How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

I did! Very nice that they honored you as well.🥰
yes it took me several seconds to realise what it said when they brought it out on the dessert.... the waitress went to put it in front of me.. and I thought it said ''happy Birthday'' so I pointed to my daughter and said .. no it's for her.... and DD said...No Mum look closely at what it says...

I notice in Wal-Mart that the morning music is 70s soft rock and the like. In the evening it switches to the Baby got Back style, if you know what I mean. 😀
I was in Walmart once, in the middle of the afternoon, and they were playing the Violent Femmes! 😄 I love them, but they're not exactly family friendly. I even stopped and texted my friends, but they don't like music, so the name Violent Femmes meant nothing to them. A few minutes later the song cut directly to something a little more moderate.

I woke up later than planned and have been racing around. I still wasn't feeling too hot yesterday, so I rested and wasn't terribly productive. I have a lot of work to catch up on, and all my cleaning still to do. (I can deal with some clutter, but not dirt.)

I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning,, Folks
Great to see every one is up & about.

We had rain Friday which made yard where hubby had been working ,, too muddy.

Saturday we went out to eat at little place in another small town.
Its a small place, decorated with wild game mounts. ( wild birds, deer heads on the walls)
Lot of small restaurants decorate with mounts,, wild live pictures.

We went over to a large Greenhouse the Amish have.
Lot of the flowers weren't in bloom,.
Those that were smelled lovely.

Was a nice day for a long ride on back roads,,not lot of traffic.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning to everyone. The temperature today will be 82 and cooler overnight at 56 degrees,

I just can't win with my deliveries from the post office, another order is lost somewhere. I contacted that company and no answer so far. I haven't even received the one from the other company they said they sent for a replacement.

Anyway, I hope you all are healthy and enjoy your day. :)

@hollydolly lovely pictures of the birthday celebration.🤗

I had cucumber and hummus as an afternoon snack. And I bought a book on Amazon called "How Not to Age: The Scientific Approach to Getting Healthier as You Get Older".
The author of that book, Dr. Michael Greger, is my go-to health and nutrition guru. His website: www.nutritionfacts.org is a wealth of free, scientifically vetted, information. He sells nothing but his books. No vitamins, supplements, etc. Almost never mentions or recommends brand names of anything. His book profits support his non-profit website.

Managed to clean the floors today. Vacuumed the low-pile carpet in the bedroom, it didn't seem to work very well but it's hard to tell. Once I started on the hard floors (which are white background), I noticed the vacuum just wasn't picking up as good as usual. Turns out it was clogged so turned it over and fixed that. Now the floors are clean! Of course, rain is in the forecast so eight little paws going in and out will negate this day's work. For now, it looks great!

I'm spending time reading several pages of posts in this thread. I realized after seeing certain replies yesterday that I've missed some significant events in my friends' lives that I'd like to respond or at least react to. I also intend to do some light cleaning and finally put away the laundry from about a week ago.

It's almost 5:30 a.m. and I'm working on balancing my checkbooks. I need to clear off the dresser again. I have been meaning to organize my colored KN95s so I can easily reach all colors, then put away the boxes they are in (which are on the dresser). I also need to mend a couple of slips.

I am finally back online after a very stressful few days—I was too anxious and depressed to go online at all—and then an all-nighter last night in what was a mostly vain attempt to get caught up. I still have piles of work to do, but as soon as I post this I am going to shower and take a nap.

I have a lot of catching up to do here.

I was vastly relieved to only have to pay for that one part for my car; the dreaded steering wheel issue turned out to be a bent part of the fender that was scraping against the wheel well. I was limp with relief to be off the hook—for now. I have my fingers crossed that it stays that way. I spent time exploring the bus system and the availability of Uber and Lyft here, and the results were dismal. I definitely need a vehicle.

We're in the middle of a Winter Weather Advisory, with about 3 inches of snow today and about 3 or 4 more for tomorrow. Grrrr! But I'm too relieved about my car to get too grouchy. Still, it seems like spring is never going to arrive.

