Good morning to everyone. It is warm and sunny 70 degrees and in the mid 80's today.

I have a delivery coming from the grocery store and the shopper has a very strange name and one I haven't had before. Sometimes the shopper has a woman's name and is a man who delivers. I just hope they get the items I ordered right. I do go to the store myself but cannot do a whole week's worth.

Yes, prices are going up here, too, with gas prices and food.

I hope all of you stay well and have a nice day.
 
Good morning everyone!!! Hope all folks are doing the
best they can this morning.....I was up about 445am today,
just laid on the couch for awhile, no to get in gear and
eat some breky and got one more laundry load to do....
Looked out back and find that the storm knocked down
a bunch of limbs, one about 15 feet long....so got to find
someone to do a whole yard cleanup....but may put it off
for a bit to see if any more storms pass thru...kinda sore
all over today, specially the left hip, no dancing today...hope
Pepper is doing better today, and all who are suffering....don't
forget to change the durned clocks!!!:p:love::devilish:
 
It's some where in the 50's, suppose to get warmer today.

Hubby hopes to move pile of firewood today.
Once that pile is gone,, that area will probably remain empty.

To early for the tree trimmers to bring in any dead trees.

if we get any will give hubby something to do.

Yesterday we had our good friends in.
They have two children, 15 months apart.

The little boy is starting to get into things.
The little girl is 'cutting teeth', she usually has a lovely smile.

Nice to have young children around ,, for awhile!

After they left, I sat down by hubby & went to sleep!

I have a busy day ahead but am having trouble getting started. 🥱 I need more coffee.

I need to get my taxes done this weekend, and I'm dreading it. My income fluctuates, and it's hard to predict. I've owed money the past few years. In 2025 I kept a stringent record, and my income decreased from 2024, so it may not be too bad. But I did use part of an ACA subsidy to help pay for health care, and that's what has tripped me up in the past (i.e., using too much, income increased, had to pay it back). We'll see!

I volunteered to help review scholarships for one of my alma maters, thinking it would just be a handful. Last week they sent 25 (!!), and they want them reviewed by March 15! Yikes! I was expecting half a dozen at most. I just hope they are not too long. Luckily, they are having more than one person review each application, so the decision isn't only in my hands. I'm happy to help because I truly love the university, and it's not like I have scads of money to donate.

Tomorrow we are supposed to hit 70 degrees! (21 C) But then we are back to the 20s, with snow in the forecast, on Monday. So I will have to be sure to get outside tomorrow.

It's been a long time coming..

For those who don't know, he attacked and killed 2, little 10 year old girls in a sleepy little village near where my daughter lives ... after enticing them into his home on the pretext that their Class teaching assitant who lived there wanted to see them. she wasn't there but he proceded to beat them to death.. then bury their bodies in the woods.... then the teacher's aid girlfriend gave him an alibi...

At the time of their deaths the little girls were wearing their favourite red Manchester United football Shirts...


Over the years he's been protected by prison officers.. as a high risk prisoner.. .. despite many attempted attacks, no-one has managed to seriously hurt him
To further show he has no remorse... officers stormed his cell when they discovered he was wearing the same MU football shirt, but with the number 10 on them ...the age of the girls when he killed them...


.... so many prisoners have been hoping to get their hands on hm for a long time..

Today someone got to him, and beat him half to death with an iron bar...

a follow up to my post 2 weeks ago about the child killer Ian Huntley ... he has died a horrible painful death today . Apparently his head was destroyed in the attack, and he was blinded... never came out of the induced coma...

I'm not delighted because it's all so terrible..... but I am thankful that he can never harm another person......I really do hope there is a hell for people like him

I dug out my burn pit today bucket by bucket and spread it at the top of the ditch in back. It would be so much easier if I'd do it once a year so I will. I also weeded the asparagus bed and covered some beds I won't be using so the weeds will die off.
Now laundry and vacuuming.
I know why I had a headache! I ate lunch at my neighbors and I just remembered she said they use decaf because of her husband's heart. So, I missed my afternoon caffeine. That will do it even though I only drink two cups a day.
 
My stress level has skyrocketed. My father has been sick and today was taken to the ER via ambulance. He's being transferred to a larger hospital in an adjacent city. He's 92, and I'm quite worried.

There's a whole long, complicated backstory to this that I won't get into. But I did just blow $60 at Walmart on mozzarella sticks, ice cream, Reese's peanut butter cups, and other unhealthy snacks. I figure it was either that or chardonnay.

