Do you wrap a potato in foil before baking?

No.

I just wash them and poke them with a fork.

I enjoy the skins as much as the potato.

Try swapping out the sour cream for a dollop of Marie’s blue cheese dressing. 🐷
in fact I had a baked potato tonight for dinner ( we tend to call them Jacket potatoes more often) just wash them, prick them all over and depending on the size, micro them for between 7 and 10 minutes...

Tonight I had egg mayo in one half and blue Brie in the other half ...always eat the skins

Yes, when I used to cook a lot.
👩‍🍳
Wash, rub with a little oil or oleo, pierce, wrap nicely in foil, bake, turn the potatoes over after about half an hour.
When the baked meat dish was done, so were the potatoes....Yummy.

Now that I cook for just me, I microwave them.
🧑‍🍳
Wash, rub with a Very little oil or oleo, pierce, cook about 5 mins., turn the potatoes over, cook about 5 more mins.
After you do that a few times you get the hang of it.

I'm getting lazy lately. Just the other day whilst in the supermarket I found in the freezer section Mashed Potatoes with butter
added. All you do is take out the quantity you want, I take out a handful, put them in a microwave plate and cover them for about 10 seconds, take them out and mash with a fork and you have beautiful, mashed potatoes. Sometimes I add frozen peas, corn and carrots to the potatoes and cook them all together.

Thank you for the article @nyctrasit5950 .
Phooey on them...I will risk it.
I am not saying the facts are not true, but I am not going to stop using it.
We have been using foil for many years in my family.
I like to use it.
Their so-called consumer help tyips are just the tip of third party klitchen supplies, books and anthing they can convince you to buy. Check out their shop tab. Nothngs free.

I checked the shop out.
Ad ridden and expensive.
Some or most of the items are imported. Shipping now is probably the same or more then their products.
No thank you...;)

Just baked a yam earlier, 45 minutes @375deg F., no foil.
It makes me crazy when I see them in Wegmans grab ‘n’ go case for $10.99/pound.
