Parking lots and what bugs me

Perfectly healthy young people in handicap spaces
Those who won't put a shopping care in the designated area
People blocking the lane waiting for that favored parking spot
Mr jerk who uses two spaces so his car won't get a ding
NASCAR like drivers in the lane
 

Walmart has designated the best parking spots - those nearest entrances - for customers who sit in cars waiting to pick up orders, while those of us who park and walk inside to shop must then park further away. It seems the opposite should be the case. Those who are simply driving up onto a parking lot with no need to go inside would be just as well off parked further away.

I think that's everyone's bugbears.. but here in the Uk supermarkets if you take up 2 spaces , park in a disablity spot wwithout a disability badge or you stay longer than 2 hours in most of them, you get a large fine....

Panhandlers who approach me in the parking lot on my way to my car.

I don't know if the rather-rough-looking guy who's shuffling toward me and muttering something is going to just ask me politely for some change or knock me down and make off with my purse. I'm an old lady....I don't want to be knocked down.

It's rather common in my Walmart lot for there to be Panhandle. I've complained to the store but apparently there's not much they can do about it.

I guess they do it so their staff has a shorter walk, but in my humble opinion.... unless you ARE handicapped, this should have gone away with the end of Covid. Two choices, ship it or walk your butt inside and get it LOL !

Ah, well that is for the employees, not the customers.
They want the rummers in and out as quickly as possible.

My stores pickup parking is right behind the store. Makes better sense. When you think about it thats where they keep your stuff until you pick it up. In the back. Why drag it all the way thru the store and out the front. Easier on the runners too.

Ive done one pickup there. You pull up by the door. Call them on your cell and a kid comes out and loads your stuff in the back. You dont even have to get out of your car. Even though this was very convenient its probably not wise for me for the same reason I dont do home delivery. I need forced mingling. :D

I dont think grocery pickup is going away anytime soon. I need to get my butt inside and walk. But while some people might not be disabled, they still cant walk that much. Or they have three kids and they dont want to deal with them in the store. If I still worked I could see ordering online and picking up on the way home.

I do think its better for everybody to have the pickup spots behind the store instead of out front.

Just out of curiosity how do you know they're perfectly healthy in those handicap spaces? Just based on what you see and assume? Or actual knowledge? Just curious.
 
People who use the lot as a dump and leave a pile of half eaten chicken bones or their kids shit filled pampers or the contents of their cars ashtray that they finally empited after 6 months, etc etc. .

Me too. Besdies, I want to feel there are some things I need to do in life besides have people bring me everything. I don't have a whole lot to occupy my time as it is.
 
In my opinion it is lack of being courteous. People talk a big game, but their actions are the truth.
People are rude and simply do not care about putting others out.

I am not as bugged by parking space for pick up as I am of those shopping for those picking up. Often Park their shopping cart type thing in middle of an aisle and no consideration those in store are customers ....

I live in area with plenty or rain and so many seem to be able to just put the cart back into a cart corral.
People who leave trays on table at fast food instead of putting them in spot by garbage or travel people do not put away bins at airport security...
all these types are usually vocal about slow moving lines etc but cannot see their behavior is part of the problem.
 
Parking lots that are designed for small vehicles with their tight spaces and squiddly drive lanes. I drive a full size pickup because I need to drive one since I live in the country and haul stuff. These danged parking lots are getting worse and worse for maneuverability.

Unfortunately, picking up orders (sitting in the car) is getting bigger and bigger in this town. I want to pick out what I buy. I need the exercise. I want the experience of doing something with my time. I want to be a moving, circulating part of the world I live in.