Anyway—I hope everyone has been well. 🌼

I had my hair colored once, too; I had blond highlights put in. (I've always wanted to be a blonde.) We had just moved here, so nobody really could tell the difference. Then, when my regular dark hair started growing back in, people started with compliments, ironically asking me if I'd colored my hair. 😂 I was like, "No, this is my natural color!"
I've been well, thank you. Wish perpetual wellness for you and yours. Thank goodness your car repair wasn't major. It's too bad your transportation choices aren't good. Nice that you found out your natural hair color is attractive to people. I've never colored my hair, which is black, not even when grays started coming in. Of course, I cover my hair in public anyway. But even if I didn't, truth be told, I couldn't wait to get white hair. My eyebrows started getting gray after my hair started turnng.

There's a park two towns over that has beautiful cherry blossom trees that you walk through because they flank the walkway. Also Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J., (not that far from us), has more cherry blossom trees than D.C. Although the photo below is pretty, it's not the same as the stunning photo that was in the article I read about Branch Book (which I can't find now). We have (had) a cherry blossom tree in our courtyard, but it looks like it's dead. I'm going to inform management about it.

Lesson learned. I leave my hair alone now. No gray yet, except a little in my eyebrows. 🤞
Today it's overcast and cold (around 60F degrees) but next week, it will be again in the 80's. All the
flowers on my morning walk cheered me up and made me feel happy. Nature is boundless beautiful.

Sixty-five was my age of discovery ==> I discovered I was "over the hill."
These days, my idea of "a night out" is sitting on the rocking chair and dreaming of my better days.
At my age, "being lucky" is finding my car in the parking lot.
Beautiful pictures of the flowers and your dogs Packleader. It's nice that such beauty is so close to you.

Everybody have a good day
When I went to the supermarket Saturday, I had a chat with one of the workers who always seeks out the Bowl & Basket Butter bread for me when I can't find it. She told me that her absolute favorite thing to do is to relax with a cup of coffee and read the Sunday New York Times. She said she prefers to touch that paper, even if she gets ink on her fingers, so she never reads it online.

Today is Errand Day. Post office, hardware store (for returns), Dollar General, thrift store (donations), bank, grocery store. All can be done in the nearby small town and they're all just a few blocks away from each other. Also, call for appointments with the dog groomer, the car repair place, maybe one for a haircut, too. I already have appointments in the farther away town two days later this week. Hopefully, I can overlap with those? I dislike going to that town 30 miles away. No choice with that. Oh, well.

That sounds very similar to the way we shop here in all our towns.. all the stores are next to each other... so we can do pretty much everything in one outing ..so now that petrol is so expensive, I try to do everything in one outing, every couple of weeks

Good morning Peeps of SF....🌞
....another Sunny Spring day..... it was 50 years ago today that I was relieved of the pain of a 3 day labour..... I will never forget that.. if I live to be 500 years old..🥹

It's funny because, every anniversary of DD's birth..I suffer stomach and back pain while I'm asleep ( she was born at 7am)... I know it has to be psychosomatic... but it's very real...

Today I have the water bill to pay... and I have to contact the Car Insurance company who are dealing with the crash in October when the woman side-swiped me on the dual carriageway... unbelievably they've sent me an email asking for all the details, pictures, drawings and description... all over again that I sent to them when it happened...Unbelievable...left and right hand not knowing what the other is doing...

Have the best start to the week you can folks... 🌷🌺

I had a hard time getting up today because it's overcast and drizzly; I just wanted to sleep in. 🥱

I have my first eye appointment in 3 years this afternoon; thanks to the tax refund and a lot of hard work these past few months I should be able to afford it plus new glasses and sunglasses. (I don't have vision insurance.) I always get anxious, though, with the vision tests. So I'm half-looking forward to it and half-dreading it.

I need to get back to work, just wanted to stick my head in the virtual door and say hello to everyone.

I also combine certain errands based on their locations along wit a nod to outdoor temps and whether I'm buying perishables. 95% of my errands (including medical and dental appointments) are under 10 miles from home.
