Anyone Have A My Pillow?

Almost two years ago my wife and I both got pillows from "My Pillow.com". When we initially made the purchase we used the "fill level" chart on the website to choose how firm our pillows would be. Unfortunately both our pillows were too soft for us, so we exchanged them for firmer pillows. Since we got the proper firmness on the pillows we have been having great sleep. We both agree that these are the best pillows we've ever used. And they seem to last a lot longer than the regular pillows we were replacing about once a year. They're washable and guaranteed for 10 years, but @ $50 each I'll be happy with 5.

Anyone else ever try the My Pillow?

We also bought and returned them. Yuck. I couldn't get past the "lumpy" feel of those chunks of foam. I do appreciate that the inventor is a successful American inventor and manufacturer; it's nice to buy products still Made in USA.

I tried it and returned it. I didn't find it comfortable.

Hi Jane,

What about the pillow did you not like? Was it a firmness issue or something else? I've heard some people say they don't like the feel of the separate pieces of fill in the pillow.

It felt lumpy, and that made it uncomfortable.

My pillow is overfilled down, so I get all the loft without the lumps.

Looks like you both had the same experience with the fill. It did take us a bit to get used to it as well.

We both have problems with overheating when we sleep and none of the other pillows we tried over the years did anything to help keep you cool, but the fill in the My Pillow doesn't retain heat nearly as much as regular pillows and that was a major plus for us.

I'm a bit skeptical about any of this "as seen on TV" stuff. Generally, half the price is either profit, or advertising costs. I notice a lot of the stores...Walmart, Target, etc....have a shelf of this stuff near the checkout lines, and they are usually not much more than half the price of the TV ads. A couple of weeks ago, our local Walmart had a bunch of these My Pillow's in their assortment, and the price was about $30....which is still probably about twice what it's worth. We've got a couple of nice soft "down" pillows that we bought at a Bed Bath and Beyond, years ago...and they are still in great shape, and give us a good nights sleep.

A couple of years ago I bought a My Pillow from Bed, Bath & Beyond, it was small and there was no variety to choose from when it came to being firm or not. I hated it at first, but my memory foam pillow was getting hard and giving me neck pain, so I forced myself to start using it. I still use it most of the time, just switch off now and then.

I flip it throughout the night, to keep the puffy side near my neck, and I push the foam with my fist sometimes to adjust the comfort. It's kind of a workout using it, but I don't hate it like I did when I first used it, and my head sunk in the middle and the sides of the pillow wrapped around my head. :playful: I let my husband try it a couple of times, and he refuses to use it.

You can't beat a feather pillow, I have two types,
curled feathers very compact and down, very soft,
the compact on the bottom with the soft on top,
great every night is a good sleep for me.

Ikea do some very good feather pillows, or at least
they did.

Mike.

I'll never have one.
All their 'special deals' are: buy X many and get a special deal on Y many more.
I only use one pillow.

There are competitors now.

I bought a solid latex pillow just before Christmas. It was $40 but worth it. Best pillow I've had so far. It should last a long time. I had one many years ago, didn't know they still made them. It didn't ever flatten out like the foam ones do. Was going to get a second one, but the price went up to $50 after Christmas! I'll wait. My second favorite is an old down pillow that must be at least 50 years old. You can hear the old feathers crackling when you lay on it with your ear, but I still like it. LOL!

Jim,I agree with you,they are comfortable,I do get a good night's sleep.
When the ads first appeared on TV,the claimer was 'no available in stores',thats no longer the case. A couple of weeks ago,I saw them in Kohls and Target Sue

They are the best pillows ever made. I have six for my bed and four for my couch. Maybe some complaints here are because you did not throw them in the dryer when you received them.

All I know is if they keep playin' that commercial I might have to try it.

They really do saturate both tv and radio with their commercials. It must be working though, the company is very successful.

I have had just about every type of pillow there is and the My Pillow has worked best for me.

Fmdogg44, I had a friend of mine that ordered the My Pillow, he said it was very uncomfortable and he sent it back within a week. I asked him if he put it in the dryer on high for at least 15 minutes before using it to activate the fill, he looked at me a bit perplexed and said "huh"?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I definitely DID follow the instructions they came with. I still thought they were the worst pillows ever.

Feathers, gotta have feathers
The cool side of a feathered pillow is s-o-o-o-o-o cool.

Re-confirmed that when staying a La Quinta
Three pillows
Three firmnesses
(great bed too)

A good pillow seems to start at around $40 and go to much more
I’d pay much much more

A goodly portion (5-6 hrs) of my 24 hr day is spent with my head quiescently caressed by a pillow

I so love the word ‘pillow’
When that word enters my mind an involuntary smile creases my brain

Anyway, having sworn off foam, reading these testimonies, and the dryer curing theory, I may try one one day

Couple questions;

If that dryer prep deal is so important, why don’t they come that way?

And, uh, what’s their drool absorption quotient?
