    Reflections of My Life

(Just wanted to pop in and say that side rails on the beds are considered a form of restraint. I spent many, many hours at the hospital where I worked attempting to keep a pt in bed when they didn't want to stay there. Patient rights. I completely understand that side rails can be...

    Reflections of My Life

We had a week of nicer weather and now it's chilly again. I can't wait to be able to leave the door open all day. Fresh air, and I won't have to get up a hundred times to let the cats in and out. Look forward to hanging laundry on the line to dry. Kat, I don't say much, but I come here to...

    Reflections of My Life

Good morning. Crazy how different the weather is when we are quite close in proximity. The sun is peeking out and I can see patches of blue sky. We are supposed to get a lot of snow tomorrow. Yuck. I'm sick of snow. Happy Valentine's Day!

    Reflections of My Life

Kat, when I moved to the house in Binghamton I furnished it almost completely with furniture from America's Attic. I loved every piece that I bought. All beautiful solid wood, so pretty. Then when I sold the house, I couldn't bring the furniture out here to the country, there just wasn't any...

    Do you like Chickens?

I've had chickens for the past 25 years. I enjoy them very much. I have one who lives in the house, Hunny, she's 6 years old. She's as smart as any dog I've ever known, and she's very affectionate. 2 of my hens hatched chicks a couple of days ago. Since I've retired and no longer drive to...

    Reflections of My Life

Happy Birthday my dear friend, Kat! I hope you have a great day, and I love you ❤️! You know, about the letter to your friend (ex friend?). At first, I was going to say "I hope this has a happy ending", but whatever happens now isn't as important as the step you took to apologize, again...

    Reflections of My Life

Kat, I went to the eye doctors office in Greene in November last year, so not long ago. It was business as usual in their office. I saw both doctors with patients. I love that office! So friendly (and small, and they take my insurance).

    Reflections of My Life

Kat, I have cases and cases of the old canning jars with the metal bail top, sitting in the shed for the last 20 years. They were given to me and I've never used them. I can a lot but with regular jars.

    Reflections of My Life

I have a similar situation with my insurance. Last year I got $280 (?, I think it was) for 3 months but it could only be used on food at Walmart or certain things at CVS pharmacy. This year they switched it, I get $84 per month and I can use it on gasoline and eye glasses/contact lenses, in...

How does something like this happen?

I worked in mental health most of my adult life, in acute inpatient setting. This young man is the perfect age to have his first psychotic episode. Sometimes there are no warning signs at all. What a tragic story.

What are you cooking or baking today?

I almost made meatloaf tonight, it's one of my favorites. Instead, I roasted a big chicken, with potatoes, carrots and onion, and alongside I baked a huge sweet potato, and steamed some asparagus. I'll eat this for a couple days, and package up some for freezer meals, too

How well did you sleep last night?

I rarely get a decent night of sleep. It's been this way most of my life. I've tried different sleep aides and nothing really helps. I'm not stressed about it. Every so often I will sleep 10 hours, maybe once a month. Occasionally I will nap for an hour during the day. I don't feel over...

    Do you enjoy spring gardening?

I have big gardens, 3 separate areas that total just under 4000 square feet. There's nothing I would rather be doing than gardening. I start from seeds, under lights, many varieties of tomatoes and peppers, and flowers. I direct seed cukes, onions, several types of beans, both summer and...
