It's a Great Day for the World!

Safer place maybe only because the unknown of Iran's future plans. The amount of fire power in missiles both long range & short were amassed because? The ability to shut down the straight another unknown for controlling the world economy in the future. Toss in China & Russia allies now & in the future when unchecked Iran is at full military capability with nuclear stock pile.

I admit I'm not privy to all that is in place now. It seems to me this a similar to a chess game where strategy is in play. Insurance or preemptive action now that isn't popular we won't know the impact until the dust settles.

I’m all for prayer and all for world peace but it feels like we are attempting to weaponize prayer for our own purposes.

I understand praying for peace, strength, guidance, understanding, acceptance, etc…

IMO the world was a safer place before we decided to attack a group of people who posed no real threat to us or to our way of life.
I suspect that for every Christian praying for military success there's another Muslim or Hindu praying for the U.S. to fail.

What would make it right?
If my country was attacked and my livelihood, home, personal safety, etc… was threatened by the invading force, I would probably not have positive thoughts and prayers for their success.

I also believe that we should not be surprised that nations around the world are not piling on to help us justify our actions or that we should be surprised if Iran reaches out to countries that tend to support them and accept their way of life.

IMO we should learn to mind our own business and keep our hands to ourself, accept the fact that people around the world make choices that are not compatible with our own.

I’m not saying that we should be pushovers or that we do not have the right to defend ourselves from people that actually do us harm.

I’m not sure that any single country has the right to decide who can or can’t develop nuclear resources or which countries are suitable to manage those nuclear resources.

Matthew 24:6-8... "And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom..." (no one knows when, but we do see the signs of wars and rumors of wars).

The passage suggests these events are a reality of a fallen world (worldwide sin) emphasizing perseverance rather than fear. We are seeing the evidence of this prophecy unfold in our time. It's only the beginning. But it's inevitable.

An African preacher said in 2009 that we had to pray against a war between Israel and Iran. Why on earth would a christian pray for success? I did pray for that pilot and you can pray for it to stop, but pray for war?
If war was so great why didn't Jesus and His disciples shoot the Romans and kill Nero. Lol shoot. That's dumb. They had no pistols yet, but Peter had to put away his sword.
But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will [a]perish by the sword.

We may be seeing that prophecy fulfilled, so maybe our prayer should be the same as the ending to the final prayer in the Bible, found in Revelation 22:20, ". . . Even so, come, Lord Jesus."

I can't find anywhere in the thread that anyone has said we should pray for war. Praying for "Thy will be done, Thy Kingdom come" yes. God has a plan to rid the world of sin. He's not a happy camper about all the sin.
