YAAA!!!! First Day of Spring,,, Friday!!!

Hope it's worldwide Sunny day .

When I read these two sentences, I thought, "So don't we all".

Does that make sense to you or anyone? It's a normal way of speaking in Massachusetts, at least in the Boston area. It means the exact same thing as "so do we all".

If you know how to make it make sense, please enlighten me. Meanwhile, it's a manner of speaking that seems to be permanently in my head. Probably because I think it is delightful.

It makes perfect sense to me.... we speak like that here... :D

Not me- when I read it, my thought/question was "So don't we all" WHAT???

I've been hearing and using that phrase all my life, including in CA. I think it's common expression.

Morning all,on usual early walk at 6:50 temp was 36, no breeze as I walked across the street to buy local paper and walked back around the building. I saw 2 people running one was wearing blinking yellow vest, other had a green one. At 10:46am, it'll officially be Spring-YIPPEE! I'm happy to see this winter gone with no more bone chilling temps, our snow total was 92 inches, avg is 95
My plans today, weekly exercise class at 10,our instructor,Susie was off last week, she was in Florida visiting family, wonder if she experienced long lines at the airport .The rest of my day ck out the lunch& dinner menu, read today's NYT, my book. I hope to take another walk this afternoon before the rain comes
Everybody have a good day

hot dogs to bait the fox with meds inside...housekeeper lady will
be here at 11am.....somewhat achy today...ole bod won't let me be on my
feet for more than 10 mins, now it is painful.....okay thats my day so far,
hope you all make it a great day, TGIF....:love::coffee::devilish:

I'm feeling a little down today. I was up past 3:00 am, working, and I'm just too old for that at this point. I didn't drag myself out of bed until about 45 minutes ago. Now I am going to miss one of my two deadlines. The best way to guarantee you will not get work is to miss a deadline. My stomach is in knots.

It's a beautiful day outside, though—very fitting for the first day of spring! We have more snow coming this weekend. I'll need to duck outdoors for at least a minute at some point.

My younger daughter finally got home safely; whew! Her boyfriend is one of the most outgoing, cheerful persons I have ever met; I think he could probably make friends with a brick wall. Still, I imagine the trip home, with its canceled flights and long lines, tried even his patience. But they are now home, so all is good!

I hope everyone is having a nice day.

Good morning! I've been awake since 4 so pretty sure there will be a nap in my immediate future. Took care of my business chores yesterday so no big brain work to be done today. Good thing, because it's best to be firing on all cylinders when dealing with spreadsheets.

I think a carpal tunnel issue is happening with my right wrist. It's been painful for a few weeks. I've heavily padded the sore area with several layers of fleece and am wearing a brace most of the day, but it doesn't seem to be improving. Not sure what else to do on the self-help front. Suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the same problem... my neighbour who also has suffered from it says there's only one relief and that is steroid injection...she says it lasts for about 4 months

I'm too much of a coward to go and get it, the pain is between my thumb and fingers...but she says the pain from the steroid injection is excrutiating, altho' worth it..

In the meantime, I just keep my keyboard at elbow level.. use ice whenever it's too sore... but Chatgpt says this...

3. Gentle Stretching & Nerve Glides

Do these slowly—no pain:

Wrist flexor stretch

  • Arm straight, palm up
  • Gently pull fingers back with other hand
  • Hold 15–30 seconds

Median nerve glide (simple version)

  • Arm out to the side, palm facing up
  • Slowly extend wrist and fingers, then relax
  • Repeat 5–10 times

These help reduce pressure on the median nerve (the nerve affected in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome).

An old mate came visiting earlier and I asked him if his arthritis is still a nuisance.

He told me that a woman physiotherapist had been recommended, so he made an appointment.
When he went to her clinic, she told him that the pains in his shoulders would benefit from massage, so he lay on the table and she went to work on him.
He asked her, "Wouldn't it be more beneficial to massage my shoulders instead of the lower part of my body?"
She replied, "What I'm doing will not only rid you of all your pains, it will also put a smile on your face." 😆

Goodness me I can definitely tell it's been 6 months since I did any kind of heavy gardening...

I got the Ivy cut back, got one side of the front and top of the hedging done.. left the other side for now...

Sprayed the weeds with weed killer... pulled up some weeds.. got rid of old pants etc.. all in all including waiting for the hedge trimmer to recharge it took about 4 hours.. with abot 2 of those actively working...

My very unreliable gardener, said he would be here tomorrow.. so I was getting everything kind of ready for him. However I text him this morning to ensure he's coming tomorrow but now at 4.40pm there's still no reply.

I'm fed up with him...

I'd cut the lawns myself but the new mower that I bought last summer, is nowhere nearly as good at collecting the cuttings as my previous Bosch, so I was depending on the gardener to come with his industrial mower and get this first cut of the years... *sigh*

@KSav, where the delays for your DD & friend caused by the lack of TSA? A mother worries.

Good luck with your deadlines.
Thank you, @Jules, and yes, the delays were due to a lack of TSA agents, as well as to a lack of flight crew at one point, she said. They apparently flew to Austin, but then their flight home was canceled. (There aren't a lot of flights to North Dakota.) So they took an Uber to San Antonio and—I think (?)—flew from there to Denver. Then there was a holdup in Denver, but they finally did get home yesterday.

I tried not to nag her, but I still fall into that please-text-me-when-you-get-home-safely pattern, even though both my daughters are nearly 30. I have to say, they're pretty patient, although I'm sure there is some eye-rolling going on, ha ha.

@StarSong, I have been struggling with a return of carpal tunnel lately, too—and @hollydolly, you and I must have found the same website, because I found those same exercises online yesterday. (And yeesh, how frustrating with your gardner, still!)

Mine has been worse than usual, so I bought a wrist brace, which I mentioned in the "What Have You Bought Lately" thread, and I think you both saw that post. It's helped, but the pain is now radiating up my arm, almost to my shoulder. Getting away from the computer would help, of course. Speaking of that, I'd better get back to work.

Ahh, sorry; I see now that you said you used ChatGPT, not a website.
I'm sure Chatgpt gets their info from those websites lol.. it just saves a lot of scrolling through those various websites..

Sorry you're suffering as well, yours sounds so much worse than mine .. the worst of it is with mine is that it's in the same hand that suffered so much damage in the car crash and is still semi paralysed..

I often wonder if the cause was intitally due to using the keyboard every day for decades..

Raining this morning,,, wonder if it will change to sunshine later today.

Gave hubby a hair cut, then thought about cutting my own hair.
Keep hoping that my good friend will stop by ,,,, then she could cut my hair.

Oldest son is coming back from his trip to Antarctica.
Hope being away from his work,,let him relax.

Enjoy the day,, everyone.
