’m making an appointment with the vets tomorrow. I just want to be educated or in the know about all the different options and their side effects.

I hate seeing my dog(s) in pain. They are family.

Today we went on the atv trail that runs along the river. Our older dog has a poor paw. Last night after letting her outside before bedtime, she had a hard time getting up the 3 steps. Shes 13 years old. I am going to take her to a vet in Halifax in hopes that they can do something for her. I’ve heard of other people taking their dog to the vet to get them a shot of cortisone. Apparently it lasts for months and relieves pain for your dog. We have a doggie stroller but I’ve rather use that for absolute last minute solution. If anyone has any info about this, please share your thoughts.

Today we walked along the atv trail with the The River running by it. Most of the snow is gone. It was 5 degrees today.

The river was running fast and furious.

Parts of the trail was icy but most of it was easy to walk on. We considered goog to the park but the road to it is all gated up so we changed our mind. It was a nice 4 kilometre walk.

On the way back we spotted some deer . They were very well camouflaged View attachment 476666

I always enjoy your photos, Patty. You have a great eye for composition. Some are dramatic and others serene. I really liked one a few days ago that had little wisps of grass sticking up through the snow. It seemed so very familiar.

It’s a beautiful picture Kadee. The clouds are so pretty. I happen to appreciate cloud formation also. Where are your next travels taking you?

Thank you very much Babs2u. Your comments are much appreciated.

Today we walked on the Celtic Trail. It’s open enough for the sun to melt all the ice off of the trail which it had, so it was safe walking and no need for cleats. Plus we are needing to lessen the hills for our sweet older dog to help her paw.

The snow covered rock that the birds used to sit on. Now it’s too icy for them to perch there.

Red Sea weed. You can even smell it.

It was a lovely walk. We saw three other people walking today. It’s about a 4 to 5 kilometre walk.

Oh I’m sorry to read that. Rest up and be kind to yourself Kadee. We will miss you but will look forward to your return.

Today we went on an open ATV trail. The forest trails are too slippery . The sun doesn’t get a chance to melt the snow like it does on the atv tails. This one we’ve only been on just once. Theres not really much to see but I did take pictures to and from this walk. This is the trail. It’s nice and flat. Easy walking!

On our walk we met up with a big flock of gold finches. I took a picture but their colour is gone now since it’s winter so they were too camouflaged to really see anything.

Here’s an old piece of farming equipment left in the field to rust.

Here’s a fresh water lake near the path we walked on.

A bench to sit on part way along the trail. We walked about 4 to 5 kilometres today.

Really nice pictures, Patty. Especially the one with the piece of farm equipment and the one with the reflected images on the lake. You really have an eye for beauty.
