    Notes from my patio

Overcast and cool this morning. We get that a lot in the Fall and Spring. Usually it burns off in the afternoon, but not always. A while back I noticed that something was taking bites out of my baby sun rose succulent. I have other succulents, but they weren't touched. Then one day I...

    Notes from my patio

70 and sunny on the patio this morning. Day 2 and no real jaw pain yet. I have to think about it to notice it. Maybe it's still coming. I heard some crows making a real ruckus, so I walked out to see what it was all about. There was a hawk on top of a neighbor's tree and about 5 crows were...

    Notes from my patio

I got my root canal. It went super smooth, no pain, no stress. I was completely relaxed. The doctor explained everything as he went along and kept asking me if I was OK. I guess the pill worked. My daughter in law sat in the room and watched the whole thing. They have a new machine now...

    Notes from my patio

Deep inside my brain is a little boy who's afraid of being hurt, either physically or mentally. He's always been there and I have no control over him. But, he controls my body. When he gets stressed I start to shake, I flush and my heart beats faster. This happened yesterday. My son and I...

Thank you, RadishRose. My son is going with me for moral support. They said it usually takes about an hour and a half.

    Notes from my patio

No activity to see this morning. Not a bird or a bug. Not even a hummingbird. Not a creature was stirring, not even Grampa Don. Sometimes it's like that. But, the sun is warm. I made a Wednesday appointment for my root canal. I figure if you don't trust your dentist it's time to find...

    Notes from my patio

Another nice morning. I'm not a bird watcher who goes out with binoculars to spot them, but I do like to watch them. They say they are the last of the dinosaurs. I think that's kind of neat, although it's sort of hard to think of a hummingbird as a dinosaur. They are super efficient. They...

    Notes from my patio

Nice morning on the patio. Clear sky, no breeze and 60 degrees. My morning cup of Long Jing tea. A black phoebe was in the yard. Neat little bird, black with a white chest. Looks like a little penguin. He sits on the picket fence and swoops down to catch bugs on the wing. Amazing. I...

There didn't used to be. Apparently some got loose and they survived and multiplied.

    Notes from my patio

Thanks for the comments on root canals. I'm still mulling it over. Sitting on the patio this morning soaking up the sunshine that slants in now that the sun is lower and got a whiff of steer manure. One on my neighbors must have spread some. I found it kind of pleasant. When there were a...

I appreciate your advice, Holly. I don't think my dentist is getting anything out of this as she referred me to a specialist. I'm not sure what to do.

    Notes from my patio

I had a friend who died from an infected tooth. He had a toothache. His wife wanted him to see a dentist. He had plans to go to the Burning Man Festival so he put it off and went. While there it got worse. It turned into sepsis. He was rushed to a hospital but it was too late.

    Notes from my patio

I don't see where I have much choice. I have a tooth that hurts when I bite down on it and my dentist says it needs a root canal. And, I don't want to go shopping for another dentist. After I get it I will post here how it went. Long term problems don't worry me. I suspect I won't have a...

    Notes from my patio

Had a dental appointment this morning. I have a tooth that's falling apart. Now I have to see a specialist for a root canal. Not looking forward to that. I've never had one. I've been thinking about how much of our lives is a matter of sheer luck. Almost everything is; our DNA that...

    Chrysler Turbine Car Failure

I saw one in a local shopping center. It was impressive. They started it up and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner, no vibration at all. Coming out the back was a blast of hot air. I thought it was beautiful. I still have the brochure somewhere. Its major fault was poor acceleration...
