So many people still smoke cigarettes

In those days asbestos was pretty common; asbestos vinyl tiles, ceiling tiles and spray on popcorn coating, siding, and attic insulation. The sub I served on was lined with asbestos. My mom had an asbestos pad to set her iron on.

These were sold from 1952 to 1957 and resulted in major lawsuits.

So many people still smoke cigarettes

Remember Kent cigarettes with the Micronite filter that was made of asbestos?

No argument there. Whether you chew it, smoke it, or sniff it, tobacco is not good for you.

Loneliness & Boredom, how to escape

I also lost my wife 3 years ago. I know how you feel. I don't think there is an easy fix. Your mind is stuck in the past. It doesn't want to accept the present. Once you get over that, you can move on with your life and find things that interest you. I found that just writing things down...

If you were 80+, would you get married?

I'm 86. I miss being married, the affection and having someone to share things with. But, I can't imagine marrying again. It takes effort to make a marriage work and I'm just not up to that anymore.

American's expose the truth: China makes America look like a third world country

It saddens me to agree with you. People want easy solutions and there are none. Is patriotism good or bad? I'd say both. In every war there are patriots on both sides.

    A question of Astronomical proportions

That's a mighty big if. Some claim that time is an illusion. If so, it's a heck of a good one.

    A question of Astronomical proportions

Now is all that exists. The past is gone, the future is unknown. No matter what time it is, it's always now.

    A question of Astronomical proportions

There are things that are unknowable. We can make theories. But, without data, that's all they are. What are electrons? We've learned how to use them to make smart phones. But, what are they really? Are they particles or waves, or both? Are they made of quarks, and the quarks made of...

    A question of Astronomical proportions

The more we learn about reality, the more there is that our minds are not able to grasp.

Early 1950's Los Angeles were you there ?

You wouldn't know Knotts now. The Knott family sold it to Six Flags and they made big changes, mostly thrill rides. When I was a teen, it was free to get in. They made their money from the restaurant and shops. It was a cheap date, walk around and buy some candy at the general store. Now...