I did pick up some fresh blueberries and blackberries in an attempt to balance things out. :ROFLMAO:

you did right to spend that money on that junk food for today.... given how stressed you are.. and well done to you for doing it..

I hope your dad gets better soon and it turns out to be nothing too serious
 
I would easily get rid of my overweight if my wife weren't such a fabulous cook. Actually, I became overweight only
after I had married her. How can I say, "no," to my wife when it smells and looks so good?

Maybe I should travel to Lough Derg, Ireland, "Every year, more than 10,000 pilgrims make their way to Lough Derg, to take part in an intense three-day pilgrimage, following a 1,000-year-old tradition of strict fasting, keeping vigil and barefoot prayer." I bet I would shed some weight. Actually, we saw the island without crossing over. From what I remember, parking was a nightmare. But perhaps walking a mile is a part of that program.

@Imogene No, not kidney beans. I would have to ask my wife. To me the main ingredient seems to be refried beans with something else and cheese on top of it. At the top-right is enchilada, while the other two are veggie salads.

This stuff is AMAZING! I have already got my $22 worth. I might have sprayed 2 tablespoons across two huge picture windows and the bathroom window. I had to sweep my way thru the bathroom at Midnight and sucked up mega amounts of beetles with the vacuum in the early morning.

They aren’t totally gone yet, but what a relief to not see my SW window plastered with them.

I'm so sorry about your father KSav. Sending up a special prayer for his healing.

@packleader My son is fasting for Ramadan, at least another week and a half. That fast only takes place for a certain part of each day (before sun up and near sundown). Even when its not Ramadan, he will arbitrarily go on 3 or 10 day fasts. He was diagnosed as diabetic a few years ago and I don't know how he does it, but he's been doing it for decades. I'm diabetic too, so I don't fast due to my tendency to get hypoglycemic if I go too long without eating. To you both....at least you're attempting to eat healthy. :LOL:

Earlier in the day, I did some light cleaning.This evening my son took me out for my birthday dinner. My birthday was on the 24th, but I welcome celebrations up to a month after. We went to Dallas BBQs in Secaucus, N.J. One sip of their virgin pina colada, which I love, my eyes rolled back in my head and I said OMG! I got boneless "sticky wings", coleslaw and corn bread.

I had eaten some food already; pictured are the leftovers from which I can probably have 4 more meals. The sticky sauce, which looks like ketchup here, is lighter and more orangey than shown in the picture..BTW...this is the small pina colada. My son had a medium which was twice the size (20 ounces). I enjoyed hanging out with him and having a nice conversation.

the clocks changed last eve so did all 3 of them just
now at 4 to 5 am....LOL...kinda like magic huh !?
On my first cuppa so don't expect much....no idea
what I'm doing today.....laundry all done, banking all
caught up for now, mailed some doc's to the hospital
about the bills from my last visit....I got a package
stuffed into my mailbox, so guess I'll try to walk
down there, my mail kid hasn't shown up since last

I overheated my new Braun blender mixing almond butter. I'm mad at myself. Should have known better!
I got it at a very good deal at Christmas. The return window ended Jan 31st.
If I hadn't been the cause I'd call Amazon. I'll wait for a deal again as the replacement price is twice what I paid. 😞
I've been all over YouTube looking for fixes. A reset button might help but I can't find one.
 
Morning all,what a difference a day makes, yesterday the predicted thunderstorms never materialized. There was a downpour early then it became a p. sunny day high was 72
This morning on my early walk at 6:50 temp was 37, wore my yellow reflector vest since it was still dark as I strolled around the building before breakfast Today's forecast, sunny in 40's
This morning, close friend, Marcia&hubby Dave are picking me& neighbor, Bill up at 10 going to our 10:30 church service Afterwards,me, Bill&Jerry are going to brunch at noon in dining room, along with new resident, Russ who lives across the hall from me. I called in the reservation this morning{has to be in by 9:30}
The rest of my day read my book,take another walk this afternoon. I cancelled my Sun delivery subscription to Buffalo News after the price was jacked up $30 without any notice. I wasn't; going to pay $199 for 13 weeks,what a ripoff
Yesterday, talked with my brother because today he& his wife, their 2 best friends, Caleb&his wife Shay are flying to Galopos Islands will return on March 18th
