I chose not to take MA, that was offered at no cost to me, through my government retirement. It was a group plan that also covered hearing and vision. Call me stubborn. I went with plan G and part D supplements - so I pay. I did take the free dental though.
More than I can display. I have been rotating items, like a gallery does. Makes it fun. I have a lot of original art, some of it my own. I also have celadon pieces - it seems that either one loves or hates it. Lots of mid-century brass castings of animals - my little zoo. I am still on the hunt...
It’s fun to travel but I also like having a “home base” to return to. When I was in my twenties I cashed out my stock options from the tech company I was working at, and travelled for almost a year. I gave up my rental house to conserve dollars. That was the only drawback. No place to call home...
When I was a youth, I couldn’t have cared less. Once I got to middle-age, I started to become curious. My aunt was an amateur genealogist so most of the work was already done for one side of the family. I was surprised to learn how involved my ancestors were in the creation of this country...
Plantar fasciitis. My bad. Years of not wearing shoes in the house and too much physical activity. I have started wearing house slippers and it is helping. But I really dislike wearing shoes and nothing can change that feeling.
Something is quite odd about this. She doesn’t live that far from me. A sports league friend lives a couple streets away from her. This is a very safe neighborhood. I’ve been in that area many times. People pay close to a million or more to live there. My daughter works at a nearby business and...
All I know is this - just eating, sleeping, and sitting in front of a screen (TV/computer) all day is not helpful if one wants to avoid dementia. Like Dick Van Dyke says, you have to keep moving…
I have only used Facebook once in the last eight years. I messaged a friend about getting together for a round of golf. No response. I ran into him last spring and of course let him know I messaged him. He said yeah, he was going through some stuff. “Stuff” was he got married and now he is part...
Report cards were all handwritten and transcripts typewritten. No computers yet. In elementary school my two bad grades were always the same: deportment (talking in class, not sitting still, fighting bullies) and handwriting.
Guys wore blue and gold - s/s shirt and shorts with name of the school on both
Girls had a one piece (same style as OP) that was more yellow than gold. No school name.
You could tell some parents preferred using A LOT of bleach due to color fading.
We had PE five days a week. It was only...
Nobody. I almost ended up the 3rd, but my mother wasn’t having it. She picked a name that was popular in the 1950’s that nobody on either side of the family has.
