The Place is in the Song.

When I stand on top of the cathedral
I look down
Then I see the old canal
The Vreeburg and district C
Yes, then my heart leaps open
I'm proud, what do you think?
There's no more beautiful place
than Utrecht, my city
than Utrecht, my city
Utereg, my city, there's so much going on
It's bustling everywhere in the heart of the country
The Sterrenwijk, Houtplein, and Lange Rozendaal
Utereg, the most beautiful of all
I was born in a house in the Sack Carrying Alley
Near Jan de Tent nose's lodgings
All the broken and crazy beards fill the sweetest slots
Cross-eyed Ockeloen and blue Teus
I've lived in Utrecht all my life and I'm having a good time
Because there's so much going on here
You can go dancing or to bars
And you step into life
With beautiful girls and with flippers on the wall
I had to google Utereg. I'd never heard of it. I like that song. It's a good polka like song and catchy.

My son used to pull in the driveway after school blasting this song and dancing
his heart out for the kids in my home day care. The kids would squeal with glee
around him and dance. This song brings that vision back to me each time I hear it.
