Ever Been Thrown in the Clink?

In the early 70s I was arrested for possessing a bag of marijuana seeds. I spent 2 nights in jail and was given 5-years probation, the same as a possible murderer got that I shared a cell with! Texas cops were legendary in their hatred for users of pot.

    Getting Personal Once Again...

You think getting over emotional equates to a mental problem?? What the hell is wrong with you?

    Do you use senior helpers/aids?

John, I, too have a hefty supply of V*. I have an unending supply, although I have no idea why. Little opportunity, secluded lifestyle. Frankly, when my PCP offered me the prescription, I thought, Why not? Better to have and not need than... you know. Yes, hope springs eternal! -David-

    Getting Personal Once Again...

I didn't mean to suggest that I want to complete all three at once. Many authors have several works in progress sitting around. I know exactly the order I wish to finish first. The problem is having the muse to draw on to sit down and begin writing again.

    Any Dean Koontz fans?

I agree. His earlier books were more economical in language and his later books bordered on pretentiousness. However, he is still one of my favorite authors. I have two bookshelves of his first edition hardbacks (I am a bibliophile from way back.)

    Do You Have a Recliner?

Absolutely! One of my favorite possessions. Also my Chi-weenie, Emma, loves to lay on the raised foot portion between my legs.

    Ever Had A Xanax?

depends on whether it was the orange or the blue.

    Ever Had A Xanax?

If it worked, it worked. It sounds like the dosage was a little too much. The orange pill is the lower, the blue is the higher. I keep several of the orange around just in case. I used one half about 2 months ago after four nights of less than 3-hour sleep. Better to have on hand and not...

    Getting Personal Once Again...

OED, I hope you were responding to my posts. If not, I apologize for hijacking your comments. Very much easier said than done. However, I thank you for the sentiment. I have noticed that loneliness, sadness and malaise fosters more guilt. I can more-or-less stay on an even keel, but I...

God, or not? A Christian Discussion

God, or not? A Christian Discussion

I am not a fan of Karl Marx' writings but one thing clicked with me. The quote "Religion is the opiate of the masses" is often attributed to Karl Marx, who used it to express his view that religion serves as a tool for social control, providing comfort to people in difficult circumstances while...

Books! How do you read and what do you read?

I'm kind of a reverse snob in genres. As a boy, I read Heinlein, Asimov, Bradbury, etc. As a young adult, I found King and Koontz. My bookshelves are full of first edition of just about every King and Koontz. When I hit hard times a decade or so ago, I sold several first editions on eBay...

2025 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

Texas. It was 92 today! Air conditioners running all day and we are yet to feel the real summer. We will probably have some triple-digit scorchers. I can't stand the heat. It saps of all strength. Additionally, I hate all the insects that come with the heat. Wasps, Mosquitos, Tarantulas...
